  1. Hi Peter. Thanks for the help a couple of weeks ago, my squawk Mode C/STBY now works like a charm !! adds to the realism greatly. I just figured out 2 days ago, that my 700 series pmdg has a TCAS....heheh. I noticed that on their radio panel is has 2 switches associated with it. ABOVE & BELOW on one; and ABS / REL on the other one. Due to the success I had with the Mode C switch, I am wondering if there are associated bits to toggle for the TCAS functions? thanks greatly. ALso, where would I find a list of the settings available within FSUIPC? thanks Rick
  2. OK !! I got it. at least as far as the logging is telling me. Instead of using the togglebits function, I figured why not directly write the bit in? so here it is 1 T8 switch ( down position ) is set to: [when button is pressed] = Offset Byte Set x7b91 x01 therefore "UP" = Mode C [when button is released] = Offset Byte Set x7b91 x00 therefore "DOWN" = Standby 1 P8 button is set to : [when button is pressed] = Offset Byte Set x7b93 x01 therefore when button is pushed generates an IDENT box is also checked to "Conrol to repeat when held" [when button is released] = Offset Byte Set x7b93 x00 therefore when the button is released, the IDENT is cleared. That should have it. R
  3. Ok. It seems as though I was on the right track....UP for mode c, DOWN for standby, and then my P8 to IDENT.... I think I have it working, I did some tests with CYYZ tower, ( sometimes they are just too darn busy... :) ) I will use the logging screen as you suggested. thanks a bunch R
  4. I seem to be missing something here in all these posts. I have a T8 and a P8 from Goflight; and I want to assign the MODE C and STBY toggles to the T8 switch ( offset 7b91 ? ) and then when necessary to SQk IDENT ( offset 7b93 ?) assign that to my P8. I think I have done this correctly, but the ATC on Vatsim says that they are not seeing the indications at all. And, it seems there is no way to verify that the info is ever leaving my sim. I am running SQB3 on a second computer, Main FS on Computer 1, and using FSUIPC ver 3.75 ( FS2004) and wideFS latest version. Questions. for the T8 toggle, does the switch toggle the bit every up and down? or does it require a complete cycle of toggles ( up and down) to complete the bit flip? I noticed that FSUIPC only picks up one single throw of the switch, the downward movement is not picked up...... :( Please post detailed instructions on how to do this, for both the T8 and P8. thanks signed, Anxiously awaiting instructions. Rick
  5. Thanks again for the reply. I was thinking I was going to have to either look at the GoFlight SDK or the FSUIPC SDK. You have given me enough ammo now to be dangerous..... :) thanks a bunch
  6. Hi, and thanks for the reply so quick...!! I guess I was not totally thorough in my question(s). I saw the toggle Alternator items, however I was hoping to allow for use on a GoFlight switch, rather than using a button on a joystick; as there is no indication of what state the switch would be in without a visual of the panel; which I am endeavoring to not have in view. You see, the goflgith T8 module has indicator lights over each of the switches , indicating an on or off state..... So I think your answer is that I need to access Alternator 1 and 2, however the shortcoming now seems to be the T8's lack of ability to access that FlightSIm object....correct ? Rick
  7. OK. I am brand new at this, and I tried searching the forum for this before posting:) I have been flying the twin otter for awhile now, and have started to build a home cockpit around it. I am using the GoFlight Hardware, and trying to use the T8 module as a start point for various functions...lights, etc... However, I am having a challenge trying to match up the left and right generators; in the sim, with corresponding targets either in FS itself, or in the FSUIPC... All i can find within FS2004 or FSUIPC , is the master alternator toggle, which is a poor substitute. I don't even know if the battery will eventually drain after 8 hours in flight........me thinks that the battery should provide the intital powere to start the engines, then once started, the generators take over to power systems, then the battery can be shut down....yes ? thanks Rick Cloney Edmonton, AB Canada
  8. is it possible to use a second PC to run the Default GPS or the new Garmin 530 using the FSUIPC and WideFS ? I woul dbe interested in trying this ..... Rick
  9. I found the text in the fsuipc advanced manual, but was unable to find the lines in the fs2002.cfg that it talked about. I found the line in the fsuipc.ini file that referenced the mixture axis to the value 66292, but i don't know what to do with that info. What I have found is that when I "set" the reverser axis, I see the numbers move. When I fly, I cut the throttle, I have to assign a button on my Yoke to [decrease throttle], and then when I swith the axis the reversers deply. I want to cut the need to hit the [decrease throttle] completely. has anybody been able to do this?? :?
