  1. Sorry - it was rude of me not to get back to you. The notification email went into my spambox filter so I didn't know you had responded until I checked it just now.

I have resolved the issue, I think. The crash was not due to an incompatibility with Fscene but with another plugin I was using. I had set some minor changes up on Xtreme FSX and they had caused the crash issue, not your software. I assumed it was Fscene because I had installed it at the same time I made the changes. To be honest I was expecting trouble with compatibility with Orbx, so when it started crashing I just assumed it was Fscene. It wasn't.

On an unrelated note, given that I can install Orbx and Fscene together, do you advise doing this? Or does one write over the other?

  2. Hi,

I bought FScene today for FSX (the megapack I believe it was called). I do have other sceneries, including OrbX and Aerosoft Antarctica, but I wanted something specifically that covers other parts of the globe including Africa so I gave Fscene a try as it was on offer and looked to be what I was looking for.

Unfortunately, after installing it I had a lot of crashes. I'd backed up the sceneries folder and on restoring the backup the crashes stopped, so it looks as if something on my machine is causing conflicts with Fscene. I'm guessing that the most likely culprit are the ORbX sceneries (England, New Zealand etc.) The reason why I think they may be to blame is because they have a requirement to alter the way MSFS deals with scenery. Do you have any idea why I may be experiencing a lot of crashes with FScene? If its not OrbX, what else could be causing it?

Is there a recommended way to install FScene if you have other scenery libraries to install? Should it be installed first, for example, or doesn't it matter?

    Thanks

  3. I'm not quite sure I understand what you're suggesting.

I'm trying to set up Flight Simulator X so that my zoom function does not need the + or - keys to adjust it. I want maximum zoom out without having to adjust it every time in the flight sim at the start of each flight.

Is it possible to adjust this permanently from your software? Given that Xtreme FX is designed to make Flight Simulator X totally configurable, I assumed there would be a function that could alter the zoom level permanently. Are you saying it is impossible to set the zoom level from your software? Or are you saying there is a way in Flight Simulator X to permanently adjust the zoom level without needing to use your software?

    Thanks

    Daniel

  4. Thanks, as I said, if I paste back the FSX.cfg file saved (backed up) right before the installation of FSPS Xtreme, all is fine. So, it must be indeed something to do with Xtreme.

And to be more precise (sorry, when I wrote the orioginal message I was a bit tired), when I start a free flight the a/c engine(s) is/are on. But, it/they die after a few seconds from the flight start up.

Hope this helps and I apologize for not been clear enough from the beginning.

    Best

    Nicola

I have this problem, too. I didn't think it was due to FSPS Xtreme but it might be. I assumed it was because I was using Ideal Flight 10. Are you using Ideal Flight as well as FSPS Xtreme? Perhaps a combination of the two causes this issue.

  5. Hello,

I've got Xtreme FX PC and find it to be very useful. The problem I have now is that I prefer to fly helicopters in MSFS and have always found a zoomed-out view to work best. I've found the configuration editor in Xtreme FX for the cameras under the FS X information tab and have found the default zoom setting within it for the virtual cockpit. It reads '1' as default zoom. I would like to zoom out by default, but am not sure how to set this. My favourite zoom setting is 0.3 when using the minus key within the sim, and I would like to set it for this level using the configuration editor so I don't have to adjust the virtual cockpit each time I load it up with the minus key.

Can someone tell me how to go about this? When I make any adjustment it seems to be ignored in the editor, so perhaps I'm going about this the wrong way.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks
