Hi,
I am willing to bet that you have done the performance tip where you change the memory usage from "programs" to "system cache"
I have seen similiar corruption after doing that, reverting back to programs solved the issue.
-
Aaah I had a hunch that that may be the case, thanks for the clarification and for your time :wink:
I'll shut up now!
-
Hi again, this deserves a bump because I don't want to create yet another petty thread. I guess the fact that this is so lame it goes to show what a great product this is :lol:
But any reason why I am getting duplicate powerlines?

Holger you are going to kill me :D
This will teach me to mess with FS settings and cook and hold conversations with the wife at the same time.
Sorry about that!
[DISPLAY]
UPPER_FRAMERATE_LIMIT=21 <- I was changing this one because I wasn't paying attention.
TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=200
[TERRAIN]
TERRAIN_ERROR_FACTOR=100.000000
TERRAIN_MIN_DEM_AREA=10.000000
TERRAIN_MAX_DEM_AREA=100.000000
TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL=21 <- This was at 20 and now it works fine at 21.
TERRAIN_TEXTURE_SIZE_EXP=8
TERRAIN_AUTOGEN_DENSITY=5
TERRAIN_USE_GRADIENT_MAP=1

Hi Holger, it happens at all the settings.
It's obviously some errant files from another addon but I don't know what.
I might just take the leap into the flatten switch learning :)

Tongass..........
Now now, the guy asked a civil question, no need to be rude :lol:

But if anyone has any idea what causes the triangle on the tipella runway.

I'm all ears!
Nothing special added in there so I hope that maybe one of you guys have seen it before, if not don't lose any sleep over it :)

I know this thread is just about dead and burried now
Well I think they are too, a quick glance at their support forums and they are getting around 1-2 posts a week. Sadly it seems they are slowly starving themselves, quite unfortunate to see what was a hub of activity and creativity destroyed by software pirates, which is where the blame lies ultimately.

It is not all bad..... just that quite a few normal people had abnormal experiences with them. Their products are good..... :wink:
Yep what he said, unless I am not considered normal :)
If you view the Avsim user survey you will find my theory replicated perfectly. In the FSD customer service section there are not many "ok" votes. The results are almost polarised, with around half of the people saying the sun shines from their backsides, the other half saying they won't go near them with a barge pole.
It's quite eerie, but I keep saying that the products are excellent and represent great value for money. It's just a shame I can't buy them, I can't even view the webpage as they have blocked my ISP. :roll:
-
e - I have just registered a new domain: http://www.eagleskinner.com
Better watch out that that the animal activists don't come after you :lol:
-
Well it can't be just a co-incidence that FSD posts along with Ariane usually end up as a flame war and are locked or deleted. I know I have had my run in with them but that was 2 years ago and it is all water under the bridge.
Some people have great and fantastic service, it seems that if you catch the big Aussie (we all know who) on the right day you can look forward to a lifetime of great service and as many license resets as you like. A free pass into the "FSD glee club" as one other user calls it.
Catch him on the wrong day and you will get it reset once and all subsequent mails will be ignored. Obviously I caught him on the wrong day :)
However I do think they should employ a new person to just handle things like server resets and general customer service. Unless of course their mission is to have no customers left to bother them, in which case I will say "keep up the good work" :)
-
It's just fantastic!!!
-
Trouble is... if everybody stops buying it, I'll have to stop writing. And if I lower my writer's fee, I also have to stop writing ..... life is full with dilemma's 8) 8) :roll:
Tough at the top eh Francois? :)

I know what you mean David, still at least with a printed mag you can take it out of the house (or to other *cough* rooms in the house)
It is too expensive though, I only subscribed when they had the crazy reduction in price in the summertime (50% off I think)
Certainly I wouldn't subscribe if the price was normal, for the same reason I won't subscribe to AOPA the postage costs to Europe are just too heavy.
Still I will enjoy the remaining 8 issues.
-
That should be fun. Maybe I should subscribe LOL.
You should Tom, it's a really good read, though a tad heavy with the adverts at the moment.

Let's see if there are busses and rolls royces available in the FS Cargo model list then :wink:

Richard went through a very difficult and sad time since then..... privately. I believe that may have to do with it :cry:
Aaaaaah ok I didn't know that, fair enough then. I hope he recovers well and gets back to work.

**edited to remove some text pressuring for an update**
My deepest sympathies to Richard and his family.

Nice that I am useful for something Francois :P

I haven't seen an email requesting membership..... ??
I haven't sent it yet Francois , I just wanted to check how it all worked.
:oops:

I can't find the FAQ concerning how to setup this multiplayer.
Also no EFFC number (not yet at least)
Looks like my cup of tea though, I just need a shove (especially the FAQ part)
The Emma site "resources" section has it listed there, but no actual FAQ.
Paul.

The trick is to first run the batch file, this renames the files it needs to.
Then run FS2004 to install the new bgl's etc.
Then just dump the contents of the zip file straight into the Harvey\scenery folder overwrinting everything that it asks.
Then you should be good to go.
-
Any news on that installer Francois?
Really looking forward to the patch :D

I would hardly call £5 a dvd a profit, I am sure that anyone on a dialup would love to have that stuff packaged and ready on a DVD.
Not condoning it, he just isn't making any serious money from that.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share them.
