New PC - Problem Installing FSUIPC
SteveLewis replied to SteveLewis's topic in FSUIPC Support Pete Dowson Modules
Pete, I uninstalled FSX completely. Did a cleaning of files fragments. Then reinstalled FSX, SP1, & SP2. Copied over my working copy from my backup file. Then installed the latest FSUIPC4. Worked like a charm. For some reason, my initial install wasn't registered correctly or something. Thanks for the help. Steve Lewis Omaha -

I'm building a new PC (Win7-Professional 64bit) and have installed FSX including SP1 & SP2. A clean install on a new HD. I then copied over my existing FSX set up from a 1Tb backup drive. FSX comes up just fine. Problem is with FSUIPC4 installation. I am a registered owner of FSUIPC4 as well as FSUIPC. When attempting to install FSUIPC4 into FSX I get the following error: "Your FSX installation is incorrect! The version of SimConnect installed will not run FSUIPC4. You may need to repair the installation to rectivy this first." When I installed the FSX SDK, I installed the original from FSX Disc 1, then downloaded and installed SP1. I directed these installs to: G:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator X SDK Then I attempted to install SP2 of the SDK, and I could not direct it to the G drive location. It insisted on going to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator X SDK After failing to get it onto my G drive several times, I deleted it and went ahead and installed it into the C drive location. Now I get the error above. Further, it states that it can not find Microsoft ESP in the register. I'm assuming that this is a part of the SDK. Now, on my old PC, with Win XP, I was able (somehow) to direct the SDK to the G drive and never had a problem like this. Question: Is the error I am getting have to do with the location (on a different drive) of the SDK? By the way, I downloaded SimConnect and installed it (went to the C drive) but I still get the error. Steve Lewis KOMA

I'm in the process of completing the build of a new PC and finally have FS9 up and running. However, when I check FSUIPC it asks for the registration number. I've had the registered version for many years and the key is in the proper folder. Unfortunately, I've lost the key. Any way I can retrieve it or get another? And, by the way, I have moved since I originally purchased FSUIPC and my e-mail address has changed -- matter of fact, my original ISP is out of business so an e-mail to my old address will not go through. No Trim Tabs Movement with FSUIPC v4.26
SteveLewis replied to SteveLewis's topic in FSUIPC Support Pete Dowson Modules
Pete, I've solved my problem and it wasn't FSUIPC. Actually, I didn't mean to come off as blaming FSUIPC but more to see if maybe I had done something incorrectly with the program (maybe inadvertently checked a box or something). Anyway, I downloaded a copy of FSUIPC v4.152 from FlightSim.com and had exactly the same problem. That ruled out FSUIPC. I then disconnected both my CH Yoke and Pedal USBs and traded slots. Windows reloaded the drivers for both as they were in different USB slots. I then did a quick calibration of my Yoke. My trim tabs now work in v4.152 and I'm sure they will continue to do so in 4.26 which I will re-download right after I finish up here. Again, sorry if I came off as blaming your fantastic program. Thanks! Steve -
Ever since updating my FSUIPC to v4.26 (registered) I have lost the ability to have my CH Yoke adjust the trim tabs. I've also lost that ability with the number 2 & 8 keys. Without the trim tabs, FSX is now unflyable for me. I fly both the Feelthere ERJ and B-1900D from PMDG. I've tested both and the trim tabs are totally INOP. I am not using FSUIPC to set my CH Yoke buttons -- just for the very basic items in wind and clouds so I am unsure of how this happened. Prior to the update, everything worked just fine. Is there a page available to download former releases of FSUIPC for FSX in case one discovers a problem? Steve Lewis Omaha
