Thanks Jean-Jacques. Now I have updated my system info for the next time. For anyone who can help with my "focus problem", I use FSCDbManager85.exe and I have to have Flight Sim 9 installed but don't actually use it at all - I just use FSC to create reasonably realistic flight plans (for marketing purposes). Thanks again, J-J. Mike.

Hello Volker / Sascha.
I'm trying to program a macro to run the excellent FSC. It copies dep and dest airports from an Excel worksheet into the flight plan, generates a high alt plan and saves it without a problem.
My problem is that the macro then tries to return focus to Excel to retrieve the next pair of airports but FSC will not give focus to Excel.
If I manually (ie instead of using the macro) use Alt-tab to switch to any other window (including Excel), FSC seems to fight that and I often have to do that twice or more often before I can get focus onto the window I want. So it's not surprising that my macro has a problem too. Another thing I sometimes see is the control bar at the top of FSC flashing.
Obviously I'm not asking for help to program my macro, but I am asking if there's something about FSC which makes my efforts to take focus from FSC a waste of time. I have searched the forum and the closest I got was a discussion involving Jean-Jacques about making alt-tab work to control a joystick (which I didn't entirely understand, I'm afraid).
Thanks for any help available. Mike

Hello.
When I launch FSC 8.5 it says that fscc_vatsim.dat is missing.
It isn't in the \database folder
The log of the recent upgrade from 8.4 stopped at:
C:\Program Files\FSC\database\fsc_ivac.txt = 6716
The old log said:
Exit in ReadOnlineDatabases with fsc_vatsim.dat
ReadOnlineDatabases successful (False)
I don't think I need vatsim as I "only" use FSC to create and export pln files for Google Earth, but it would be good to avoid the message.
I hope I haven't missed a similar post in this forum - sorry if I have.
Thanks for any advice. Mike

FSC seems to grab focus

To answer my own question, I think it was caused by using FSC on one screen and Excel on another screen. As soon as I put them both on one screen, FSC behaved perfectly. Thanks anyway.
