  1. I can't make a Holding Pattern work(FSNav 4.7).Following the instructions,I right click the waypoint lying on a given route and select Holding Pattern. Then in the dialog box I enter the required data, the pattern is generated, hinging on the waypoint. When the aircraft arrives at the waypoint though, instead of engaging the holding pattern,it carries on following the flight plan.Is there something I am not doing right?Besides, how does one make the aircraft resume the flight plan when the holding pattern is no longer needed?Need advice, thanks.

  2. I have installed version 3.5 and read the guide.I am evidently thick in the head but I still can't understand if,without paying,I can still get the functions (Winds,Visibility,Clouds etc) that I had on my old version 2.96.I suspect not, because when with FS2002 running I open Modules>FSUIPC, instead of getting the Options and Settings box with all the tabs that I just mentioned, all I get is two tabs(About and Logging)with invitations to register (ergo,in my wiew,to pay,to receive the key and enjoy the Winds,Visibility etc.,and presumably other goodies not of my interest, functions to which I had free direct access with version 2,96).

Or,alternatively, can I get a free key and basically obtain what I was getting with version 2.96?

  3. I am currently using version 2.96 of FSUIPC.I downloaded and installed (on FS2002) FSM Moving Map,which doesn't appear to work well perhaps because the software manual demands at least FSUIPC version 3.44.I spotted a version 3.5 and I need to know whether I can download it free of charge as I did with version 2.96 or if I have to purchase it.If I click :?: the download link I get it ready to go but,as I said,I don't know if I will have to pay after a trial period. Can Pete or someone else help me on this? Thanks.

  4. Chris,

thanks for your prompt reply.Fs Sky World now works well.It happened that I renamed the spare file containing the add-ons "FS2002".When I reinstalled the program from the CDs I realized it was called "Fs2002".I therefore replaced this with my spare file calling it "Fs2002",and it worked. No wonder FS Sky couldn't find "FS2002".

One more thing. At the moment, after having used the program,in cloud.ini under [PathCheck] Check=off.Should I change it to "on" as you advised?I don't think I need it because the program works well.Thanks.

  5. Dear Chris,

after a virus upset my hard disk,I had to reinstall a number of things. Previuosly I was running FS Sky World 2002 SE 2.4 with patch v2.4.1 on FS2002. Fortunately I had previously as a precaution saved my whole FS2002 file with the add-ons and after having reinstalled the original FS2002,I substituted it with the saved file. Also the installed Fs Sky World under C:// was still there.Everything works well with other utilities (FSUIPC,FSNav,etc.) except FS Sky World which, when activated, produces the following message:

    Ini error

    Can't find fs2002.cfg

    Situation function will be desabled.

Please confirm [situation] section in cloud.ini.

I don't know why it can't find FS2002.cfg which sits pretty in the FS2002 folder.Besides,I don't understand why it refers to the [situation] section of cloud.ini.

I uninstalled and reinstalled FS Sky World to no avail.

Please help me,I want my clouds back! Thanks.

  6. Reconnecting to my previous message Date of Patch, following a major disaster with my hard disc I had to reinstall FS2002 and Fs Sky World SE 2.4 upgraded to 2.4.1.Whereas previously I was perfectly satisfied with the the aspect of the clouds, they now look not well defined and paper thin.

As it often happens,I have an imprecise recollection of my previous settings. I wonder if someone could help me tune them better. My system:

    Fs2002 settings:

    Display Texture bar to maximum

    MIT Mapping: on

    Anti-aliasing: on

    Bi-linear filtering: on

    Nvidia GeForce MX440 AGP8X,driver recently upgraded,settings:

    Antialiasig: application controlled

    Anysotropic filtering: application controlled

    Image setting: quality

    Vertical syncr: off

But thinking back,it was so easy to get those crispy clouds. What have I lost? Thanks for the replies.

  7. I notice the following:

Fs Sky World SE 2.4 cloud.ini file created and modified 02 July 2004.

    Patch 2.4.1 cloud.ini file created 13 June 2003 and modified 14 June 2004.

Does this mean that an old file has been chosen for modification and is now the most up-to-date,or is there an error with the dates?

    Thanks for any comment.

  8. I am looking at the enroute chart of Alaska, more precisely at the Class C aerospace above Anchorage.Whilst I have clear the meaning of the two inner sectors of circle delimiting volumes of SFC/4100 ft and 1400/4100 ft altitude,I don't understand the third outer circle of fainter magenta colour, crossed by the legend ANCHORAGE CLASS C.If it is the outer egde of the controlled zone, where are its altitude limits indicated on the map?

Or perhaps it means something else? Thanks for the help.
