  1. No. You shouldn't have to run the database utility everytime you get new SIDS or STARS. They are only routes and not scenery entities.

I generally just enter the start and end airports, not runways, and let the autoroute figure the flight plan. If you are flying IFR, which most heavy iron do, then the ATC will assign the runway for takeoff and vector you to the active runway at the destination. Meanwhile, the GPS, if you convert the FSNav flight plan to FS9 or just "fly flight plan" in FSNav will control the autopilot during the route. Or you can turn it off and fly it manually.

Thanks for all the good suggestions.

  2. Also, in my experience it works best for the auto-flightplan creation if initially you just specify the start and finishing runways of your start and finishing airports.

Then, when the flightplan has been created, you can tweak it if necessary.

    Hi:

Thanks for the prompt reply. I will try your suggestion.

    Thank you,

    David

  3. Do you have High altitude airways active?

Are you using an airplane that cruises at 35000 ft.? 747?

    It works for me!

    Hi Bob:

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I believe I do. :)

Must I run the FSNAV DBC program each time I download new SID/STARS?

    Thanks,

    David

  4. Hi:

When attempting to create a flight plan I keep receiving the following message: "FAILED TO GENERATE A VALID AIRWAY ROUTE". The last plan I tried was Reno to Honolulu at FL350.

Can you please tell me what I am doing wrong?

    I'm using FS Navigator 2004 with FS9.

    Thank you

    :)
