  1. Pete,

    Running 6 touch screens with the PMDG 737ngx in Prepar3d. We have them working, but are wondering, is there a LUA or another type of script that could be written to assign various panels to the monitors so we didn't have to sit and physically drag panels to monitors every time we boot up? It would be great to be able to write several scripts, one for each type of aircraft flown, so that there could be a set-up for a Baron, a Concorde, a 737, etc.

  2. Volker,

    I have the same problem, just in FS9 (FSX now fine). Missing ILS and airport info for KPHL and KLGA so far. I do have aftermarket sceneries for both of these, but I also have aftermarket KJFK, and it is fine.

    Configuration:

    FSUIPC - v. 4.5.3.0

    WideFS - v. 6.7.8.0

    FSCommander - v. 8.6

    DataBase Manager v. 8.6

    Download version

    Windows XP

    I will e-mail a copy of the FSCDBM_FS09.LOG file to you.

    Thanks,

    Justin Friedland

  3. Anyone else have this problem? Just updated to 8.6 for FSX and FS9. The FS9 installation went fine, but the FSX has double airports. Anyone know the fix? I've searched the forums and the manual, but if an answer exists, I've missed it. Thanks.

  4. Pete,

    You are tireless and I suppose there must be 4 of you.

    At any rate, here are the first lines of code for the LUA

    ipc.sleep(2000)

    -- RIGHT Engine OFF

    RSG = ipc.readLvar("L:RightEngStopSwitchGuard")

    if RSG == 0 then

    ipc.writeLvar("L:RightEngStopSwitchGuard", 1)

    ipc.control(66587, 8010)

    elseif RSG == 1 then

    end

    Darned if I can figure out where the error is.

    Thanks,

    Justin

  5. I think I copied and installed the Cold and Dark file correctly, but it will not run, and the log shows the following:

    ********* LUA: "J41 CD" Log [from FSUIPC version 4.53] *********

    518812 System time = 08/01/2010 16:03:25, Simulator time = 16:00:21 (21:00Z)

    518812 LUA: beginning "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Modules\J41 CD.lua"

    518812 *** LUA Error: ...am Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Modules\J41 CD.lua:1: unexpected symbol near '{'

    518812 LUA: ended "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Modules\J41 CD.lua"

    518812 System time = 08/01/2010 16:03:25, Simulator time = 16:00:21 (21:00Z)

    ********* LUA execution terminated: Log Closed *********

    I have been over every line until my eyes are crossed, and cannot find '{' or any obvious error.

    I have tried mapping the script to both a button on the joystick and to a key combo to no avail.

    Help?!

  6. I have an old Gravis Firebird 2 joystick that was great in its day for a Macintosh flying an Apache helo.

    It has an 8 way hat switch, 13 buttons, stick, throttle and trim controls. It came with a piece of software that allowed configuration of all the buttons.

    The original input was Apple ADB, but I have an iMate ADB to USB converter that does allow the controller to sort of function...however, the cursor never disappears, and its range does not cover the whole screen either vertically or horizontally. None of the buttons function except as mouse clicks, and the joystick itself is not found by MSFS in its joystick setup menu.

    I now fly MSFS Flightsim9 on a PC running Windows XP, and a registered copy of FSUIPC. It seems that FSUIPC has the capability to program the joystick buttons, and the stick itself, but I'm darned if I know where to start.

    Is it possible, or should I just give the thing to a museum?

    Thanks.

  7. Pete,

    These logs are from last night, when I started a flight from JFK to Halifax. About an hour into the flight, Wide Client disconnected and nothing I could do would get it reconnected until I rebooted the Mac computer, restarted JeppView and ASA, then restarted Wide client, which then reconnected to FS9 on the PC. The connection remained stable until I was parked at the gate, when I did shut down the FS9 App.

    I guess the best thing to do is to do another flight, and send you the logs of the next disconnect.

    I thank you for your patience, and the the great contribution that you make to my hobby.

    Justin

  8. Thank you for the quick response.

    Yes, Parallels is a program designed to complete emulate Windows on a Mac with an Intel chip.

    I have FSUIPC v. 3.9.1.6

    Wide Server v. 6.7.8.0

    Just updated to Wide Client v. 6.7.8.6

    I find that I have two Wide Client Logs and Two Wide Server logs. (Is that the problem?)

    I hesitate to copy them here, because they are all very long, but the forum won't let me attach them. Here is the gist of them:

    As I said, I just updated the Wide Client app after your first response.

    Thank you again.

    Thank you again.

  9. I am running two computers for flight simming.

    The first is a PC:

    Windows XP SP3

    AMD Athlon 64x2 Dual Core 5600+ 2.81 GHz

    3.50 GB Ram

    NVIDIA GeForce 8600GTS

    The second is an iMac running Parallels

    On the windows side I am running a legal copy of Windows XP SP3

    The PC has FS9, FS Realtime, and Flight Environment

    The Mac has JeppView, ASA for Weather, and Wide Client.

    I also occasionally check the status of VATSIM using VATSpy on the Mac.

    The problem is that Wide Client disconnects after a while during flights (an hour more or less) and the only way to re-establish communication is to reboot the Mac, which means I have to reload ASA and JeppView, etc.

    The computers are both on a LAN with three other machines. They take their addresses automatically.

    Here is the .ini file from Wide Client

    [Config]

    Port=8002

    ServerName=valued-735da7ac

    Protocol=TCP

    Window=4,4,1686,828

    Visible=Yes

    ButtonScanInterval=20

    ClassInstance=0

    NetworkTiming=5,1

    MailslotTiming=2000,1000

    PollInterval=2000

    Port2=9002

    ResponseTime=18

    ApplicationDelay=0

    TCPcoalesce=No

    WaitForNewData=500

    MaxSendQ=100

    OnMaxSendQ=Log

    NewSendScanTime=50

    Priority=3,1,2

    ; -----------------------------------------------

    [user]

    Log=Errors+

    [GPSout]

    Port=COM3

    Speed=19200

    Any suggestions you could offer would be greatly appreciated.
