Das Mainboard ist zunächst DualCore-fähig, laut ASUS... :)

Ein neuer Prozessor, und vor allem ein Multikernprozessor ist für FSX schon von Vorteil. FS2004 ist nicht multikernfähig, trotzdem sind Verbesserungen in Sachen Leistung zu erkennen. Bei mir war der Leistungsgewinn deutlich zu merken, als ich von einem Athlon64 4000+ auf einen E6850 C2D gewechselt habe.

Der E6600 lässt sich auch gut übertakten, vorausgesetzt dass Sie eine angemessene Kühlung einsetzen.

Der E6600 hat einen FSB von 1066MHz, was sehr gut mit DDR2-533 kombiniert (RAM ratio 1:1)...

Ich bin mir hier nicht ganz sicher, vor allem wenn der alte Prozessor HT unterstützt, aber es kann gut möglich sein, dass eine Neuinstallation von Windows notwendig ist, und zwar wegen der 2 Kerne des neuen Prozessors...

Stimmt schon, was die Nachfolger erzählen... schnellerer RAM ist auch sehr zu empfehlen, auch wenn der "RAM ratio" etwas schlechter ausfällt... Ich habe bei meinem E6850 einen FSB von 1600 eingestellt, und bekomme 1:1 mit DDR2-800 RAM...

Ist sowieso alles nur eine Frage von Geld... ;)

Odd. But Do I understand that the parameter does make your screenshots clean in instant replay mode?

Yes, I found it odd too. And yes, you do understand correctly. The parameter hideinfotext=1 does have the removal effect on the instant replay messages, the pause message, slew, and so on and so forth...

Perhaps a question to the TrackIR people at naturalpoint.com might shed light as to why the TrackIR needs the messages...

Just noticed on the naturalpoint.com website (TrackIR people...) that the text messages are required for TrackIR's use...

Perhaps the message subsystem is some sort of switch trigger???

It's definitely necessary to the correct function of TrackIR to have HideInfoText=0 or no line at all in the fs9.cfg...

Thanks very much for the quick response and the help...

I scooted around the Net and found a parameter for the central .cfg file: HideInfoText=1

Tried it out as well... it seems to break the use of my TrackIR. I remove the line from the fs9.cfg, and TrackIR functions correctly once again...

Strange...

Hi there,

I recently registered FSUIPC and, although not a major tweaker, am sure that my install of FS2004 has benefitted from the experience :D

I have read through a large amount of the manual, as well as the advanced users' guide, but cannot seem to fathom out if it is possible to remove the message that appears in the bottom left corner of the window during instant replay, counting the time left to play and so on. It makes taking screenshots particularly difficult :(

Now, I found a page on the Net with a large table listing offsets. It seems 0628 and 062C are associated with instant replay flag and control, and time left to run. Is there any way of programming a keystroke to turn this message off? (Or any simpler method for that matter?) And if so how?
