Okay, all fixed, I realize now what I hadn't done properly. Thanks! -Gord

If you check REV, whether in FSX itself or in FSUIPC, then the values sent by the joystick axis are reversed: ie they go from -16383 to +16383 instead of the other way, when sent on to the simulation engine. You talk only about right rudder action with a left "paddle". What about the other side, does the right "paddle" operate left rudder?
-> Yes the right paddle operates the left rudder
-> I can invert back with FSX invert box checked, but I really don't want FSX involved, it's conflicting with Win 8. I want to use FSUIPC entirely, because that's the only thing that seems to be stopping yoke drop outs with Win 8.
I don't know the "Eclipse" pedals -- are they separate pedals, with separate axis inputs by any chance, like pedals for motor car driving rather than flying? Normal aircraft pedals have only one axis, pushing left causes right to come back and vice versa.
-> Attached to the yoke, like an all in one system, not separate pedals, use your thumb and push in .
I know that some motoring pedals have a switch, or maybe a driver mode, for connecting the two sides as one axis. If so, that's what you would need to enable.
-> Product is designed for Flight Simulation only.
You might do better to get help with the pedals -- try www.ch-hangar.com.
-> They tend to use CH Manager software,
Why do you quit and restart? Don't you just press OK and test them out?
-> Because testing them out didn't work so I re-started, in case in was something that should be done.
Why? There are simple numbered steps in the FSUIPC User Guide, and in any case even the default calibration would work better than what you describe. It sounds more like a misunderstanding of your device.
-> To make sure I had tried all avenues of help before posting here. Hat in hand, more soup?
4.921 is the oldest supported version. You need to update in any case.
Done

Using FSUIPC to try a work around the Win 8 drop out.
Everything works (other axis and throttle prop mixture) but the rudders are inverted, pushing left rudder paddle on CH Eclipse causes a yaw right and the VC right pedal to move in.
Deleted the axis assignments in FSX.
Clicked the rev boxed re calibrated, quit FSX, re-started.
Read at least three tutorial pdf's to make sure I was calibrating properly.
I am stumped, anyone else experience this?
Installed 4.9 registered.
This is my last hope before I completely walk away from FSX.

Now I don't feel so stupid. Took me awhile too.
How do I get license keys for FSUIPC4 and WideFS 7
