  1. Tnx François, I got it.

    I was hoping something more "visual", like the FSX´s big green arrows on the missions, but anyway, the heading tip is very useful too.

    Maybe on next FSCargo versions or FSX´s FSC version Maurizio will add this graphic tip. I hope so.

    Tnx again!

  2. Hi!

    ...

    * it will also add a few small aids, like un-scored assignments and directions to the next cargo area.

    .....

    Maurizio

    Excuse me if this was already asked, but I´m re-installing FS9 from absolute Zero on a brand new computer, and after installing FSCargo 1.2 for the first time (my last version on the old PC was 1.1) I cant find any kind of "tip" to find the cargo area.

    Precisely this kind of feature was the only one I was looking forward to be included on the update.

    What I´m missing?

    Tnx a lot!!

  3. After successfully completing some missions on FSX beta that involved loading and unloading several cargo types (mail, people, supplies..), I realiced that apparently its very similar to FSCargo on some aspects. I can see how load is waiting on the dock to be picked up, the plane weight is increased on loading the cargo, etc..

    I wonder if FSCargo will evolve to take advantage of some of the new features of FSX:

    1. A narrated (the pilot have a career and he flyes on a specific zone, and the ATC uses specific text and voice lines, like FSX adventures, but more general) or pseudo-narrated (using several general predefined voice lines, like "Approaching the cargo zone" or "I see the cargo") set of missions.

    2. The big green signs of mission waypoints, for marking cargo zones, and the "radar" for showing the cargo zone direction. This is something I always desired for FS9 FSCargo.. :cry:

    3. Dont know if FSX is able to do it, but random assignments if you fly over a specific zone (i.e. real time weather creates a big storm, and what looked like a beautiful day, turns into a hell on earth. You are flying near a mountain zone, and some tourists get trapped on the top of a mountain. Your task is changed dinamically, and you must rescue them. If the weather dont change, that mission is not generated (or maybe is generated, but very different paramenters). Maybe too far for FSX possibilities, but, hey, dreaming is free. :wink:

    4. Already on point 1. The use of radio somehow integrated with FSCargo. Could be nice that the airstrips FScargo enabled, could have some kind of radio communications related to the assignment. Something simple, but will add inmersion.

    Just some ideas. For now, I´m looking forward the next FSCargo patch. :wink: Maybe some of the community ideas already have been implemented....

    Tnx

  4. Holger, the FSX screenshots are so horrible than makes me think they made it on purpose, and they want you sell lots of Tongass copies. :wink:

    And they were in touch with addon developers??? :roll:

    I hope Misty and Tongass could be compatible using some kind of patch. After them, the bar is very high, and I cant go back to FS9 default "quality", that seems to be more or less the same of FSX, on that area.

    Tnx for the screens.

  5. Umm, works for me. Try to mass update all maps or manually add the map again.

    Maybe the .ini file is corrupt. See if the file TF_sectional_Lambert_BC.ini reads:

    [Map.XXX]
    MapEnable=1
    MapFriendlyName=Tongass Fjords Sectional Lambert BC
    MapPathRelative=0
    MapFileName=TF_sectional_Lambert_BC.jpg
    MapIgnoreAngle=1
    MapContinent=North America
    MapDefaultZoom=1
    HighAltitudeCondition=NA
    MapBoundary=<2009,3486,0,1,2009,3486>
    MapWeightOffset=0
    HighAltitudeTrigger=0
    AltitudeWeightOffset=0
    CalPoint_1=

  6. My two cents from an online newbie POV:

    I recently started to discover the painful path of learning to fly on IVAO network. I´ve made some uncontrolled flights and still trying to read as much as possible before trying to do a flight from a little airport with a human ATC. Also I´m joining TeamSpeak channels on Spanish IVAO airports just for "feel" the real thing.

    IVAO (and VATSIM too) have a program called "ServInfo" that shows in real time all flights on their networks over the world. Also is capable to give lots of info of everything what is happening in the sky and on the ground, including flightplans, voice servers, human ATCs..etc I have all software installed on my laptop, left of my desktop PC, and I have the info and tools avaliable all the flight time.

    I think, as mentioned above, most of the airspace of Misty and Tongass is completely un-controlled and we could use the tools that provide IVAO for our own use. We could have TS channels, info abot who´s online on a map, routes, etc Also, FSNavigator is capable of show the planes of IVAO on-screen.

    Some days ago I made a PAKT-PAWG flight on IVAO, and was cool, but I was completely alone all the way. I would like to see more people up there. We dont need an ATC. Simply a way of meeting in an easy way.

