  1. The issue is that your XP machine is probably starting up before the Win7 machine and the path while it is set has not been initialised. To do that you need to open MyComputer and open the assigned path and then closing it. You will then find it works okay. This is the reason I asked that UNC paths be allowed because you need to do it everytime you restart the machines.

    Hi John,

Thanks John, no clue what UNC paths are but understand that it will find the paths automatically independed of the switching cycles of both computers!

That will be indeed a good solution!

    Kind regards,

    Frans

  2. Hi Volker,

Thanks for your quick response.....I managed finaly to save the flight plans to the right directories..!

I also installed the updated version of both exe files (fs9 and database manager).

If I have understand correctly it is usefull when adding new sceneries to synchronize the database.

Since the installation of FS9 I have installed : NL2000v4 sceneries, and Aerosoft Megaport : Heathrow, Frankfurt, Zurich, Innsbruck....

So it is worth while to make this synchronisation between FSX and FS9.

So I searched the scenery.cfg in the root directory C/ on the the W7 server (FSX is installed on separate drive).

I found it but it was still dated 2006 (no changes or wrong file?).

As indicated by the databasemanager software I copied the file and renamed it and placed it into

    the FSX root directory.

(FC9 is installed onto the remote XP computer). I select within the datamanager the first column and direct it

to the path where FSX is installed. The column updates and shows the FSX directories but the second column

is not able to find the renamed sceneryCFG file.

    Questions :

    1) What do i wrong?

    2) Why is the scenry.cfg file still showing an old date despite installing the new sceneries?

Hope you can help me again?

    Kind regards,

    Frans

  3. Just a short comment from me.....I very green as well....started last december and user of FSUIPC and WIDEFS.

For me it works perfect....but you certainly should now look also at a FREE WARE program called LINDA..You still will

need FSUIPC and WideFS if want you want some remote computers connected..but LINDA makes programming buttons

and controls very simple....I love it....

    Kind regards,

    Frans

  4. Dear Sacha,

Since december 2010 I have a new adiction : FSX. I also use FS Commander 9.0 from scratch and I love it!

    Many happy world wide landings.

I'm operating FS Commander on remote XP PC by means of WideFS and it is working great. FSX is working in

Windows 7 environment on a seperate SSD as you advised to do in your forum. But from the start I had

problems saving the flight plan in the correct directory on the W7 computer. I mounted the FSX drive on the XP

as a network drive as suggested in your manual. Under the options menu the nework is drive is visible. The FSX drive is fully shared and all permissions are given. Sometimes is works sometimes it doesn't...what is clear however is that i need to go to the options every time I start up FS to set the correct path...it look like that FS9 does not store the link (also not after pressing close) after closing the program. I now manual copy the file from the XP to W7 computer.

I bought my first add-on aircraft last week : the PDMG737NGX. So I want to use the option to save the FSC flightplan as a PDMG file in the FSX directory. In the option menu I set the path to the PDMG directory (networkdrive is visible). Then I go back to flightplan and choose...save as..and than I recieve an error message that the FSX directory is not correct....I have some print screens shots in word.format for you but how do not know how to include this with this post. Should it be a pdf or zip file?

Please be so kind help me getting this issue solved!

    Kind regards,

    Frans

  5. Hi Peter,

    2.nd reply...

Indeed I'm Frans van der Meij.

I'll understand now that I have spend >50 euro for two keys which I even can not open any doors with?

I'll use FSX so I have bought/selected the wrong key in that case?

I will print out the screen (as said earlier)...perhaps you can solve this in another way?

How big is your heart for a FSX starter? Can you send a key for WideFS7?

Anyway thanks for the info sofar!

    Kind regards,

    Frans

  6. Hi Peter,

Sorry to keep you waiting for a reply.....

Please first replace novel by novice....but I beleive you already noticed that after reading the first complete message :-P !

Concerning your remark : buying FSUIPC4 not required for use with VRInsight after reading your reply I took some more time to go

through the manual. again...and indeed it says.....not required registrating.....ok so I spended Euro 28,56....... I bought it 28th december 2010.

I just went back to Simmarket to look how the procedure is shown now, but it is really different from what it was in december. I selected both

at that time I received a key for FSUIPC4...Is the value of Euro 28,56 correct for both? In which cases should I require this key then?

You asked where did I read the rubbish? On the OFFICIAL PETER DOWSON PAGE (http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html) which I perhaps

wrongly described as 'your' website. I as a novice reading the text below...I did understand that WideFS7 is included?

    FSX

    FSUIPC4 4.60

NEW Full release of FSUIPC 4 (incorporating WideFS 7) for use with FSX March 3rd 2010 (3.3 MB)

WideServer7 is built into FSUIPC4, you will need the WideClient from the WideFS link below.

Perhaps I'm mixing things up here but to me it is simply not clear.

Anyway after reading above text I registrated the key WideFS7 at Simmarket but I received probably a wrong key? I really need FS7 since I use FSX.

I can send you the official purchase documents. Can you please assist me in getting the right WideFS version?

I checked my name but I did not make any mistakes when registrating, I simply got the wrong version I pressume?

Kind regards..and thanks for your patience....

    Frans

  7. Dear Peter,

Here´s a message form a novel user of your FSUIPC software.

After reading several websites I discovered that i had to use FSuipc to operate a VRInsight Combo panel with FSX.

My operating system is Windows7 64. So I visited your website and saw that I had to buy the software at the SimMarket site.

I also read that WideFS was included in FSUIPC software. So I visited the SimMarket site to order the software. On the

site there indeed was an offer to buy a combined package. But wat ever I clicked there was no real confirmation

that when buying FSUIPC I also would receive WideFS. So at the end (28/12-2010) received a Key for FSUIPC4version...

but no information what so ever on Wide FS.

2 weeks ago wanted to work with FScommander on a network PC so I needed the WideFS functionality. So I went back to

your website and read that I needed to buy WideFS 6.78 for it's WideClient.exe. So I went back to Simmarket and received the key.

Today I had some time to do the nework installation. I wanted to add the WideFS key (by running the FSUIPC installer) but

it will not recognize the key......I bought the 1-off Pete Downson WIDEFS6 package for Euro 23,80!!

I can send the offical purchase documents if that is required?

Can you please help me out here?

    Kind regards,

    Frans
