The likelyhood of us allowing the enabling or dis-abling of the airframe de-icing is very slim, as this is not how it works in the real world. The Q400 is designed at best to simulate the real aircraft and most of the atmospheric effects that can impact the performance of the aircraft.

Thanks for your reply. I asked here for I know I would get a response from someone who understood the inner workings of the FSUIPC system. I posted something similar in the Airbus X forum (username: Kroswynd) but it has not been answered, and it appears that their forum is having some technical difficulties at the moment.

How are you? I recently purchased the Airbus X and to my surprise I was unable to utilize my PFC quadrant in the manner which throttles are intended to work due to some of the internal logic with the AirbusX. Aerosoft stipulates that although one can configure the throttles via FSUIPC you MUST also configure the throttles via the internal FSX axis to utilize the throttle detents of the Airbus. This obviously creates a bit of a problem for us PFC users since the quads are configured via the PFC.dll. I am probably going to ask of something which may not be possible, but is there any way that it is possible to program the PFC driver to show up as a device within FSX (Its a long shot...I may even be talking rubbish). I don't know much about the programming limitations within the awesome utilities that have allowed us Simmers vast opportunities. Also creating this option for just one add-on may not be worth the time.

It is sad to hear of the decision made but it is understandable, I too was somewhat shocked at the amount of entries that par-took. Maybe you should post a request for possible themes to get an idea from participants (just a suggestion).
So I take it since it was canceled there is no judging of the few entries :?: :(

I am using the latest versions of FSUIPC in both FS9 3.90 and FSX 4.52 adn I keep getting a strange reaction about 45 minutes after flight, usually if the aicraft is sitting on the ground for a long time, or sometimes after running FS-recorder. The power levers/condition levers/mixture levers fluctuate between max/full throttle and min/flight idle positions.
I am using a PFC serial port throttle quadrant and I am using PFC DLL2.307. any idea what may be causing such erratic behavior, especially since I am experiencing this in both FS9 and FSX.

I really appreciate the time you have taken to investigate this. I am going to start from scratch and re-install everything to see if I am at fault in anyway. I will touch base with Elite in the morning. It is really odd though, and I understand what you are saying about timing. If I delete the ini's I get it to work, but there after the messgaes keep coming back and the quadrant is not recognized at all.
I will let you know the final outcome, whether it be negative ot positive :lol:

Pete, here is the log with the bugging options enabled. The error messages comes on just before the opening screen comes alive. It takes approx 56 seconds before I get the error message.

Pete I have been one of proud supporters....of course it is registered :lol:
I have had Calvin at Elite Tech Support look at this. For some reason he is not getting this when he tests with the equipment in the Lab. I know you don't have any association with Elite since they write directly to the equipment. I am just trying to cover all possible bases. Sorry for being a bother

I know I have beaten this horse before, but I would like to beat the right side this time.
Since I have started using 3.22 have been having spuratic behavior between FSUIPC and Elite Throttle Quadrant Driver being able to initiate. I have e-mail and called Elite Tech Support and gotten assistance,they to have not been able to pin point exactly what is going on. I have had this problem before with one of the previous ver 3.12x for which you made a fix shortly there after, and every thing worked flawlessly. Maybe you can shed some insight on my dilema.
PROBLEM:
On starting FS, I get the error message
"The ELITE DRIVER needs FSUIPC version 2.92 or later installed in the
Modules directory. No version has been detected at all or FSUIPC could not be opened."
Sometimes I may luck out by closing FS2004 and restarting and the Throttle Quadrant will work. I can never get it to work the 1st time I start the Sim. there are other times that I cannot get the darn thing to initialize
with FS. If I start up the ELite Simulator it initializes and works
flawlessly. I am using version 3.22 (FSUIPC), I was experiencing this with
3.129 as well. I have gone into the Modules folder and deleted my Elite,
FSUIPC and PFC drivers and reinstalled one by one and received the same
results. I have run out of ideas. :cry: :( :?
If I delete the ini file and restart FS2004 they will work. Is it possible that there is a conflict with my PFC driver for my PFC Cirrus Yoke. An enquiring, confused mind would like to know. Thanks for your assistance on this matter.

One other question while I have you here. Elite has now made there Throttle quarants dependent on FSUIPC, is there anyway of making changes to throttle assignments through FSUIPC, I am particularly interested in the Fanda Dash 8. I am unable to get the Power levers to work independently for controlling engines 1 and 2. There does not seem to be any reponse when checking on the throttles pages for anything (PL, Props and Mixture) :? Even though Elite does their own module programming, is there anyway of changing up some of the throttle assignments. I am seriously trying to avoid buying a PFC TQ, I already have the mooney yoke so, I am becoming extremely tempted. My wife is trying to stop this process :D

Pete, How are you? I am having the same problem with my Elite dual serial throttle quadrant. I am getting the same error message, only problem is, the elite driver does not work after flightsim 2004 has started. It worked great with 3.125, but it is claiming that FSUIPC is not opening or there is a version older than 29.92. Any suggestions

Been an avaid use rof your products....and very content to this point. However, I am having a bit of a problem with my config usig a PFC Money style USB yoke, CH Products Rudder Pedals and an Elite Serial dual throttle quadrant. I have been trying to get the throttle to utilise the reverse function without much success. is it possible. When looking into FSUIPC I do not see any connection with the Elite throttles. The only way to tweak the throttles is through the Elite module for FS. When I get the throttles to idle position, if I use the "CTRL - F2" to engage reverse, it jumps back into idle.
Another interesting topic or aircraft situation. The Fanda Dash 8, I have been trying to map the throttles for usage but I get some rather bizarre results. I am unable to get independent power lever and condition lever responses.
Any suggestions, or is my equipment not tweakable because of the different modules. I am using ver3.11 and the PFC 1.71 modules. Thanks for any input if possible.

Hello Robert,
While I am sure this is permissible with FSUIPC, we have provided the Control Panel for the Q400 to make this an easier process, which can still be accomplished if you use FSUIPC to calibrate your device.
