Hello,
Latest versions installed from Thread: Updated modules
FSUIPC 4.939n
WideFS 6.999mPrepar3D v2_Academic_2.5.12945.0
I´m using two of the same PCs, running WideClient.exe.
At startup of one of the 2 PCs an error window occured (this happens not every startup):

Tried it, configured as a Toggle
Press: ALT (1=P64,28,K0,24)
Release: ALT (2=U64,28,K0,24)
The Menu Shows up, but stays there, does not hide.
Unlike in Windows, the ALT-Key must be Held down longer in FSX/P3D.
Kind Regards,
Thomas
-
Hello,
If i press the ALT-Key on the Keyboard, the Menu appears in FSX/P3D,
if i press ALT-Key longer, the Menu disappears,
that´s the way I know and do.
I use the Button Screen Facility in WideFS, press the ALT-Key (programmed as described in the WideFS USer Guide.pdf)
and the menu in P3D appears, as it should.
Is there any way to let it press "longer" , resulting the menu in P3D disappearing ?
Kind Regards,
Thomas

Finally, i´m glad got it to work. :idea:
Thank you for your effort and patience.
Investigated the log, and gone slightly deeper into the documentations and recent forum posts for examples and scripting techniques.
I put the script herein, maybe someone finds it helpful...
(hope there are no errors anymore...it gets loaded and it is working as i expect)
function gpsled(offset, value)
if
ipc.readUW(0x281C) == 1 -- IF BATTERY=ON
and
ipc.readUW(0x2E80) == 1 then -- IF AVIONICS=ON
if value ~= 0 then -- not equal ZERO
gfd.SetLight(GFP8, 0, 0)
else
gfd.ClearLight(GFP8, 0, 0)
end
end
end
event.offset(0x132C, "UD", "gpsled") -- NAV/GPS
Kind Regards,
Thomas

Have you really got 102 GF-P8 units connected to your system? GF numbers the units 0 for the first, 1 for the 2nd and so on.
102 was the Number of the device in FSUIPC.ini, as i programmed the button(GF-P8 Button), so i thought this number(102) is also the "Unit" Number which is used by Lua.
Have an event.offset on offset 132C and use the value passed to the function to set or clear the light accordingly. You can have the Lua loaded automatically using the [Auto] facility in the FSUIPC INI file.According to your advice and the "FSUIPC Lua Library.pdf", i tried as follows:
You should know, my programming skills are really, really poor...
Loaded via FSUIPC.ini
[Auto]
1=Lua Gps
function gpsledon(132C,1)
function gpsledoff(132C,0)
end
event.offset(132C, "UD", "gpsledon")
gfd.SetLight(GFP8, 0, 0) -- (Model GFP8, Unit 0, Led 0)
end
event.offset(132C, "UD", "gpsledoff")
gfd.ClearLight(GFP8, 0, 0) -- (Model GFP8, Unit 0, Led 0)
end
Doesn´t work.
Tried something other... :
if
ipc.readUW(132C) == 1
then
gfd.SetLight(GFP8, 0, 0)
end
if
ipc.readUW(132C) == 0
then
gfd.ClearLight(GFP8, 0, 0)
end
Also doesn´t work.
Sorry i can´t get rid of this...
Please give me another hint/example to sort my errors out.
Thank you!
Kind Regards, Thomas
-
Thanks for the hint.
Now i have researched, coming to this result as follows:
Created "gps.lua" , assigning the first Button of the GF-P8 Module
using drop down menu in FSUIPC-Buttons Facility as "Lua Gps"
-- Goflight Module GF-P8
--
-- Button 01
-- Button function(Offset:66375,0 TOGGLE GPS DRIVES NAV1)
-- LED function(132C 4 NAV/GPS switch, in FS2000 & FS2002. 0=NAV, 1=GPS)
-- Model: GFP8
-- Unit: 101
-- Button: 0
if
ipc.readUW(0x281C) == 1
then
ipc.control(66375, 0)
end
if
ipc.readUW(0x132C) == 1
then
gfd.SetLight(GFP8, 101, 0)
end
--
-- Button 02
-- Button function()
-- LED function
-- Model: GFP8
-- Unit: 101
-- Button: 1
--
-- Button 03
-- Button function()
-- LED function
-- Model: GFP8
-- Unit: 101
-- Button: 2
Toggle GPS DRIVES NAV1 is working, but no lights on the GF-P8 Module.
ATT no Button of the GF-P8 Module is controlled via gfconfig.
gfconfig is installed in its standard way.
Please give me another hint, whats wrong in my code, what did i miss out?
Kind Regards,
Thomas

