  1. HI,

Got busy with office so, late post!!

    Ref below quote,

    //

If you are watching the folder: My Documents\Flight Simulator X Files while the lua is saving, you may have to use the right click context menu and use refresh to see the changes. Maybe it's just my computer, but Windows doesn't update the file explorer window while this is happening.

    //

I was flying the aerosoft airbus a320 ( don't knw whether it matters or not).

have attached herewith the snapshots taken at 3 minute interval which shows the previous file is overwritten by the new file. Also attached the setting file for your reference.

    Appreciate to hear,

    LuaAutoSave.lua

It's been done for a while now using FSX boxed, using steam will make no difference as FSUIPC is the interface.
Works great, been using it the last month, forgot it was even active in my sim!
Just the difficult part remains - the readme / instructions. ( hate it )
It has an UI that can be used in flight along with some default settings that need to be initially set up.

It is compatible with any of the following file formats - .a2a,  .FLT,  .FSSAVE,  .SBP,  .ipcbin, &  .WX
Does the Aerosoft 320 save any other of file type?
I can set it up right from the start.

In the next couple of days or so,

    Good day,

Below files are required to be saved in aerosoft a320.

    .FLT

    .FSSAVE

    .WX

    .ASC

.FMS ( this gets saved in aerosoft folder in my documents C:\documents\Aerosoft\Airbus)

    Thank You,

    Await yours,

    Take care.

This could be a perfect project in lua.
It seems everything that is needed is provided in the FSUIPC offsets & in the lua library.
Just will take some time, may look into it but not until the weekend is over.

    Ideas -
    - FSX only
    - The built in FSUIPC autosave must be turned off to use this
    - The lua will be listed in the FSUIPC.ini [auto] section. It will start / restart on sim load or aircraft change.
    - The ability turn off / on the autosave via keyboard or button (forced off = no automation at all, must be turned back on via keyboard or button). A status window will automatically show as described below.
    - The ability to bring up the current state and settings in the lua with the keyboard or button
    - In the lua file there will be 2 easily adjustable values: Time in minutes between saves, the number of saved flights
    - 3 states: Forced off, Automatic off & Armed
    - If retractable gear and gear is down = autosave is temp disabled (automatic return to active unless forced off)
    - If fixed gear and speed is less than 1.35 (or 1.4) * Design speed VS0 (stall speed full flaps), normally 1.3 * VS0 for VRef =  autosave is temp disabled  (automatic return to active unless forced off)

Looking into it just a bit more, file handling might be a little bit of a chore.. Still doable.

    Good day,

Any luck in making it possible in fsx steam?

Sounds like you have a corrupt weather file somewhere. Usually its the wxstationlist.bin file, in the same directory as your fsx.cfg file. Try deleting/renaming that first - a new one should be created when you restart the sim.

    Hi,

indeed the file was corrupt. followed procedure as said by you and all is good. I have removed the  NoWeatherAtAll=Yes line also. All works fine. Many thanks.

Can you try disabling weather by adding

        NoWeatherAtAll=Yes

to the [General] section of you ini.

    This resolved the problem.🖐️

Could you shed some light on this like Why this problem happened? How does this new line prevent the problem?

    Hi,

maybe try without having the a320 as your default aircraft in your default flight - your log shows this is still there, although I'm not sure that this matters but worth a try. Many people seem to have problems with add-on aircraft unless the sim is initialised with a default aircraft first.

. Tried as you said but still fsxse crashed.

Defender updates shouldn't effect things, but you never know with windows, and the timing is suspicious. Maybe check your defender logs after the update to see if they show anything.

Did you not manage to re-register (or retrieve your old key file)?

Defender protection history is empty. no threats founds.

Yes, i did manage to re-register

Also, presumably this was previously working. What did you change?

    HI,

I am thinking on those lines already. Only changes i found were windows defender security updates done on 18/06/19. This problem started on 18th. Hence i disabled real time protection and tried fsx. Still it crashed.

On 13/06/19 , windows was updated to 1903 version. After that, I ran FSX many times until 18th with no problems.

Other than that I dont remember or see any changes made.

    Hi,

for the crash problem, please try with LINDA disabled (rename your ipcReady.lua to ipcReady.notUsed - you can change it back later). Also try with loading a default aircraft first, then switching to the A320.

When re-installing there is no need to register, you can skip the registration and your previous key file will be used. However, your details are still valid. All 3 field (name, email, key) must be exactly right - best to cut and paste from your registration email.

Please don't post the dll - this is not needed. Generally you should post the log and ini files if you have any issues (and install log if you have installation problems) and we can advise from there.

    HI,

Renamed the LINDA file and loaded default fsx aircraft. Still fsxse crashed.

