Hello again Volker!
Thank you again for taking the time to read my message and write back.
Sorry, I don't have Skype. If you want me to call you, I'll just do it on my phone, so it does not generate any cost for you. Let me know.
I am not using Windows XP anymore, I have a brand-new fresh installation of Windows 7 now.
I will try installing as you suggest, using another drive. Thanks for the idea, I sincerely appreciate your help.

Volker,
Sorry to inconvenience you again.
I have been unable to install FSC correctly for some reason.
I used the "Administrator" account that comes with Windows 7 and installed the program as an Administrator.
I ran the installation as an Administrator as well.
Towards the end of the installation sequence, I received the following message again:
The following files did not self-register or unregister: 1. C:\Windows\System32\mfc40.dll An event was unable to invoke any of the subscribers.
After installation I ran the DB Manager as Administrator to import the data from FSX but when I double-click the FSX folder to select it
I get an error and the program closes. At this point I receive an error window indicating:
Path not found, error '76'
I really like your program, it is by far better than any other program available today for FSX flight planning and navigation, but I just can't seem to make it work. I have installed multiple other programs to my computer the past couple of weeks, without any problem, so I am very curious as to what I may be doing wrong. If all this information gives you any ideas about what may be happening, I would love to hear them. I had been operating with Windows XP Pro until two weeks ago, and I tried your program then, and it worked magnificently. The trouble in its present form has existed only since I installed Windows 7.
By the way, if I can help contribute to your future versions of FSC in any way, I would be very happy to do so. I am an Aerospace Engineer and retired from TWA (L-1011) and now I'm a pilot instructor with another major airline, teaching the 757/767. Let me know if you could use any help.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
All my best,
Maurice

Thank you very much for your reply. Very nice of you.
I will attempt to install and run the program as Administrator. I will let you know how it went.
Your program is magnificent.

I downloaded the file FSC85.zip and have tried several times to install the program in normal and in safe modes with no success. During installation I recieve a window with this message:
The following files did not self-register or unregister: 1. C:\Windows\System32\mfc40.dll An event was unable to invoke any of the subscribers.
After installation I try to import the airports from FSX but I get an error and the program closes. I have been unable to progress past this step.

I have removed most of the applications from RAM before attempting to install.
This is my first post, so please forgive me if I overlooked any information. If anybody has any idea what I can do differently, I would very much appreciate any suggestions. FSC is a superb program and I would like to use it. Thanks!
Difficulty installing FSC 8.5 in Windows 7

Hello again Volker!
Well,, I have not been able to run the Database Manager. The program installs okay, but when I try to read the FSX files, I get the same error:
Run-time error '76': Path not found
And then the Database Manager closes. I have applied the "Take Ownership" feature to every file in FSX, and I installed the program as an Administrator and ran it as an Administrator, but I am still not able to use the Database Manager effectively. I suspect this may be due to some new characteristic of WIN7.
I am trying to work with your version FSC85.
If you hear anything new from some of the other users, or if you get more information about this problem, I would be very grateful if you could share it with me. Thank you for taking the time to read this note.
All my best,
Maurice