I have read GFDisplay is not supported anymore, so i don´t use it(and don´t read the manual)
Now i don´t know which function/programm i should use, to solve my needs:
Using FSX and a Goflight P8 Pushbutton Module.
I have programmed a Button of the GF-P8 to GPS DRIVES NAV1.
Offset:132C 4 NAV/GPS switch, in FS2000 & FS2002. 0=NAV, 1=GPS
(I can also use gfconfig to do exactly this, but GF-P8 doesnt recognize the state
so when "GPS Drives NAV1"=ON, there is no active green LED.(I think gfconfig doesn´t support this.))
I want the LED light up when using the FSX-internal GPS (GPS Drives NAV1)
Please can you help me, what can i do ?

Thank you very much!
Again, works great and gives me a huge amount of new possibilities for controlling buttons.

Hello,
is it possible to add a second,third,.. "rule"(offset condition) to execute an action assigned to the button?
i want(for example):
if BATT=ON+AC ON GROUND then PM ELEC ND OFF
i tried as follows, but doesn´t work this way:
24=W281C=1 P109,3,C2984,0 ;GF-IGN-LEFT PRESS-PM Elec ND OFF(IF BATT=ON)
25=W0366=1 P109,3,C2984,0 ;GF-IGN-LEFT PRESS-PM Elec ND OFF(IF ON GROUND)
tried also:
24=W281C=1,W0366=1 P109,3,C2984,0 ;GF-IGN-LEFT PRESS-PM Elec ND OFF(IF BATT=ON)
Regards,
Thomas

Got it to work, and works perfect!
Thank you very much!

an "on" signal represents a change, and changes are signalled. The GoFlight interface does not do that.
Ok, I didn´t know that.That´s the point.
use the "InitialButton" option in the INI file (see Advanced Users guide)That´s the solution for me, and it works,
but how can i add 2 Initial Buttons?
Now i have programmed 2 rocker switches of the GF-T8 as follows:
PM Elec ND ON (Control sent when button pressed)
PM Elec ND OFF (Control sent when button released)
PM Elec EICAS ON (Control sent when button pressed)
PM Elec EICAS OFF (Control sent when button released)
I tried using numbering 1....2.
But this doesnt seem to work.
[buttons]
ButtonRepeat=20,10
InitialButton1=109,0
InitialButton2=109,1
1=P109,0,C2968,0
3=P109,1,C2969,0
4=U109,1,C2985,0
6=U109,0,C2984,0
Thank you !

Hello,
The PM Glass Cockpit lights up all his screens, when FSX-BAT MASTER is ON.
That´s ok, but I want to bypass this,
because i want to switch on the displays separately after FSX-BAT MASTER switched "on".
For this i programmed a Goflight T8 Module as follows:
In the fsuip facility "Buttons + Switches" i configure the rocker switch from the Goflight T8 as follows:
PM Elec ND Off (Control sent when button pressed)
PM Elec ND On (Control sent when button released)
I decided to configure the rocker switch(from the Goflight T8) in the ON-State
to an OFF command(PM Elec ND Off),
because i thought FSUIPC scans at startup all connected devices for their states of their buttons(pressed or released)...
But it seems, FSUIPC doesn´t scan the (Goflight)devices at startup.
I have to switch the rocker switch from the Goflight T8 one time, than the state is recognized and it works.
On the other hand, FSUIPC well recognizes a "Button in pressed state" immediately after FSX start,
when i use a simple HID Device(Joystick Controller).
What can i do here ?

