    So, is it a this visibility layer, or a cloud, or is the actual layer's visibility being changed back and forth? What do AS say? Have you used FSUIPC's weather logging to see what is happening? You could also use the little demo application "WeatherSet" to check (see download Links subforum).

    I'm afraid i can't really say whether FSUIPC's facilities will defeat whatever it is AS is doing. Unless AS know what is going on all you can do is experiment and see. I've not used FS9 for years now but i don't remember anything like that with AS6.5 and FSUIPC.

    Sounds like a little haze layer added by your weather program, to make the ground look hazy from above.

    Not specifically if you are already in the surface layer. You can set the minimum surface visibility, differently for different cloud conditions, but all the other visibility options concern the area above the surface layer. Have you enabled FSUIPC's visibility smoothing? If so check its parameters too.

    [/size][/font][/color]Are you sure it's a visibility thing and not a thin cloud layer? Check the haze option(s) in AS.

    You might want to ask this over in the AS support forum as they have more idea of what the assorted AS options do over there.

    Visibility smoothing is enabled by default by AS at 10% every 2 secs.

    In AS, depict FS layer is unchecked.

    Hi Pete,

    for the problem that you know, I'm back from ASE to active sky 6.5.

    In ASE, I have the minimum surface visibility = 0 sm, maximum surface visibility = 100 sm, maximum upper visibility = 50 sm reached to the upper altitude of 5000 ft AGL.

    In your opinion, what parameters should I put in FSUIPC smoothing options?

    Yes Jim, the clouds are the same.

    In ASE, there are three options to prevent the suddenly re-drawn of the clouds.

    :

    - download interval (mine is set at the maximum = 30 minutes)

    - local suppression range (mine is set at the maximum = 200 nm)

    - suppression ceiling (mine is set at 10,000 feet because I fly between 11,000 and15,000 feet)

    Now work only the last option.

    When I grow to more than 10000 feet (I did about 20 to 30 nm of flight), ASE send to FS9 the new weather after deleting the old (but the new and the old are equal).

    This is difficult to explain, English is not my language, sorry.

    No idea why you did that.

    Nevertheless, I don't see anything FSUIPC can do which changes anything. What it does, weatherwise, is all under ASE's control, and you can see all that ASE does in the log. The failure to set the weather for LIQT is odd -- check to see if that is listed in the weatherstations.bin file in the same folder as your FS9.CFG folder.

    LIQT is Circeo, north of Rome.

    Strange because my plan was from Naples to Brindisi, south east.

    Still, there's no way FSUIPC can be making ASE send changes when it doesn't want to. Sorry, you need to look elsewhere.

    You could enable Weather logging in FSUIPC. when this anomaly occurs, close FS and check the log, see what weather inputs and changes are recorded there. If it is an ASE problem I would think this information would help. If you want me to look at it then paste a suitable extract here showing where it is occurring. Note, however, that I am on holiday soon until June so I may not get to it till then.

    Ah okay, I see. So it is effectively controlling what ASE sends to FS. If ASE isn't sending those changes, I wonder why this user is seeing them? FSUIPC doesn't apply any changes itself, and especially not to clouds. Of course it can limit changes (as in smoothing), but not make any.

    I think I see why you suspect it might be something peculiar to his specific system. Something odd with some settings someplace? Must be a coincidence that he's only just noticed after updating from FSUIPC 3.98 to 3.99.

    Hi,

    Since I installed version 3.99 of FSUIPC (registered), local suppression range in ASE no longer works.

    All options in FS9, ASE, FSUIPC have remained the same.

    I pushed by default and all wheather off in FSUIPC, but it served only once.

    FS9 and ASE are in C: (as before).

    No one has had this problem?

    Unfortunately, I have not stored FSUIPC 3.98 and I can not return to the previous version.
