Pete; thank you for the prompt reply. Printed and re-read the user guide (with a little more comprehension), Also the widefs one as well while awaiting your reply. The confusion part was due to previous pre-FSX releases' for the most part and me trying to grasp a concept that until a few days ago didn't know existed. I asked one of those wouldn't-it-be-nice type of questions and was told to look into FSUIPC4. At 70 this brain isn't what it used to be, and I am not that comuter savy. Those two facts aside, I'm sorry that I came across as inept. I cetainly will register my copy of your program and take it from there. - I hope any future questions will make a litle more sense.

FYI - I Just downloaed WideFS 6.77 - When I went to extract it, my virus checker (COX Security suite) said there was a malware virus - maximus detected in the fsclient.exe

Pete; On the forums there seems to be a lot of confusion between verions and DLL's and also some on what needs to be registered and what will work without registration. - Could you clairify a few points with me? Running FSXsp1 on main pc and DeLorme street atlas on the laptop. OS is XPPROsp2 on both. Using a DB9 serial null cable between COM1 of both PC's - Hyper terminal establishes a good session All I want to do is fake 'street atlas' into thinking that there is a GPS attached to it - Settings support com 1 and a host of GPS devices. I also have Mirosoft 'streets and trips' and Route 66 'route USA & Canada' Downloaded and installed your FUIPC4 (4.2.0.0), and belive it or not read the MOST EXCELLENT users guide. From that I assume, for my needs, I have to register ONLY wideFS. Is this correct? Another confusion point - What needs to be installed, if anything, on the laptop?
