Could you try changing aircraft, please? Maybe that will make it scan.Doesn't work.

This is weird. I do remember though that the macros did actually use to work properly for a time when I was trying to assign the anti-ice to a do nothing command for the A2A cub which was working successfully.

Okay, I updated PFC HID to 1.40 and simplified my macro file so that it only contains:

Is it only the "do nothing" control not working? Surely if you assign to an operative control it works?Nope, I tried, for example, to assign the avionics switch to heading decrease( just for the purpose of testing obviously!) and again the macro did not work.
There would be very many more support requests here if that all suddenly stopped working, so maybe the correct codes aren't being seen. That should be easy to check with logging.And how exactly can I log to see what is happening?

Try with your CUB mcro file as PFC.mcro, and with a default INI file -- i.e. no special aircraft sections.
Tried, and still no change just like as before. It seems as if the software can't do its job properly if the hardware isn't up for it.

Before going on further, I would just like to remind you that the control chip for the console is suspected of being somehow damaged as the C2 pro console is not fully functional as I said. (some particular switches don't work, the entire avionics stack doesn't work properly and the trim system is also not working)
Even in the previous post when I used PFCHID 1.35 (the updated version that, according to your own testing on your own PFC hardware, fixed this macro problem) I still continued to have the same issue that the macros weren't working at all.
Anyways, I will still do that test you gave me and i'll se what happens. If it doesn't work, maybe its best to wait for me to get my hands on the new controller chip, and get the system fully functional. In any case, I will still do the test you just gave me and will report back soon.

If you read the last page of that thread you will find out I had really annoying problems with my system. In its current state it is semi functional (i.e. some switches don't work, the trim doesn't work etc.. but this should be fixed with a new controller chip coming to me soon from PFC...)
So, is the problem you are reporting that the "do nothing" command doesn't "do nothing", or that the CUB.MCRO file is not being selected?After the tests you have asked me to do, the plane behaved like there was no macro (i.e. the changes that you suggested I make did not have any affect on what I previously reported), so I am guessing that the macro file is somehow not being selected.

Unfortunately the macros I am creating don't seem to be working with the console again.
For example, I have a macro created for use with the A2A Cub. The file is called CUB.mcro. The contents of CUB.mcro are shown below //( note that they are assigned 'Do nothing commands')
However, when I switch the avionics master switch to on using the console, it turns it on in the A2A cub, which is obviously not what it should do if it is assigned the 'do nothing command'

Failing all this I would tend to suspect an intermittently failing hardware component, maybe in the device or on the PC motherboard. Maybe PFC tech support can help narrow it down.

Well here's a quick but probably insignificant update:
I did manage to eventually get windows to recognize the PFC devices. PFC test GUI confirmed this. Then loaded FSX- and the C2 actually worked! One second later, it stopped functioning :mrgreen: Its just odd how FSX is deciding to refuse to notice the PFC hardware. After quitting FSX, if I try to unplug and then replug the C2 back into the computer, Windows doesn't recognize it! This way over my head now.
BTW in device manager I turned off 'Allow to turn off this USB device to save power' on all USB devices and still nothing works.
Could this somehow be a registry problem. Do you think an entire FSX reinstall would fix it?

By "absolutely nothing works" do you mean FS freezes or crashes, or only that no devices do anything? If so, it sounds like something is screwing up the USB device interface. Try unplugging all USB devices, check it then works, then replace them one at a time.

It isn't to do with PFCHID 1.33.
Windows is giving me an error: "one of the usb devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it"
I really don't know what to do now... Its like its one problem after another.

I followed your instructions. I loaded up PFC Test GUI (which is a PFC application to see if functions on your PFC hardware are indeed working) and everything checked out fine.
However, as soon as I load up a plane in flightsim absolutely nothing works! I have never experienced this problem before.

Followed your instructions and no baro, and NOW, NOTHING on the c2 pro works in fsx!
Its odd how it completely solves it on your end, and makes it worse on mine!

Okay, here's the deal.
I did the systematic approach as to what was causing the BARO knob to not work. I made my way through the entire list, and to my surprise I could leave all 13 of the macros in there and get the baro knob to work in EVERY airplane. HOWEVER, even though this even worked in the A2A cub, my CUB.mcro macros were not working in the cub!
Then I thought to reload FSX and load this time FIRST with the a2a cub- boom, no baro but macros exist AND the macros work across all of the default aircraft!
So in this case, If you don't load up the aircraft you created macros for first, then the macros will be ignored across all airplanes. If you do load up the aircraft you created macros for first, then the macros will be applied across all airplanes.
Quite the problem :blink:

Okay. Then, in that case, one of those other lines is diverting the BARO knob. So it's a process of elimination. There's only 13 lines there, and the culprit is one of the other 12, so try removing the last 6. If that makes BARO work, then the last 3, and so on, zeroing in on the culprit. Once i know that i can zero in direct on the relevant code.
