I have just made a discovery. If I first minimise FS to the taskbar and then click inside the FSC map window, I am now able to move around, zoom in and out etc. However if I leave FS maximised and switch to FSC (for example using Alt-Tab), if I then click in the FSC window, this then switches me straight back to FS. When I am flying I usually switch between FS and external programs using Alt-Tab. I don't want to have to mess around with minimising FS first. This cannot possibly be the correct behaviour.

I have recently installed FSC and am having a problem when connected to FS. I have been reading through the manual and it does not seem that what I am seeing is how FSC is supposed to behave. Before I go any further I guess you'll want the details of my setup.
FS9.1
FSC version 8.6 build 200210
Unregistered version Z - connected via FSUIPC 3.960
Database Manager build 021209
Download version fsc86.zip
Windows 7 Home 64 bit
I don't think this is a hardware issue, but in case it helps, I have a system based on a Core i7 860 (2.80 GHz), 4 GB RAM, 1 GB GeForce GTS 240 graphics card.
I installed FSC in accordance with the special instructions for Windows 7. It is installed under C:\FSC and "for all users". I have FSC installed on the same machine as FS, and I use a single monitor.
The problem comes when I am connected to FS. Whenever I click anywhere with my mouse inside the FSC window, this switches me immediately back to the FS9 window. It is as if clicking on the FSC map effectively "minimises" FSC to the taskbar and switches me back to FS. I have found that I am for example able to zoom in and out by left and right clicking on the zoom field at the bottom of the screen, but this takes me into FS, and I have to switch back to FSC to actually see the FSC map with the requested changes. This strange behaviour makes moving around the map to check your route etc extremely laborious, and I cannot believe that this is what I should be experiencing. I would emphasise that this happens only when connected to FS - when I am disconnected I can move around the map freely.
FSC looks an excellent replacement to my now obsolete FSNavigator, but I really want to check out this problem before I register FSC. I would therefore be very grateful for any help and advice you can give.
FSC "minimises" on any mouse click

So if I understand this correctly, this is an unavoidable consequence of running FS and FSC on the same system and the same monitor. Is that correct? And am I also correct in saying that if I installed WideFS and then installed FSC on my laptop, this would no longer be a problem? (FS is installed on my desktop machine.)