    Private servers are nice, but lack of more "visual" tools like IVAO-VATSIM ones. Also Maybe with FSX release, the line between the old FS multiplayer system and the global networks will be thinner, but until then, I think what I explained its a good option for us.

    Tnx

  7. Dear Francois, since you wrote yesterday aboy the next update, I´m eating my nails like a crazy. Tnx :wink:

    In case someone is not aware:

    http://simflight.com/modules.php?name=Ne&sid=8266

    ".......The promised for is long in the tooth... for different, and of course all GOOD, reasons. We had Tongass Fjords, holidays, heat waves and technical problems to master. Just to let all of you know that work IS indeed progressing, here is a peek of what is coming in the FREE upgrade soon......".

    So, heavy weights, uh? :D Can you give more details? More improvements? Maybe the dreamed "cargo zone mark"?

    Tnx!

  8. Have you done this?:

    3. Right mouse click: Choose 'Import Map' in context menu .

    4. Choose "calibrated for FSM Moving Map" (*.ini) and select my files, one each time, until the four are imported.

    5. Its done. Now it should work.

    The .ini files are inside the .rar file I uploaded, anf you must uncompress where the Tongass maps are. Copy and paste the maps to the folder you choose for that purpose.

    Hope it helps.

    S!

  9. Tried the demo. I sincerely prefer FSCargo.

    With CP you need to run the "cargo office shell" program before fly.

    I dont like you can´t see the cargo.

    What I like, is the career options. You earn money, you have a detailed log and a detailed flight map. You can even print it. Also, the possibility of using all the installed aircraft is great too.

    I hope next version of FSCargo could include several things:

    1. Cargo zone marker (maybe something like seen on some FSX videos. Maybe not so big, but I like the idea).

    2. A detailed career log, if possible, with details of all flights made by the pilot, and the earned money. That could need the creation and selection of a pilot, something like FSPassengers. Maybe Vistamare engine doesnt allow this, but could be nice.

    3. Heavy loads with heavy planes.

    4. Maybe the possibility of displaying via FSUIPC the origin and destiny points on FSMoving map, FSNavigator, or other similar programs. Maybe also an auto-flight map plot. Just dreaming...

    Any chance of know if some of these ideas are planned? Hows the update going?

    Tnx!

  10. Tnx Hans. I already have all them. They are also on AVSim.

    I think the Tongass Fjors included sectorials are more detailed than those you mention on Tongass zone.

    I hope Rana Hossain could follow the development of the program. There is a beta, but sadly, is not working anymore since some time ago. The program forums are a bit dead and I think there´s not support avaliable.

    S!

  11. Hi there!

    After discovering this great app by the hands of Holland_Holland (the excellent post is here: http://forums.simflight.com/viewtopic.p+movingmap) I noticed that the Uwe's Ketchikan map was prefectly compatible with both Misty and Tongass Fjords, BUT the quality of the image was not as good as is on the maps that Tongass includes on its install.

    I had to learn how FSMM works and after many try and error, I think I made a good solution for navigating over TF. First of all, sorry if the coordinates are not 101% exact, but I´ve made my best to put it correctly. If somenone cam improve my files, plz, do it.

    How to install: (I suppose all you have read the Holland_Holland post and you´ve got FSMM installed and running.)

    1. Go to X:\Flight Simulator 9\FSAddon\Tongass Fjords\maps_big\ folder and copy the four maps named TF_sectional_Lambert_XX.jpg (not TF_sectional_Lambert_XX_sm.jpg ones. These are smaller) into the folder you use for FSMM maps, and copy in the same folder my four .ini files.

    2. Now run FSSMap (MMLauncher.exe), select SETUP (Left-Down corner) and go to second tab: XXX maps defined

    3. Right mouse click: Choose 'Import Map'in context menu

    4. Choose calibrated for FSM Moving Map (*.ini) and select my files, one each time, until the four are imported.

    5. Its done. Now it should work.

    6. Run FS9 and fly over i.e. Entrance Island. Hit F10 several times until the map is shown. Enjoy.

    (Beware, if you have installed previously US_SEC_JUNEAU XXX maps, please, delete or disable them, because they will show up instead the new ones. I dont know what rule follows FSMap for choosing the best map for the zone.)

    I was testing the map and an AI plane passed close to me. I jumped on my seat for a moment! I was able to take some screencaps.

    I hope the development of this amazing program could continue. Seems that Rana (the autor) has abandoned it....
