  1. Josef;

    I have just added a couple of TNGs under TTools. Basically you simply append "TNG" to the arrival time and the aircraft will do TNGs until that time. If the travel time between airports is, say, 1 hour, make the arrival time 2 hours after departure and the AC will do TNGs for 1 hour before landing.

    In the example below the travel time is about 15 minutes so the aircraft will do TNGs for an hour after arrival.

    AC#28,XXXX,10%,12HR,VFR,13:00:00,TNG14:15:00,30,R,0000,KHVN,17:00:

    00,17:21:37,30,R,0000,KMMK

    In the next example the aircraft does TNGs for an hour twice a day all from the same airport .

    AC#28,XXXX,10%,24HR,VFR,13:00:00,TNG14:00:00,30,R,0000,3B9,17:00

    :00,TNG18:00:00,30,R,0000,3B9

    I have no idea what all this looks like when compiled.

    I have noticed in TrafficBoard that an error message is generated if the arrival and departure airports are the same.

    Hope I have been of some help.

  2. Josef;

    Thanks, I have now registered and my modified airports show up....to a point!

    As reported in another message all my modified airports show numerous lines connecting all the nodes.

    Also the airport map for the modified airports shows only a green background until the magnification is quite high.

    I'm sure all these problems will eventually be worked out. No doubt that's what the Beta is for.

    One last question. Will it be (or is it) possible to add TNGs?

    Ted

  3. Josef;

    Great job on the new 2004 version! I've really been looking forward to this. I am still having two problems, though:

    1. I can't register the program using my old user name and registration even after adding the update.

    2. The program does not see my additional facilities, those modified using AFCAD2 located in the ADDON SCENERY folder. I am only able to scan the original airports.

    Thanks for any help.

  4. Fred;

    Problem 1:

    I am not familiar with ADDITPRO but you may have to add the new runway to FS with AFCAD to be sure that the runway is recognized as a runway by FS2002. Use Lee Swordy's TrafficTools Program.

    Problem 2;

    It may be that you are running FS2002 with the AI traffic percentage at a lower value that that set in the Trafficboard flight plan. For instance if you set your TrafficBoard flight to a Traffic % of 50 and you are running FS with an AI traffic percentage of 30, you will not see the flight.

    Good Luck,

    Ted

  5. Thanks Josef;

    I really like TrafficBoard and find it very easy and convenient to add exactly those ai aircraft I am interested in. Basically I fill my personal skies with GA and commercial turboprop aircraft. TrafficBoard is a very efficient and convenient way to do this.

    I look forward to FS2004 and your TrafficBoard update.

  6. Actually helicopters can be used as ai aircraft. See the Hover Control internet site. I have just added one using TrafficBoard.

    I am still having some problems as the helo takes off, circles around and lands at the same airport but it indeed shows up and takes off on schedule. I suppose I'll eventually work out the problems.

    The take off and landing characteristics of these aircraft leave something to be desired but they do work.

  7. Since purchasing my CH yoke I've always wanted to program a button to initiate the reverse thursters on turbo aircraft but it seems impossible using the Options, Controls, Assignment menu on the FS2002 toolbar.

    There was a nice article in the most recent Computer Pilot describing some of the functions of FSUIPC. It is possible with FSUIPC. I programmed button 1 on the yoke for F2 and now I can land the Twotter and initiate the reverse thrusters without taking my hands off the yoke.

    I also programmed button 2 for F10 which brings up FSNavigator (on my system) which I then undock to a second monitor. Alternate pressings of button 2 then bring up or remove the FS navigator screen. I find this very convenient when flying the Twotter. Overhead, autopilot, GPS, radios, and engine controls are also on the second monitor leaving the primary monitor uncluttered.

    Hope this helps someone else out there!

  8. OK;

    I think I have the solution to the 'engine cuttoff issue' experienced by myself and some other customers.

    On the FS2002 toolbar:

    Go to Modules

    FSUIPC (assuming you have it - and get it if you don't)

    Joystick

    and set the mixture control

    Engines then shut off when the mixture control is set to "cutoff" and you don't have to program a button or keystroke.

    Hope this works for others.

  9. Thanks for the suggestions but nothing. works. I have found that several other D/L Twin Otters give me the same problem but not all of them. Most aircraft engines shut down when the mixture is set to cutoff.

    I find I can get the engines to stop if I program a button on my yoke to "engine shutoff' but I shouldn't have to do that. Anyone else having this problem? :cry:

    Is there some setting I should make that I haven't figured out yet?

    I definately like the product

  10. I have tried everything I can think of to shut down the engines of the TWOTTER but I just can't shut them off. I have shut off every switch available and turned the power to idle and the mixture lever to shutoff and the engines just keep running!

    How is this done? I'm wasting gas!

    Ted

  11. I tried the modifications you suggested (except for the flap extention time) and found them to be a great improvement over the conditions issued. I can now land without bouncing down the runway like a yo-yo. I think there is still room for significant improvement but these are a great help. Thanks so much. I was about to give up on the Twotter although it is one of my very favorite aircraft. I used to take these all the time commuting to New York on business. Now that I'm retired I can fly them.
