  1. Great looking scenery Don.

Looking forward to installing it :-)

I just (virtually) bought a Supercub in Yakatat and I'm in the process of moving it to Fairbanks at the Chena Marina. I intend to fly it in FSE making v$ in central Alaska.

    Thanks for the screenshot!!

  2. Hi Jeff,

What I posted may not fix Scotts problem. It sounded from his post that he may (I'm guessing here as he didn't state where he was flying into) have been trying to get the 172 into a strip with a short runway. During testing of FSCargo, Japp ran into a problem with the Carenado 182RG and the "full_flaps_stall_speed=50.00000" in the aircraft.cfg file. By changing that setting in my Carenado 182RG cfg file to 49.99 it solved the problem.

So yes, it may be more accurate to say "in the range 0 - 49 for all short. med and long runways" because if the full_flaps_stall_speed is set to 50, then you can't use that plane to get into any short runway.

If anyone out there has the Realair 172, could you check that full_flaps_stall_speed setting and report what it's value is? Thanks!!

  3. Hi Scott,

About the Realair 172....It sounds like a similiar problem with the Carenado 182RG that Jaap solved for us. I hope he doesn't mind, but I'm going to post his solution instead of plagerising(sp?) it lol...

Just to let you all know: there is an issue when using Flight One's Carenado Cessna 182RG Skylane II. This plane is unusable to fly to cargo areas on airfields with a short RWY's (FSCargo's declaration of it) and cannot be used to fly to those nice little rural airfields we all know, for instance Emma Field, Sky Harbor, Wenatchee, Skykomisch etc. etc., all with short RWY declarations I pressume. When you use cargo area files with only short RWY's you get the FSCargo error that there is no suitable assignment possible for this plane, change to another plane etc (or whatever). This problem can easily be overcome. It is caused by the following:

When an assignment is generated, the full-flap stall speed (FFSP) of the current aircraft is checked and:

    1) if in the range 0 - 50 KTS, all short, medium and long rwys can be used

    2) if in the range 50 - 100 KTS, only medium and long rwys can be used

    3) if above 100 KTS, only long rwys can be used.

    (all Maurizios words).

Now, when you look into the aircraft.cfg file of the Carenado you see this (under [Reference Speeds]):

    full_flaps_stall_speed=50.00000

And this is in the category 2) and 3) above. So generating assignments for short RWY's is impossible.

When you change this 50.00000 in 49.00000 in the aircraft.cfg file your problem is solved. And... what's 1 mile per hour in a human's life .

Maybe this problem will pop up in the FSCargo support forum. This is the answer for it .

Sorry for this long explanation for such a minor problem.
