I don't know if anyone is still watching this discussion but I wanted to let you know that my system recently crashed and I had to reload EVERTHING. yuk.. Knowing that I had shared my aircraft file I decided to come back and see if it was still here. This was one file I overlooked backing up. Made the job somewhat simpler andI Also put the file on a CD..

Well in response here is a copy of my config and please notice it is a work in process. I'm trying to get all the right numbers..

Hi Everyone, I just wanted to share a utlility with everyone who manually edits their aircraft.ini file in the FSNavigator directory. This utility was written by Fermin Fernandez of TweakFS fame. I'm one who likes to have my files sorted and easily readable. When you add an airplane to FSNavigator it adds the entry at the end of the ini file. After several additions it gets harder to find a section for a specific plane if you want to remove or edit it. This utility first makes a backup of the current ini file then sorts by the Section [Cessna] alpabeticaly and adds a space in between each section. I have found this to be both very effective and useful. It does overwrite the backup file each time so you will want to make a "Master" backup. This utility is called TweakFS AO and can be found free at this site ->> http://tweakfs.com/download/tweakfs_ao.zip (262 KB).
-
Perfect, Everything you ever wanted to know about your aircraft. Thanks! Will FSNav allow adding remark statement to the aircraft.ini ? I promise this will be the last question on this topic.
-
Wow that was a quick response! Thanks , I did not think to look there. I want to look at it and see if I could add my aircraft there to simplify, after backing up of course.
-
Bob, There is just one more question for you. In your previous response you refered to the aircraft.ini, was that ment to be aircraft.cfg? I could find no ini files on any of my aircraft.
-
Again thanks for the info. Now that I know this I will in the future try to get all the details together before hand so I can create the specifics for a new plane. I find FSNav an indespensible tool which allows me to enjoy my sim flying much more.
-
Just to let you know that Bob's right you need to allow for considerable time for the initial run with large scenery files. I have FSGenisis, Ultimate Terrain and Misrty Fjords and the first time I ran it with just one added it took a looooong time. So what I have done is start the database build before I go to bed so it's ready the next day. Any time you load a new detailed scenery you will have to go through the process again, but it is worth it.
-
Hi Bob, Thanks for the reply. After reading your response I tried to load the cessna 421 again and I think I see what you mean. I assume with the new option selected I can manually enter the plane type and it's speed and altitude ect. So I stand corrected. I'm just suprised that FSNav picks up the pertinent data from FS9 on other planes but not all. The flight One C421 has been out for a long time. Does this mean that all payware/addon planes have to be manually entered? Don't get me wrong I really like the program and I'm still learning how to use it and if is one of the issue I need to live with so be it.
-
I have several aircraft that I can not load into FSNav and I'm wondering why. Example F1_Cessna_421 Golden Eagle & Dream Fleet Bonanza A36. Does anyone know how to fix this?
-
Thanks for the info. I believe I'll try one folder and see what happens. I'm assuming, and maybe wrongfully so, that would help fs9 scan rate on scenery.
-
I am starting to get my scenery problem staightened out thanks to all the great info in the above posts. My questions is, should all of my FSGenis 38m files go into the same addon senery folder? I have the new Alaska 38m, Cordillera Canada 38m and the U.S. West Coast 38m. Should I put all in the same folder or can I use seperate folders in the addon directory for each? Would allow disabling suspect mesh.

Holger, I read a post on another forum where some one was having problems with water textures and said you had told him the water textures that you use. I have for the life of me been unable to find the thread so I'm asking if you would again share that info?
-
Thanks for your help Holger, I will go back to the other forum and see if they can help now. I'm sorry for the trouble evidently I didn't make my question clear on the other forum as that is Where I started and they re-directed me here. Thanks again.

If I go to the FS9 directory using Windows explorer there is only one FSaddon directory which appears to have all the correct directories. Once I'm in FS9, settings, Scenery, There are 2 FSaddon entries below the entries "Misty Fjords Scenery anfd Misty Fjords Landscapes. I Had to reload my HD from scratch and loaded the "Basic Misty Fjords scenery package". I went to the Mistymoorings.com to start updating all my scenery and saw a small update to the basic package when I loaded this is when I got the duplicate FSAddon entrey in FS9.

Ok, What I have is Misty fjords sceenery, then below that I have Misty Fjords Landscape, then I have Addon Sceenery twice both have the misty Fjords folders in them.
-
I have been trying to update my Misty scenery with the new update and have now got 2 entries in the sceenery library for FSAddon. The one in the #1 postion has the scenery and texture folders, the one just below it doesn't. I expected the new update to Overwrite the old entry, Do I need to start all over from scratch?

Thanks Doug, That fixes both my concerns, Printer friendly & chopping off the right hand part of the document. Saves Ink to! You can always go the trip Tix to read the maps.
:D

Actually I think Different scenery From Misty Mooring Charter or Random scenes from Misty Fjords With Various Bush Aircraft. Maybe one with a Aerosft Beaver With Misty Moring Paint scheme? Maybe have a dozen which a person might randomize. But if you only have time for one, Ketchican With the Beaver.

Hi folks I'm new here but loving the scenery. On the Mooring site there is a picture of the startup screen with Mist Fjord grafix. Is there any way to get that one and are there any more? Sorry about the name thought I was filling in something else and I don't know how to change it.
Aircraft.ini.......wanna share?

Hi Alastair,
Yes it did and at the time I did not give it a thought. I didn't think I could post that large untill you posted yours. Which by the way I have been looking at yours to confirm, change or add info into mine. For this I must thank yoiu.
