  1. Hi Sascha and Volker,

Neither I am understanding much what is happening! As I wrote already I have already done steps a to d but when the database finishes, usually the buyer could run the software he bought, at least that is what I expect when the database manager finishes. In my case I have no option from where to run it. It is as if the only option is to go on the simmarket website to buy the full version.

As regards step c, I am trying to install it from the free simmarket download, which is only the first step and not the full version.

As described on your manual, page 7 section 1.3 'To get started', ......"When you start FlightSim Commander afterwards, the following introductory window will appear". In my case there seems to be no file where I can start 'Flight Sim Commander'.

  2. Hi Kenneth,

I would be most happy to help you, if I - or a few other people I showed your post - understood what you are talking about.

Of course, nothing happens. What do you expect to happen if something's finished.

you don't have to buy a new registration key because the key you got from SimMarket is still valid.

The only thing we can advise you to do is somewhat radical.

    a. Use our fscsetup.exe to de-install FS Commander

    b. Delete the complete folder in which FSC9 was installed

    c. Install FSC9 again

    d. run the Database Manager

    e. run FS Commander

    f. choose menu About --> Register

    g. enter the data as they appear on the SimMarket registration mail

    Regards

    Sascha & Volker

  3. Hi Sascha,

Could you kindly advise on what further action I could take. FSC9 is only working till the point of updating the airports etc of FSX, i.e. from the version available on your internet site. After that it states 'Finished' and after I exit nothing happens, and I do not wish to pay for another registration key when I had already had paid for one.

    Hi Sascha,

    Thanks for your reply.

When I had installed FSX I had to remove FS2004.

When I ran the FSC9 database manager it accepted FSX, but then it only indicates that it is an unregistered version no.3 and stops there. There is no way for me to enter into the section where I could choose FSX on the Display tab of the Options window and neither in the 'About -> Register'.

When I tried to check as regards the 'read only' in the .exe file, all I found was the FS2004 .exe file which is not read only.

    Hi Kenneth,

I'm somewhat confused about what you did, because version 9 - as well as all previous versions - are BOTH for FS9 and FSX. So there is no need to de-install and re-install the program when you switch from FS9 to FSX. The only thing you need to do is to choose FSX on the Display tab of the Options Window. Of course you have to run the Database Manager first to create the necessary databases for FSX.

You are NEVER PROMPTED to enter the registration key you received from SimMarket. What you need to do is to enter the registration key you received from SimMarket in the About --> Register.

    Sascha

  5. Hi Gary,

I have a similar problem to you and in fact I had posted it as a new topic "Transfer from FS2004 to FSX".

Last May I had downloaded the setup program of Flightsim Commander 9 and then bought the registration key from SimMarket and installed it successfully for use with FS2004. In the meantime I now purchased FSX, so I uninstalled FSC 9 from FS2004 to install it on FSX. However I am not being prompted to enter the registration key and the installation is not complete. Though the process of updating the airports is done, nothing happens afterwards, and the option to update the airports is still being highlighted. It seems that only the evalutaion version is being accepted and it does not support registering again!

I have FSUIPC 4 and use Windows XP and I do have the registration key available.

I queried on the Simmarket support site but they told me that I should contact the producers' support forum.

I don't know Sascha's or Volker's e-mail but I am sure they follow this forum on a regular basis and they answer via this forum.

    Regards

    Kenneth
