Using P3D V4.3 with the latest FSUIPC 5.132 I have run into a slight issue with the axis calibration process. If I start calibrating no matter what direction I try to calibrate an axis windows alerts me with a ping and the axis assignment cannot be set.
I have been looking through the internet for the past half hour for any subject related to this kind of issue, I found a few but none of them helped me.
In the meantime I have reset all calibration saves within FSUIPC (still using FSUIPC for controllers with all axis deleted within P3D) and the controls are working as they should within P3D, therefore is FSUIPC axis calibration really needed?

Thanks for letting me know.

That surely cannot be the SimConnect.INI file you have created and saved!!! That is some binary file -- a graphics PNG file, like the picture you posted, by the look of it.
This is going to take weeks at this rate!
Start again, create a proper SimConnect.INI file as instructed in the FAQ thread I told you to go to, and make sure you put in the actual path to FSX rather than type literally "path to FSX". So far you don't seem to have done that simple thing. :sad:

Hi Pete, I think I may have fixed the problem once and for all.
I took a look back at a few posts related to this issue, (This one: http://forum.simflight.com/topic/74451-sim-crashes-after-running-for-a-short-time/page-2
I read that this guy uninstalled/got rid of his Razer Nostromo Keypad from his computer. I also have a Razer Nostromo Keypad, I have uninstalled it, went into FSX to see if the results were positive. I did get the DLL error but I clicked on "Yes" and FSX loaded up. I re-booted FSX to see if the DLL error would pop-up once again, and it hasn't. FSUIPC is in the top menu bar while in FSX and seems to be working fine.
Could it be that these two programs are conflicting with each other, and causing such an error?
Thanks for your help.
Regards.

I have changed this...
<Launch.Addon>
<Name>FSUIPC 4</Name>
<Disabled>True</Disabled>....From "False" to "True" and I no longer get the FSUIPC.dll error popping up at start up to FSX.
<Path>Modules\FSUIPC4.dll</Path>
</Launch.Addon>

You posted a picture of the Properties of your SimConnect.INI file! Why? How's does that help me see inside it?
Please stop posting useless pictures. If you want any assistance, paste the text fromthe relevant files in a message!!

This is what is in that SimConnect file...

I do have a file that looks like a result of some sort. It says SimConnect with the text document style page with a settings logo covering it.
-
Please show me the INI file you used. I really find it hard to believe your system is that broken!
Pete
Here are the three files we have been talking about. If its hard to read due to the blurriness let me know an I will take another few shots.
Regards.
-
Entered my actual FSX module folder address nothing. Also tried a more convenient location but no file appeared.
-
Er, "path to FSX" isn't the real 'path to FSX', is it now? How is SimConnect going to write that file with such a bad pathname? Obviously you need to put in YOUR true path to FSX, not blindly copy the pro-forma file content!
Pete
Oh, sorry :???:
-
Assuming you made no errors in the SimConnect.INI file (perhaps you should show me it?), it sounds like SimConnect is screwed up. That almost always requires a Windows re-install -- i've certainly never managed to fix a SimConnect problerm without doing so. But perhaps you should first try reinstalling SimConnect -- find the SimConnect msi file in the FSX SDK and run that. Re-boot the PC.
Pete
[simConnect]
level=Verbose
console=No
file=path to FSX\Modules\SimConnect%01u.Log
file_max_index=9
Pretty much the way it looked when I first put it together.
-
First I would try deleting all FLT and WX files from the FSX files folder in your "documents" folder, and maybe the FSX.CFG file also. Then reload FSX and see if it behaves itself.
More information might also be obtained from a SimConnect log file -- instructions for this are in the FAQ subforum FSX HELP: Logging SimConnect
Regards
Pete
I can't seem to get the SimConnect.ini file to work. I named a text document to "Simconnect.ini" placed the text into the document but log doesn't show up.
As for deleting all the FLT and WX files as-well-as the FSX.cfg: that doesn't work either. Is there anyway you could take a look at my system via TeamViewer?
-
Is there a new FSUIPC4.LOG file?
The problem here is that the log is stopping at a place I've never seen it stop at before, not in any reports. In fact there's so little happening at that stage that it's difficult to understand. It does look as if something else is going on, outside of FSUIPC which is crashing.

This is all thats there.
I think my best bet is to re-install FSX and start from there!?
-
That hasn't worked. Renamed DLL file to "BACKUP dll" re-ran the FSUIPC installer and still getting the same error message as before.
-
If so, then there's some conflict somewhere, though I also run most if not all of the modules you do without problem.
You see that's what really annoys me! Less than 3 days ago I had a completely clean "bug free" "Crash free" FSX. We do something major to our computers and some FSX files get corrupted. Its a major disappointment, and I'm pretty annoyed about it.
Thanks anyway, just to confirm; its the DLL file I posted on here that I'm renaming?
-
Yes. Is that where it finishes?
Can you tell me what version of FSX you are using -- RTM, SP1, SP2 or Acceleration?
If hat's the end of the log file, FSUIPC is not even getting as far as connecting with SimConnect.
Can you tell me what other DLLs and EXEs are being automatically started when you run FSX?
Pete
I am running Acceleration with all the latest updates/service packs.
Yes that is all that's in the log.

There's no useful information for me there I'm afraid. Did FSUIPC4 even load? If it did start there will be a log file -- FSUIPC4.LOG in the Modules folder. If it didn't then the problem is either elsewhere, or it is still the SimConnect bug as described and discussed in that FAQ thread I pointed you to.

Please see the thread in the FAQ subforum entitled FSX fails to run after FSUIPC4 first installed .
I have put the FSUIPC Loader into my modules folder FSX boots up ok when I accept the FSUIPC to 'run' and yes to run everytime, but one more problem I have is FSX has frozen on the menu screen?!

Hi there, I recently tried to restore my computer to an earlier date (but failed to do so) somehow in the attempt to restore an FSUIPC.DLL got corrupted. Now I am faced with this error message everytime I try to load FSX:
http://s1313.photobucket.com/user/GeekinCloset/media/FSUIPCError_zps1fb969a2.png.html
Help would be appreciated, as FSX keeps on crashing with a G3D.DLL error.
Thanks in advance, Ciaran.
Axis Calibration Unusable
in FSUIPC Support Pete Dowson Modules
Posted
Thank you for the explanation Pete!
Luckily I was able to sort the issue out though just after creating this post. I hadn't removed the calibration from within P3D which seemed to have been causing some sort of conflict with FSUIPC, upon deleting both the rudder pedals and yoke from the calibration menu in P3D, I was able to calibrate the axis without issue in FSUIPC.
Thank you for your support as always Pete!
Regards
