  1. Greetings Holger, I have been using Google Earth to lay the tracks for vessels and it has been successful and easy if you don't want to go to a dock. That requires a lot of trial and error adjustments. I have the Summit at Stewart and around the Misty Monument. The Island Princess and "Hama's" CG Cutter plying the waters at Ketchikan.

Give me your opinion of this process.

  2. I was anxiously awaiting the Pacific Fjords scenery from Orbx. I prepaid and downloaded

the scenery last night. I had a saved flight for Ketchikan which was my base for "Misty Fjords".

I had previously installed UT Alaska so Ketch was screwey and I had to disable the UT file for

Ketch to fix the problem. It is best to check the Alaska addons such as UT Alaska and the FSGenesis

airport adjustments before installing. My first impression is that this is not a replacement for the

"old" Misty Fjords. I was hoping for all the little "bits and pieces" marine traffic etc. that filled the Misty area. They aren't there but there are some cabins and numerous unlisted POIs. Holger published a file

with the coordinates that you need. Mesh wise, it has the "Master Touch" of Holger and provides the connectivity between Tongass and the Orbx PNW scenery. The folks that have the Instant Scenery package and have the creative instinct will have fun! I do not regret this purchase but I had hopes for a "Misty X".

  3. Needs a little work and doesn't have the balloons flying around but pretty good. They also spruced up the default First Air but not like what we had. They did a little with Packwood

but not like Joe's with Lauren's Restaurant :). It's good times for FSX... if you have deep pockets!

  4. An AFCAD isn't a requirement to enjoy the EMMA experience. Actually I prefer not seeing the yellow taxi lines and I don't need AI traffic at EMMA. Looks and works

    great without it.

No problem really. The AFCAD did not contain AI traffic. I don't do AI. It only contained hardened taxiways and parking ramps and of course gives the ability to show in the GPS or if you use Flight planner. Without the AFCAD, Emma won't show on any map.

It is a good job Ed. I just modified the afcad to suit me, ie dirt and removed the taxi line etc. Now I find myself hanging there alot. Thank you for this nice scenery.
