  1. I would say it probably is a bug with 8.1. It never asks to send a report to Microsoft, however, if I view Problem Reports (found by searching for it under Start), the FSX crash is on the list and it says that the report was sent. So it would appear that reports are automatically sent now (probably configurable during the OS installation).

  2. Thanks for the quick response. It's interesting how everything was fine on 8, but not 8.1. Hopefully this is just something with the operating system itself that will be fixed. Microsoft Flight crashes prior to the UI loading as well, but with a kernel32.dll error. Perhaps it is happening on both FSX and Flight for a similar reason. Sadly, if it is just an issue with these two programs, I don't see Microsoft fixing it.

  3. Hello,

As long as I've used FSUIPC in the past, including with the RTM version of Windows 8, I have not had a single G3D.dll crash. However, on the 8.1 Preview (upcoming update for Windows 8), I get a fatal error right before FSX would normally be loading the main menu. I am curious if this could potentially be fixed via a future update to FSUIPC, or if 8.1 will be the end of being able to run FSX on the latest version of Windows.

In case it is of any use, here is the error log from Event Viewer:

  4. I also think the Bell 206L would be nice. The L4 variant specifically. I don't think there's much of a different in all the exteriors, and the L4 model is the newest, so it would probably be better to do. The 407 would be nice too, but I'm going to be making one after the S-61, so I would feel like it would be a waste of time if I made my freeware one. I have considered making the 206L in the future. It's on my list. The model is started, but not much has been done.

But first on my wishlist for the nemeth bros is the MD600N. We have needed a good MD600N for Flight Sim for years!

  5. LOL, my username is Hughes-MDflyer4 on multiplayer now. Changed it after I started using the name on the forums. The Bell 407 project is on hold until the S-61 is finished. The S-61 should be out in a few months, but can't promise that. After it's out, the Bell 407 will be back to the primary project. I don't want to overload myself with 7,000 projects at once.

  6. Nothing personal, but I have to agree with Hughes-MDflyer4. Using caps lock on forum's is also known as shouting. I really don't like it when people shout at me. Do you? And besides, I don't think this topic is more important than any other topic on this forum.

Anyway, like I said, nothing personal, just sharing my opninion. Now lets get back on topic! Skycrane! :D

Thank you! Yeah, I don't have anything against you, hughesflyer4, just saying that a few of your topic titles have been in caps. It's not going to get anymore or less views if it's not. We are all nice people here who read through all the topics.

And just curious where you got your username? Originally when I started out in FSX multiplayer, I came up with the username hughesflyer4 for login purposes. Later, when I started registering on forums, I decided to add "-MD" for whatever reason. Just found it funny seeing my old username that I left behind a few years ago.

  7. Great news! A guy from Milviz answered the question on Sim Outhouse! Here's what he said about the snorkel:

I am sorry that the instructions for how to use the water stuff was not included in the manual. Not sure how that did not make it in as it was in the beta versions of the manual, also the manual I got with my copy has in there that it requires SP2, but Acceleration was recommended (due to MS incorporating multi-engine helo's). Seems like some things got lost in translation between our copy, and the final retail release.

How to use the fire fighting equipment: First you need to go on the center console (right seat side) and on the right side of the center console set the hoist master switch to one of the 3 positions (pilot, co-pilot, aft pilot). For this we will select pilot, and that will enable you to use the panel on the right hand side of the center console. From there you use the cargo release mode switch, and select one of the other positions. If you select Shear that drops the water, and so forth. Then you go on the forward right hand side over head and arm the shear switches and then the water will jettison. To get the water to stop/retract water suckers you just move the switch back to safe position, and turn the hoist master switch off. Sorry for the confusion and anyone who wants screens/video tutorial of it we will be more than happy to do it. Thanks for the comments, and for trying the product.

  8. Now this is just my opinion. I think that we are making it harder for the Nemeths to decide because we are telling them about a million different projects we think it would be awesome for them to take on. They will look for a helicopter they want too, and find out how much information they can get to make it as accurate as possible. Just my two cents. 8)

  9. AND by the way. I just whent to your websit and the DOWNLOAD button on the 407 is not clickable

Are you referring to my Bell 407? Because there's an FS2004 one being made on hovercontrol, and I'm making an FSX one completely apart from the other one. I know it's not clickable, if you're referring to mine. I have the 407 on hold until my first project is finished. (The Sikorsky S-61N) The 407 already has a lot of work done to it, but I'm just not ready to put the beta version out for EVERYONE.
