  1. Hello Pete! I have checked in the Level-D Forum and the bad news are that AutoSave in FS9 will not save the FMC data. So we have to live with it! Regards,
  2. Thanks Pete for your help. I will try in the Level-D Forum to see whether someone has already addressed this problem. Meanwhile I will continue to use AutoSave. It will be a problem, of course, if I am in the approach phase, under ATC. But if it happens in mid-flight, it will not take long to load the data again into the FMC, although some information will be lost. Regards,
  3. Thanks Pete for your prompt reply. Yes, I have used the menu to save the flight. Then, to resume the interrupted flight, I go to "Select a Flight", where I can either chose the AutoSave or the normal FS file. But I have investigated a little deeper and found a difference: while AutoSave saves the WX and FLT files, FS saves one additional file, FMC. This explains the difference. Is there any way I can also have this file saved via AutoSave? There is in fact an additional difference: while the FLT file, saved via Autosave, has in average 9KB, the file saved by FS is 17KB (with the FMC file with 18KB). Regards,
  4. Although I have been a long time user of FSUIPC (registered) only recently I have installed AutoSave (with FS9, Windows XP). As I fly frequently online, AutoSave seemed to be quite useful, but I was afraid of its impact on framerate. After having been reassured by a fellow simmer that this would not be the case, I installed it. The problem I have felt is that not all information is saved, namely the FMC, which is restored in its initial state. I have been looking in this Forum for similar problems and found Peter saying in a thread that AutoSave only calls the FS save routines. From my past experience of saving flights in FS, this seemed strange to me. So today I made a test flight, where I saved my flight using the FS option. As AutoSave is saving my flight every 60 seconds, the result of using the FS or the last AutoSave file would be very nearly the same. After having saved the flight I exited FS. When resuming, using the last AutoSave file, the result was what I had got before: no FMC data. However, calling the FS saved flight it was OK. Why is this so? If AutoSave only starts the FS saving routine, why is the result different? Regards,
  5. Thanks for the information! I will do that. Regards,
  6. I have seen that a new version of FSUIPC is now available. As it is the first one after I have registered, I would like to know the procedure to follow: is it enough to replace the dll as before? Regards,
  7. Thank you for your suggestion Pete! I think that it is a wise way of getting what I want. Best Wishes!
  8. Thank you Pete for your remarks on the issue I have raised. I know that when I save a flight I keep all parameters that were current at the time the flight was saved. This is useful when you repeat the same flight. However, when you want to fly a particular aircraft in several flights, it will not work. I usually re-size and move the ATC window from the centre of the screen to the upper left corner, in order to reduce the obstruction of the sight ahead. The same happens with some other panels, such as the pedestal in the default 737: I usually move it from the upper left corner, after performing a substancial re-sizing, to the area of the oil gauges, where it does not hide anything important. And the same applies to other situations. But I understand your point, so I will try a way around! Merry Christmas!
  9. Thanks a lot Frank! In fact I rembered that in FS2002 I had made adjustments in some aircraft I would fly frequently following the procedure I had read in an article. The problem was that when FS2004 appeared I could not remember which article I had read. So now you just come out with it. It is a pity that FSUIPC cannot provide a hand with this issue: it would be great if, after a pop-up window is scaled and put in a particular place, we could freeze it using FSUIPC. Maybe Pete will come out with a good solution in the near future... Best Regards and have a nice Christmas!
  10. Thanks a lot! I will try that. Regards,
  11. Thank you Pete for your information. I thought it would be possible to lock the pop ups in a new position, for that aircraft, without the need to save the flight. Best Regards and a Happy Christmas!
  12. I am sure this is a trivial question, but I do not figure out how to do it. I want to size and place a pop-up panel where I want. For that, with the FSUIPC un-selected, I size and place the panel where I want it to always appear. Then I select the locking feature in FSUIPC. I would expect that, when later choosing the same aircraft, the popup would show up where I had chosen it to appear. In fact it is locked, but in its original position, with its original size. What am I doing wrong? I hope someone can help. Best Regards,
