  1. Oh well :) -- I guess that means we just have to trust them. Thanks for the quick response, Pete! John
  2. Hi Pete, everyone! I hope you had quiet holidays :-). Perhaps you have a tip - Is there anyway to disable the GPS within the aircraft and disable any external positional data (ie to other programs using FSUIPC, like FS Navigator, etc.)? It doesn't have to be completely disabled, even just "breaking" the data would work (ie give false position reports). I would love to make a small tool for my online-server to force everyone to fly by radio-navigation, but I want to be sure nobody is cheating by using a GPS or anything similar. Thanks! John
  3. Ok, thanks, I'll try that! John
  4. Thanks for your quick answer, Pete! That's what I thought as well :) - now I have a photo-scenery-CFG and a normal one. Oops, my bad, I just noticed that it is based on the operating system, i.e. I can get the path the way you described. Too many test-computers... Can I get the process exe-name from outside of the FS (i.e. I'm running as an external program with access to FS through FSUIPC)? Or would it be easier to enumerate the process list and check for matching EXE-Files? Do you think there's a way to get at the name from outside of the FS? Otherwise I'll have the user confirm the correct CFG-File, if there are mutliple files in the path (now that I have the path ;)). The real reason I'm interested in the FS9.CFG-File is to read the following settings: Crash-Detection, Stress-Detection, Real-Weather activated. Just checking (the last time I found them here in the forum, these settings were not readable), these settings still aren't readable throught FSUIPC, correct? (If I could get at the FS9.CFG then that wouldn't be a problem ;)). Thanks for your time, Pete! John
  5. Sorry to drag up an old topic, but while trying to get the current FS9.CFG I noticed it isn't always so trivial: - The path is correct as you say in the users profile - The name however can be different: > if you create a different FS9.EXE-File (say fs9a.exe), it will use the matching CFG-File (fs9a.cfg) > also if you start the FS9.EXE with the parameter /CFG:xxx it will use this CFG-File > and then, as if that wasn't enough, if you use a german FS9, it will use "Anwendungsdaten" instead of "Application Data" Does anyone know how to find out which file the FS is currently using? I have heard this is also different in FS2002, does anyone know how it is there? It would be really great to be able to read the current settings :)) Thanks John
  6. Hi Pete, thanks for the clarifications! Just a small question, it's not really important but who knows, maybe I'll need it one day: I'm still not sure if the data in the table is in the FS directly (i.e. something Microsoft could use, maybe one day....) or if it's just stored in a FSUPIC-Cache (i.e. for guages also using FSUIPC)? I guess from the current standpoint it doesn't make much difference, it's just nice to have a look behind the wall :-). Sorry, I couldn't find this in the docs, could you give me a tip where to look? Also, I haven't tried it, but is it possible to read the multiplayer positions from within FSUIPC? I imagine it might be similar to the AI-positions, or maybe I'm wrong... That would open up an easier mapping via FS-Navigator (or what I'm working on). I guess I'll be off learning the multiplayer SDK in that case, thanks for the quick infos! cheers, John
  7. Hi! I'm looking for a way to push AI-Aircraft from an external program into the FS. I tried to do this with FSUIPC, but it doesn't seem to work (however, the new planes are shown in TrafficLook). The FSUIPC-Docs say I can't create planes but can generate the Data for AI-Traffic; what exactly does this mean? Are the new AI-Planes only internal in FSUIPC or are they 'really' in the FS albeit not visible? Is there any way to generate AI-Traffic otherwise, without setting a fix AFCAD-File for them? Or can I at least take traffic from my AFCAD-Files and modify them with FSUIPC? Or am I completely on the wrong track and need to create a multiplayer server :-( ? (Please excuse me if this is something that has been covered - the forum ignores short queries like "AI"...) Thanks for your help! John