Sorry, I'm confused. The "ShutDownHotkey" sends a shutdown notification. What's that got to do with starting apps?
I use this Hotkey to shutdown the apps on the client, if there are errors occuring. After 12 seconds the apps start again, so this is ok.
What is the problem you want to solve? 30 seconds at the start of each day? I don't understand.
There's a delay in the starting up of WideServer in the Server end, which is there deliberately to ensure everything is correct.
I didn´t know this. That´s the answer. I thought there is a setting in the .ini file which i didn´t figure out.
Thank you,
Regards,
Thomas

Hello Pete,
*FSX SP2*
*FSUIPC 4.80*
*WideFS 6.94*
*Windows7 64bit*(FSX-PC)
*Windows7 32bit*(Clients)
attached WideClient.ini+FSUIPC.ini
If FSX is fully up and loaded, it takes approx. 30 sec to start the App on the clients.
If I use the "ShutdownHotKey=83,11" than it takes approx 12 sec. to start the App on the clients.
I did not program any delay in the Wideclients Section,
nor did i change something in the Wideclients [Config] Section.
Is there a setting in any .ini file, to reduce/set this time to start Applications on the Clients?
Kind Regards,
Thomas

Ooopssorry. I pressed the wrong button and edited your message instead of replying -- my reply is below.
sorry.

I have many Applications which uses FSUIPC/WideFS.
How many Applications can ONE WideCLIENT handle until Performance decreases ?
And how many the Server ?
for example : on the Client there are 4 Programs which swap
Data with the Server.
Better to install 2 Apps on the Server ?
What is the better way ?
Hope you can find out what i mean... :oops:

Hello,
Is it possible for FSUIPC 3.xx or WideFs 6.xx to CLOSE a program,which i had startet MANUALLY ?
A application named "AlertPro" needs configuration at EVERY run-up (dont´t ask mey why...:?) using the Mouse ,so i used a so called "Mouse Recorder" which does the work for me(starting,configuration,hiding of "AlertPro").This Program drives and klicks the Mouse for me...
If i close FS ,then this "AlertPro" should also close.
(The Mouse Recorder closes itself, after work done)

Hello,
Is it possible to define a keystroke,which,when pressed reloads me the MSFS-internal (all 15 minutes updated) global Weather ?
Actually i define a Default-Flight with MS-internal global weather,
but the weather is always the same at startup,so i want to reload the weather,
but I dont want to go into the Menu,and press this buttons, because i don´t see me taking the Mouse into my Homecockpit :shock:

Hello Pete,
At this time , i have no PFC-Stuff.
I want to know this, for planning purposes.
I would not connect 2 RICs.
One RIC is in the Pro Console INTEGRATED.
The other RIC comes with the Digital Avionics.
Now i want to left all the Functions predestined for a RIC on the Pro Console(ADF,ALT,CRS,HDG,OBS), and program the (2nd)RIC on the Digital Avionics with other Functions using FSUIPCs Button Facilities...
Regards,
Thomas
-
Hello,
If i have one RIC on the ProConsole and the other RIC is connected to the Digital Avionics,can i configure this 2 RICS independetly from each other without loosing the Functions on the other RIC?
So i want to configure one RIC using PFC.dll and the other RIC using FSUIPC-Buttons Facility.
Possible ?

Thomas

Hello Pete,
I found out,WideServer begins his Service when the FS starts.
The RunReady-Applications on the Clients but only starts,if i create/select a Flight.
Would it be possible to let startup the Applications ,when the FS itself starts?

Thomas

Hi,
It seems,the MCP Kcodes (by Param) - Facility is not working.
Maybe i understand it wrong... Kcodes means KEY-Codes...?
whatever...
I select it,and enter "70" as the Parameter- 70 = "F"
"F" is on the PM-FCU ->Flight Director Button
But it doesn´t work.
---
Controlling the GlassCockpit with "PM GC Keys" works normal.
but there is also a Problem.
I have to press the Button 2 times to enable a Function...
...but i think this is PM-related...
Thank you
Best Regards,
Thomas
WideClient Error

Posted
indeed, the error only occured on the PC where the GoFlight-Modules are installed.
The PCs are the same, same hardware, same software (Project Magenta),
the only difference is the GoFlight-Equipment.
I now try with the GFDev.dll you adviced: 2.2.2.1
I found out immediately, this version [2.2.2.1] does response way faster on my inputs
(especially at the GF-P8) than my recent version [2.2.4.3].
as supplement here the 2 logs(both logs from the "problem-PC"):
