Hi Pete, I actually have the whole drive shared as I use it on the network for other things besides FS. I have only recently started using the PC again and found this problem that it wouldn't connect at all. I have trawled many many forums and knowledge bases to find out why, and have changed the PC to a fixed IP address and specified the gateway, etc. After I did this, the computer connected but in local mode only...it is very puzzling to say the least - and my Vista DVD is lost so I can't even restore the installation :-( I will try your other suggestion about changing the port and see if that works. If not I will buy a decent firewall or even just download ZoneAlarm and activate the relevant port on that - at the moment I have only Windows Firewall on both machines and disabled it prior to testing the connection with WideFS...maybe it remembers port blocking? Framerates generally are pretty good - but at the moment when I try having WideFS open they are terrible (although I haven't flown yet with WideFS open - I have only been testing it on stand). When WideFS is not open then I get 15-20fps with high intensity scenery selected. Will post results of the port change shortly...and I didn't realise Katy was still around - I remember her from the days of Simflight newsgroups!!! lol Thanks for your continued help Pete.

I mean as in it keeps redrawing the screen on the sim. It could be a broken network - the main reason I bought WideFS was because my home PC (the one with FS on), can not connect to the internet - it can only connect locally to the network. It has no other issues though - I have full read/write access on both machines from both machines - just the PC does not get the internet gateway for some reason. Do you think this could be it Pete? Sorry I didn't mention before as I thought it was irrelevant.

Sorry Pete, I thought I had pasted the other log...here it is: ********* WideServer.DLL Log [version 6.75] ********* Blocksize guide = 4096 (double allowed) Date (dmy): 28/10/08, Time 14:15:46.339: Server name is CHRIS-PC 137812 Initialising TCP/IP server 137890 Initialising IPX/SPX server 137890 IPX/SPX socket() failed [Error=10047] Address family not supported by protocol family 137890 Failed to start IPX/SPX Server 137890 Initialising UDP/IP server 138296 Broadcasting service every 1000 mSecs 149140 Restarting service due to total lack of use 149140 Failed to start IPX/SPX Server Same as before there. I have no Firewalls active on either machine at the moment and I can guarantee that. I am running a BT Home Hub Mark I if it makes any difference there. Chris

Hi, I have just bought WideFS and FSUIPC and I am trying to connect AS6.5 to FS9 using these programs. I (think!) I have followed all of the instructions in the relevant readme files including running Active Radar Connector on the FS PC however I am still getting WideClient showing "Waiting for a Connection" and AS6.5 showing "FS Disconnected". This is the content of the relevant logs: ********* WideClient Log [version 6.75] Class=FS98MAIN ********* Date (dmy): 27/10/08, Time 20:22:03.484: Client name is CHRIS-LAPTOP 297 Attempting to connect now 1295 Trying to locate server: Need details from Server Broadcast 1295 Failed to connect: waiting to try again 3354 Attempting to connect now 13650 New Client Application: "ASv6" (Id=1084) 68095 Trying to locate server: Need details from Server Broadcast ********* WideServer.DLL Log [version 6.75] ********* Blocksize guide = 4096 (double allowed) Date (dmy): 27/10/08, Time 19:59:37.443: Server name is CHRIS-PC 119313 Initialising TCP/IP server 119313 Initialising IPX/SPX server 119313 IPX/SPX socket() failed [Error=10047] Address family not supported by protocol family 119313 Failed to start IPX/SPX Server 119313 Initialising UDP/IP server 120156 Broadcasting service every 1000 mSecs 233156 Restarting service due to total lack of use 233156 Failed to start IPX/SPX Server Looks like the IPX/SPX server is the problem, however how do I resolve this please?
