  1. UPDATE: Here is what Microsoft says about using Win XP Mode:

"In order to use Windows XP Mode, you need to make sure your computer meets certain system requirements, otherwise Windows Virtual PC and Windows XP Mode won't work correctly, even though you might be able to download and install them. Before you begin, follow these steps:

    1. Make sure you're running Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise, or Ultimate. [this left me out]
    2. Find out whether your computer's CPU is capable of hardware-assisted virtualization.

Windows XP Mode was primarily designed to help businesses move from Windows XP to Windows 7. It isn't optimized for graphic-intensive programs, nor is it well suited for programs with higher hardware requirements."

Uninstalled the program from the above referenced PC and installed it on a less hardware intensive PC but still meeting the minimum hardware requirements and running Win 7 64 bit. The program is working so far without a problem.

    Thanks, David, for your support.

  2. David,

Before launching FS, I used the config utility to change all the listed items in the "Quick Start" section of the manual and saved the settings. Then opened FSX and made a default flight in a C-172 starting at S Parking 8 in KMWH. Then changed to the ERJ 145LR and set AI traffic to "0", WX to clear and the fuel to 5699 pounds total.

Opened the flight to find the plane slowly moving on the ramp and the VC cold and dark. Brought the plane to a stop. Unable to open the OVERHEAD panel to power up. When Shift 2 thru 9 is activated, there is a <1sec. flash of a black box of different sizes appearing, except for shift 6 & 7 which open, but do not respond to additional clicks. Nothing else in the VC is active when clicked on or cursor is moved on a knob.

I note in the manual that "only 32 bit systems are supported." Mine is 64 bit, and I do not see a compatibility mode option like was in XP. Is the sim working with Win 7 64 bit systems?

Hope you can help solve this problem.

    Russ

  3. New purchase from BMT Micro and installed on dedicated  sim PC I7-3770K (3.5), 16 GB 1600 RAM, EVGA 670 and ASUS P8Z77-V PRO. No problems during install. When opening any of the models the VC is cold and dark but the plane is moving down the runway. Changing the config utility makes no change to this event. Nothing is active in the VC except Shift 6 and 7 do come up, but are not responsive thereafter. Clicks on any item that shows a hand when mouse over does not respond.

Uninstalled and reinstalled four times with the same results each time. Would sure appreciate help in finding a solution to this problem.

    Respectively,

    Russ

  4. I recently updated my versions to the most current 4937b & 6999m. About the same time I started have FSX crashes whenever I am using my acars system VAFS5.  It might be a fluke in timing but I want to try going back to my previous versions of FSUIPC & WideClient to rule them out.  Possibly VAFS5 does not know how to work with the newest versions of FSUIPC & WideClient??   If I am flying without VAFS5 I can fly for hours without problems.  How do I rollback to version 4934 and 6995 [downloaded these 8/13/2014]?   Also are these the right ones to match so they are compatible?

A little history on what is going on:    I have spent weeks trying to track down what is causing this.  VAFS5 has not had an update in a long time so I have been systematically taking an addon out to eliminate the culprit.  So far I have had no consistant success.  FSX will crash somewhere near 8-10 minutes after takeoff or very soon after I start VAFS5.   I have tried running VAFS5 on my FSX machine also with the same results.  Most of the error fault modules have been g3d.dll but is maybe only 90% of them.  I also get some StackHash_7333 errors with this issue.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

    Jerry

You are not alone in having this type problem. When I updated to 4937 my TrackIR 5 stopped working right after the update. Went back to 4934 and TrackIR 5 started working again. Pete stated IRT 5 did not use any version of FSUIPC. There was a mention that in adding P3D compatibility in 4937 something to do with memory was moved around. Your problem is the only other occurrence I have seen, so likely no other action will be forthcoming.

  5. Hi Pete,

This is for info only as I have already corrected the problem. First time in years of using FSUIPC4 that I have had any problem.

Installed FSUIPC4 4.937 without any problem (registered version). Next ran FSX w/acceleration and Trackir 5. After loading the aircraft, Trackir 5 began to lose connection with the yellow light on the left side of the IR camera flashing on and off with 5 to 15 sec. between this occurring. FSX remained active during this happening, but the picture changed to different random views while the yellow light was off and returning to correct view during the time the light was back on.

I removed FSUIPC4 4.937dll and installed 4.934. Everything worked as it should using the same flight and aircraft.

    Regards,

    Russ

  6. I sent the following message on 8/28/10 to support.fsps@737ng.gr but have not received a reply. The e-mail did not bounce as undeliverable. Unable to use the program and need assistance to resolve this problem:

"Bought this product today from Sim market and received serial number XXXX-XXXX-XX-XXXX-XXXX. Copied and pasted this number from the invoice page into the space for entering the serial number and hit continue. An error message pops up stating the serial number is invalid. I was careful to not have any extra spaces around or in the serial number. The Sim market order number is XXXXXX, purchased 8/28/10.

I am requesting assistance to allow registration to occur.

    Regards,

    Russell Tucker"

  7. After downloading the new KDFW airport file, Norton ran a scan on the file and found it contained WS.Reputation.1, which then Norton removed the file for both FS9 and FSX downloads without asking me for permission. Norton will not allow me to download and keep this file.

I had just before this downloaded the KJFK file from the same site (Dreamteam's site) and Norton ran a scan of the file in the same way giving notice that the file was free from any problems. I installed the KDFW file with no problems.

Anyone else having this problem downloading the KDFW file?

    Russ Tucker