  9. Good day ,

Once I load a new flight FSXSE just crashes after 2 seconds. Event viewer shows fsuipc4.dll as the problem. So i removed the fsuipc4.dll and fsxse ran smoothly.

Please find attached logs. Also when i was reinstalling fsuipc, it said my serial key is invalid. my order number is 1704222. please advise on both issue.

FSUIPC4 is no longer under development. However, I can add this to the feature request list for FSUIPC5 (for P3Dv4) if folks think this useful.

    Cheers,

    John

    Hi,

Seems many add-ons developers have ditched fsx. I have doubts whether such feature is will be useful in p3d as the specs requirement of p3d is high and add-ons are well optimised for p3d so such freezes will be very rare.

  11. Greetings Pete,

I am using registered version of FSUIPC and use the auto-save feature which is very useful. However, i find that fsx will freeze for about 5-7 sec after every 300sec (as set) to save the files. I realize that aerosoft airbus fsx being a complex add-on, Fsx will need time to process it to save the airbus state as well as fsx situation which is fine. I don't see the freezes when using FSX default aircrafts. I have also excluded fsx, its addon and related folders from windows defender in win10. I scanned through many post related to this in various forums. Alas!!! i was unable to find a working solution.

What happens is that ; Like yesterday and many other times ; when i was landing i was less that 10FT RA and fsx froze. Concentrating so much on the sim, I didn't realize fsx had frozen. . As lot of control inputs were already given when FSX had frozen; FSX had to process that. After the 7th sec FSX resumed, The aircraft hit very hard on ground (315 FPM), which actually spoils all the fun of landing an aircraft. Changing or increasing the time interval for auto save won't help because if the time period ends at the critical phases, Fsx will definitely freeze.

What I suggest is if you can introduce a new feature which can carry out below functions:-

1.If we can disable auto-save feature (as per user choice) automatically when certain conditions are met like:- (i can remember only of this)

      a. landing gear extended (when G button is pressed).

     b. when below a certain altitude (like disable autosave when below XXXXFT) or between certain altitudes.

    c. at a press of a key or joystick button.

It is upto the user prerogative whether to use such a feature or not. Because, if fsx freezes permanently or crashes when the auto-save is disabled. Then, no way of restoring FSX and other complex add-ons to the desired state.

I got this idea from weather addon opusFsi which has  a nice feature to stop weather update when certain conditions are met like  on approach, on certain distance from arrival airport etc.

Hope you can shed some light into this.

Please advise if more info needed.

  12. Good day,

    Following is my config.

I have thrustmaster T-flight HOTAS and Registered FSUPIC.

I am using aerosoft A320 on My FSX-SE.

I have disabled the HOTAS controller in fsx controls and use FSUPIC for all.

The rocker in the throttle stick is assigned for Throttle3axis which performs the function of nose wheel steering.

The twist action of joystick is assign to rudder.

    Below is my requirement.

When on ground, I want the twist action of the rudder for the differential braking ( twist left and left brakes should be applied; twist right and right brake to be applied)

When flying, the twist function to perform rudder axis.

Please advise in detail how to enable such a function.

    Your assistance is highly valued.

  13. Greetings Pete,

    Thanks you for advise.

I shall use rotary encoders instead of potentiometer. But there was another problem in it . How to assign controls of the airbus extended to the encoders using axis assignment as the Linda module for the airbus extended contains the respective commands for button assignment only . But, as a encoders will be an axis assignment , I want to assign the setting for encoders. In fsupic axis assignment page , although there are various option available for changing the ALTITUDE and other values, but  they don't work in airbus extended. Unfortunately, I have no knowledge of programming to create my own files. Can you please provide a solution to the problem which will enable me to assign the altitude speed heading of the airbus extended to the encoders using axis assignment page , or if you have more better option please do advise.

    Many thanks ,

    Edit

  14. Greetings fellow members,

For new year resolution, I have decided to make a cockpit control panel switch for myself.  I have been using the Linda module and fsupic registered for fsx se.

I just ran into a problem . I fly the aerosoft extended . I use the Linda module for button assignment for the aerosoft airbus.

For my home cockpit , I am planning to use potentiometer for setting the ALTITUDE , SPEED , HEADING VALUES . But the problem is the Linda module for the airbus extended contains the respective commands for button assignment only . But, as a potentiometer will be an axis assignment , I want to assign the setting for potentiometer. In fsupic axis assignment page , although there are various option available for changing the ALTITUDE and other values, but  they don't work in airbus extended. Unfortunately, I have no knowledge of programming to create my own files. Can you please provide a solution to the problem which will enable me to assign the altitude speed heading of the airbus extended to the potentiometer using axis assignment page , or if you have more better option please do advise.

    Your assistance is highly appreciated.

    Many thanks,

    Good day,
