  1. Hi Dave

I don't know if this helps.

For the taxi lights (I assume you mean landing lights), you must switch them on with both the switch on the centre pedestal AND the switch on the cyclic (as per the manual).

For the nav lights/strobe, one click of the pedestal switch will move it in the forward position, which should bring the nav lights on. Click it again, and it will move to rear and the nav lights and the strobe should come on.

Apologies if I've misunderstood your message.

    Best regards

  2. Hi Joao

Thanks for your input...all very helpful.

I've cured the oscillation by increasing the null zone on my anti-torque pedals. I now don't have a problem when I'm cruising but I'm still finding the S-76 a real challenge to fly onto a helipad. What realism setting are you using (I have mine set to approx 80%)?

I prefer to use FSUIPC as I like to allocate different settings to the different aircraft that I fly. As you advised, I have played with the slopes to try and find values that make life a little easier.

Given that I have only been flying helos for two months, it might just be down to my lack of experience. I am getting better...but very sloooowly!

    Again, thanks for you response.

    Best regards

  3. Hi folks

Just downloaded the Sikorsky S-76A. It's beautiful. Congratulations to the designers on a great job. I'm also very pleased to report that I don't seem to be experiencing the many problems that have been reported on this forum.

However, it is a very challenging bird to fly. Although experienced with fixed wing, I have only been flying helos for a couple of months and have been practicing mostly with the 300CBi (a completely different animal) - so I am assuming my difficulties in hovering and manouevring at low height/speed is just my inexperience.

One serious problem that I am experiencing is low frequency yaw oscillation at intermediate speeds (as if she is need of a yaw damper or two).

I use a Saitek X52 in conjunction with CH Pro Pedals and I have been spending some time trying to tweak FSUIPC (Registerd V3.74 with joysticks diabled in FS9) to get the greatest amount of control.

Does anyone have any recommended settings for null zones and slope? Is there any tweak in the aircraft.cfg file that will remove my unseemly meandering through the air? I would love to master this aircraft and make it my default helicopter so any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in anticipation.

  4. Hi Peter

My first message on this forum. I've been using FSUIPC V3.7 (registered) for a few months with fixed wing aircraft in combination with CH Yoke and CH Pedals with no problems at all. Excellent product, very flexible and able to set aircraft-specific settings flawlessly.

I've recently started to get into flying helicopters and to this end purchased the Saitek X52. I am using it in conjunction with the CH pedals and the Just Flight Schweizer 300CBi. I disabled the controllers in FS9, used FSUIPC to set up my controls (all aircraft specific) and everything seems to be working fine...with the exception of two axes which I have checked to be reversed (throttle and mixture) which keep resetting every time a restart FS9 (ie no longer reversed). I have reversed these two axes to make the mixture push in to full when I push the throttle quadrant slider forward and to make the throttle itself behave more like a helicopter collective (I have my throttle quadrant mounted sideways so that "full" throttle is down and "closed" throttle is up).

It's not a big deal as I can just re-check the two relevant check boxes each time I fly. All my other axes and button assignments stay put.

Any ideas would be gratefully received.

    Once again...an excellent product.

    Thanks in anticipation.

    Oscar
