We got it, very great Pete! :D The router manual says that I have to use dynymic IP, but when I changed the name entry in the client.ini and filled in the 192.168.x.x (taken from the attachments data in the router software) WideFS worked again. You're an expert! I changed my router months ago and probably didn't start the FS since the new one?! Thank you very much, best regards Chris

O.k. I have only the xp-firewall and switched it now off on both PCs, just for sure I also rebooted both machines after that. Still the same and no difference in the .log and .ini files! For further information: I'm using a Netgear Router (RP614V4) and AFAIK it contains no firewall, only the option to blocking the access on websites or over keywords and there are no entries in the list. Switching off the virusguard doesn't have an effect, too. What can I try next?

Dear Pete, after 5 years of running my FS over network without any problem and a break in flightsim for a few months now I wanted to start it again today. But suddenly the connection over widefs doesn't work anymore. It's only this connection, any other thing in my network is still going on! So I installed the newest versions of FSUIPC ans WideFS (registered, of course), checked the network (no problems, the outsourced FSC on the same client and its databasemanager are still working perfectly, too) and read the manual. I added the lines with the server name and the TCP protocol in the WideClient.ini, tried the added client name in the server.ini, too, and I also looked around in the forums. No result, "waiting for clients" in the FS-headline and "WideClient FS98 Eliminator" in the Client-Window! I'm using XP in a network with 2 pcs, only one workgroup. Of course are the folders set as shared, like all the time before. The only striking line to me is in the client.log: "1313 Error on client pre-Connection Select() [Error=10061] Connection refused" So I need your help now to run my WideFS (very important for my PM-cockpits) again.
