I create a text file (see example) and compile it into .ssi file and sioc responds to the inputs/outputs using fsuipc offsets. I asked OpenCockpits "Is there a way to get fsuipc to recognize switches connected to the usbkeys card? " This was there response: "Thank you for your email. SIOC (the Opencockpits cards/modules driver) is fully compatible with FSUIPC. In the product page you can download the card manual https://www.opencockpits.com/catalog/tarjeta-usbkeys-p-51.html?language=en and follow the examples to write a code copatible with FSUIPC." I did that but they didn't really answer my question. That's usually the case with them. I'm using Simconnect rather than fsuipc in the Prosim737 configuration, maybe that's why fsuipc isn't recognizing the inputs. Jerry Yoke_Switches.txt Yoke_Switches.ssi

I thought I posted this question yesterday but I can't find it today. I'm using fsuipc7 with msfs. I'm using Prosim737 and I made a yoke with a hat switch and 8 other switches. I'm trying to use the open cockpits usb-keys matrix board and I want to use fsuipc to assign the inputs. I wrote a script and compiled it but I can't figure out how to get fsuipc to recognize it. The FSUIPC window is being shown. The problem is with all the other menus. I contacted P3D and I'm waiting to hear back from them. Thx John. Jerry

I just discovered something very interesting. I uninstalled fsuipc and Prosim737 aircraft and restarted P3D. I'm running an RTX 3080 and have P3D spread across 3 42" lcd screens. If I dock P3D on the left screen all the menus are working properly, also on the right screen. But on the middle screen or spread across all three the P3D window goes black when I try to select something from any menu. I reinstalled fsuipc and its still working like it should. I guess I need to contact Lockheed Martin and explain this to them. It was working fine with P3Dv4.5 but when I switched to P3Dv5.3 this started happening. Jerry

I did a clean install of P3D5.3. the only addons I have installed are FSUIPC and the Prosim737 Aircraft model PBR. I'm having the same problems as before. When I load a flight and click on any top dropdown Menu item and make a selection: ex: Navigation-Go to Airport, the window goes black. If I click on the black screen I hear a Windows ding. I hit Esc and goes back to the Flight screen. If I click on Scenario-Exit the window goes black. If I then hit Enter-Esc it closes P3D. It must have something to do with fsuipc. I just go to the default flight and don't start Prosim I still have this issue. Jerry

I'm not sure if this is related to other problems I've been P3Dv5.3 but it seems P3D isn't shutting down properly. When I choose File/Exit it leaves these two items in the taskbar. One is labeled "Lockheed Martin Prepar3D v5 with Wideserver: waiting for clients", the other "Prepar3D v5 Dialog". Clicking on them doesn't maximize them and I have to manually close them. I have been having a problem with the ATC menu in P3Dv4.5 as well as the GSX menu. The number keys would not work in making selections in the menus. I could only make a selection with the mouse. I requested help on several different forums but no one had an answer. Today I did a complete re-install of P3D and started adding items one at a time and starting P3D and checking atc each time. As soon as I enable FSUIPC6 on startup and start a flight the menu problem begins. I began having this same problem a couple of months ago when I was using FSUIPC5 but didn't realize FSUIPC was the issue. I just switched to FSUIPC6 a week ago. Can you help me find why FSUIPC is causing this problem. I have been using FSUIPC registered version for many years without this problem. Jerry

I flew with my throttle quadrant for the first time yesterday and it worked pretty well. I don't have the trim wheels working yet and have some finishing touches left to do. I'm wondering if LM is planning on doing something similar with scenery rendering as FS2020 in their next version? Maybe I should stick with 4.5 and wait for that. What are your system specs Pete? I'm running a Gigabyte 1080 GTX with 3 Samsung 46” HDTVs for front view. I had planned to get the RTX 3080 and move my 1080 to the 2nd computer for side views but you know what happened there; maybe someday this year. I was getting 50+ fps at Flightbeam KDEN but yesterday they dropped down to 6. Not sure what happened, maybe an Ulitmate Traffic overload. I also have TrueEarth GB but haven't had much time to try it. I've been converting my B747 cockpit to a B737 and building a 737 throttle quadrant using a 3D printer which has taken a lot longer time than I anticipated. Do you think P3Dv5 is a better choice than FS2020? Jerry

