Hi Pete and all,
I use offset 0BB2 to control the elevators. When simultaneously reading offset 0BB4 I do NOT get the same values as written in 0BB2. They seem to be scaled/calibrated in some way.
Writing 1000 into 0BB2 -> getting 500 from 0BB4.
Writing 5000 into 0BB2-> getting 2726 from 0BB4.
Writing 10000 into 0BB2-> getting 7380 from 0BB4.
Writing 15000 into 0BB2-> getting 14308 from 0BB4.
I have read some of the posts here in the forum. In the FSUIPC.INI file I found the line "AxisCalibration=No". I even manually deleted this line, but it keeps reappearing every time I start/quit FSX.
The 0BB2/0BB4 discrepancy still exists (by the way: it is exactly the same for 0BB6 and 0BB8).
What am I doing wrong? Can you help me please?
I am using the latest (registered) FSUIPC version 4.747 with FSX and Windows Vista. Installed FSUIPC just a few days ago.
Many thanks!

Hi Buddym!
I do not really have what you're looking for, but you got a forum PM... :)
See ya!

Thanks for your help and the *very* quick reply, Pete!!! :D

Hi guys,
can someone here confirm the following?
It seems to me that certain FSUIPC offsets are not updated as quickly as others. In fact, no matter how many times per second I make a FSUIPC "read" of e.g. offset 6020 (which is the GPS altitude) the returned values seem to update in a 1 second interval only.
Is this true or am I doing something wrong? :?:
Thanks for any comments!

Thanks very much for the hint, Flypfc! I am already playing around with these entries... :lol:
I somehow wasn't able to find out whether the spoilers really have an aerodynamic effect on the roll performance or whether they are a "visual effect" only? Do you know this?
Thanks again!!

Thanks very much, guys, for your helpful responses! You are great! :D

Hi Pete!
Ooops, I just noticed that the answer I posted on Sunday doesn't appear here... anyway I did some aircraft.cfg editing and the spoilers do move now according to elevator movement.
The only remaining question is: is this spoilers movement just a "visual candy" or does it have a real aerodynamic effect on roll control? I somehow wasn't able to find this out...
Thanks a lot anyway for your help!!

Hi Pete!
Thanks for your quick reply!
I was trying to use the spoilers as a "support" for the ailerons for bank control. This is just like real aircraft do this ("spoilerons").
My plane's ailerons keep loosing their effectiveness at decreasing speeds (IAS) and I wanted to simulate spoilerons to compensate for this effect.
But: when flying manually and giving roll inputs on the joystick I can see in the outside view that the spoilers DO move seperately (left roll -> right spoilers, right roll -> left spoilers). So it seems to be possible...somehow...but how? :?
Hmmm, too bad that this isn't possible. :cry:

Hi guys!
Made a search in this forum but unfortunately didn't find what I was looking for...
Is there a way to control the left and right spoilers SEPERATELY? I am aware of offsets 0BD4 and 0BD8 but writing to these offsets doesn't have the required effect.
Any help would be highly appreciated!
Thanks

Oh well, maybe that's worth a try! Hope I will be able to find the VB6 code example you mentioned! :-)
Thanks for the hint!

Pete,
thanks very much! You were absolutely right...there was a stupid little typo in my VB6 code which caused the calculation loose the fractional part. Corrected now and working. Perfect!
Many, many thanks!

Hi Herve and Pete!
First of all thanks a lot for your helpful replies!!
Please let me ask you one more thing...
When using Herve's code I have one problem: the calculated altitude in feet is not really "precise", in fact it changes in steps of about 3 feet. I guess that's due to the ALT->FT conversion, but is there a way to correct this and calculate the *precise* altitude value?
Thanks again for your support!!
Best Regards,

Hi guys!
Sorry for this rather stupid question... :-)
Could anybody here give me a hint how to convert the ALTITUDE values obtained from offsets 0570/0574 into one precise value? I am using VB6 and simply can't find the correct way to combine the HIGH 32-bit integer and the LO 32-bit integer into one precise value...
Any help would be highly appreciated!
Thanks a lot!

0BB2 elevators control vs. 0BB4 -> calibration/scaling?

Many thanks for your quick reply, Pete!
Well don't know why - I expected the control input (0BB2) and the position reading (0BB4) to be the same and thought there must be something wrong. But obviously it isn't. ;-)
Thank you, Pete!

Philip
