 Hey y'all, I'm having an issue I have NEVER had before, for some reason FSUIPC will not let me register the program.

 I bought it in 2017 and installed it ONCE, I am now doing a reinstall because I got a new PC and it will not accept my key.

 I have tried to copy and paste, typing it in, you name it, it just says not a valid 12 digit key.

I am copying it from the same email I got with the app.

 

I'm getting this in the log:

All installer tasks completed.
Registration dialog exit: selected  FSUIPC REGISTER
Providing FSUIPC registration dialogue ...
Registration for FSUIPC5 was cancelled or failed! (result code 40)

Howdy AchillesP, thanks for the reply.

 

 Actually I am already activated at this time, but I think my install is messed up somehow, can I uninstall and reinstall without sending back my key? It will be on the exact same PC and is fully activated.

 

sorry for the confusion.

 

(the program works, the problem is I am getting some kind of.NET error that I've never had before, and it happened right after I updated, I think my download was bad so I want to try a reinstall before contacting support)

 Hey ya'll quick question,

 

 I think I borked my Fiber Acc with the last update I installed "over" the top of it, can I uninstall and then reinstall the latest version without having to kick back the license?

 Yikes, I didn't know that.  A video card upgrade might also set it off?? That also probably means my other FSPS add-on that's installed is locked?

 

lol ouch. I really don't use anything since I got Fiber anyways so I probably just uninstall the other one. 

 

 I don't usually mess with what is not broken so I rarely update my BIOS BUT I got a new GTX980SC ACX (for a good price!) and ASUS had just came out (a month ago) with a new BIOS for my board that adds "stability/performance update for XMP profile/overclocking" which I use so I wanted to give the old PC a nice boost.

 

 well learned something new today, I better go check on my other add-ons and contact support again...

[Machine Lock Error?]

 Hey again y'all, I know this problem has to be handled through support and I have already submitted a ticket. So this is NOT a support question.

 

 

BUT, I was wondering why this happened? I have only installed FSX Fiber Accelerator one time (other than updates) and it just came out of the blue.

 

So to try to see what causes this:

 

I have only updated 2 things in my PC since last use, my BIOS and my video card, would this/either of these cause this?

 

Or

 

Can it be caused by using CCleaner or a reg cleaner or anti virus??

 

And to prevent it, I would need to reject the license FIRST then update my BIOS or video card?

 

 

 Thanks, and I'm only asking because I get ONE day a week to enjoy my flight sim hobby and it/this being Sunday I may not get support today, so I would like to try to prevent this from happening again if possible.

 Howdy y'all, first of all thanks for bringing us the FSX Fiber Accelerator!!

 

 I bought it right off the bat simply because I want to try to keep funding R&D like this for our beloved FSX!   I LOVE this concept of changing settings for FSX on the fly!

 

 I have a quick question though, I have been playing around with trying to not get blurry textures, not run low or run out of VAS and all the time running very high detail airports aircraft and ground textures details, and I have come across something interesting.

 

More than likely you already know that setting LOD in the fsx.cfg to 0 (not 0.000000 but just 0) loads the sim/flight super fast in FULL detail with almost 1.8 of free VAS space, BUT also if you try this LOD=0 taking off from Drez's  New York Airports X starting at JFK running Aerosofts Manhattan X flying out up to 2500ft across Manhattan and landing at Drez's NYAX Newark Liberty with Opus live weather on and Ultimate Traffic 2 at about 60% ships and ferry's on medium settings also running REX 4 textures/water and Orbx Global/Vector and a USA Land class a custom mesh and sliders set to high with autogen set to high (not ultra but high)...the frame rates keep almost a steady 30-40FPS and the VAS NEVER gets below 6mb even after a full flight, landing and parking with a follow me car? And the whole time autogen scenery looks like it's set on the default of 4.5 with no blurry textures under the aircraft and at 2500ft or lower that's quite a site.

 

BTW I found also that the VAS goes up and down accordingly, if you are at a heavy airport and then take off your amount of left over VAS incresses as you leave the high activity high detail airports....I've been told this can't happen but it does.

 

 So I have a question, would there be any way for you guys to develop an on-the-fly LOD loader/injector/changer from your Fiber concept? One that starts out at takeoff at a setting of LOD=0 then on-the-fly increases the LOD at higher altitudes respectively and then also decreases LOD again as you land?

 

 I know this sound nuts and possibly confusing BUT this "could" be the end of OOM's and frame rate loss/blurry detail at low altitude high detail settings at the end of flights with very high detail and complicated add-ons running.

 

 

BTW, if you set the LOD to LOD=0 in the fsx.cg and then load a flight FSX does re-set it to 0.000000 in the fsx.cfg and keeps it there, not to the default of 4.5.
