Thanks Peter: that worked like a charm! why doesn't Microsoft warn us about these sort of things they do to us?? one can spend hours trying to escape all the unknown security hurdles they erect! thanks again and cheers Ron

I have been to Simmarket and got a new key for FSUIPC 4 to use with FSX.... and have downloaded the zip file from Peter Dowson's page... initially NOD32 refused the download, suggesting it contained an unknown virus -- so I disabled both NOD32 and the firewall and successfully downloaded FSUIPC4.zip .... When I open the archive it shows 3 files -- but refuses to extract the InstallFSUIPC.exe file .... error message is "Winzip is unable to extract 'InstallFSUIPC.exe', terminating operation." (the other 2 files extract fine.) I have re-downloaded several times, and have tried to extract with WinRAR and Stuffit --- same outcome! any clues as to the problem?? It certainly isn't antivirus or firewall caused, as I have restarted the computer each time with them off and checked Windows Task Manager to make dsue they were not running. Ron