I'm debating whether to switch to P3Dv5 or wait until Prosim737 will work with FS2020. From reading recent reviews FS2020 still has a lot of bugs and it would require updating my 50+ add-on airports which would be really expensive. I built a B737-800 home cockpit in my garage and I run 2 copies of P3Dv4.5, the 2nd one for side views so moving to P3Dv5 or FS2020 would be twice the price. I'm disappointed that Lockheed Martin doesn't offer an upgrade discount. Would you tell me why P3Dv5 is vastly superior to v4? Should I switch or wait for FS2020 to get all the bugs out?

I'm using P3Dv4.5 and I'm wondering if there is an advantage to switching to Fsuipc6. What extras would it give me? Jerry

Thanks for your reply Pete. I've never worked with FSUIPC user offsets or Lua plug-ins. Maybe if I could find a turorial on how to do this, otherwise I'll have to depend on OC or Prosim for a solution. Jerry

Are their fsuipc variables for controlling the displays on the B737 FLT and LAND ALT displays on the Overhead Panel. I built a B737-800 Overhead Panel using Open Cockpits displays and encoders and I'm trying to get them to work in Prosim737. The script I downloaded from Open Cockpits for Prosim737 has a separate variable for each 7 segment display but in Prosim737 there is only one variable entry for all five segments in FLT ALT and LAND ALT. If I try entering the lowest segment display variable Prosim locks up. The encoders are changing the values as shown in the IOCPConsole but they are not being written to my displays or the ones in the Prosim Overhead. I've contacted Prosim and Open Cockpits but I haven't gotten a solution from either. I was wondering if you had any input on this? Also, is there a way to save my joystick inputs in FSUIPC when installing the latest version so I don't have to re-enter everything? Jerry

Pete Simon in the Prosim Forum told me to run the simconnect msi setup files in the redist folder within P3D. I tried that but it didn't help. Then I deleted the DLL.XML file and re-ran the FSUIPC installer. That fixed the problem. Not sure if I needed to do both those things but FSUIPC is now showing in the Addons Folder and Prosim737 is connecting to P3d. Thanks so much for your help. Jerry

There are only 4 files in the Modules folder: FSUIPC4 Install, FSUIPC4.DLL, FSUIPC4.key, SimConnectP3D3.dll and the documents folder. Is that all that should be there. I looked at the log file and it says it found everything and installed ok. Jerry

I started having trouble with Prosim737 not connecting to P3Dv3. After some searching I discovered FSUIPCv4 was not listed in the Add-ons menu in P3D. I checked my P3Dv3 Modules folder and FSUIPC4 and all its files seemed to be there. I reinstalled it just to be sure but when I restarted P3D there is the same problem. Then I deleted the files from the folder and ran fsuipc install as administrator. Then I started P3Dv3 as administrator but its still not listed in the Add-ons menu. Jerry

Before I started using Project Magenta software I flew the PMDG 747. There was a setting in that program that would allow the flight to automatically pause at the top of descent in the flight plan. I was wondering if it would be possible to program that into FSUIPC. Or maybe even choose a waypoint to pause the flight at. If I was making a long haul flight I would take off and climb to cruise altitude, then go to bed and when I woke up I would finish my flight. I don't have the patience to sit for the hours it takes to cross the ocean and at my age I would much rather spend the time sleeping. Jerry

Do you suggest that I wipe out FSX and start with a new installation or is there any way to find what is corrupted. I set Windows not to hide filenames. I have a lot of addons installed, really hate to start over. Sometimes when I start FSX I get an error message asking if I want to run this software. After clicking yes sometimes FSX will eventually start, other times it crashes. I'm not sure if FSUIPC is the only problem because sometimes FSX doesn't display this error message, it just doesn't load and I finally get an error message that the program has stopped working. Is there any way to tell FSX to accept FSUIPC? Jerry
