  1. Hi Sascha & Volker

I have been happily using FSC for a number of years in my home built cockpit. Using Version 8.2 I was able to reduce the size of the FSC Map Window to about 400x400 pixels and run it as a moving map integrated into my main instrument panel as a normal instrument size. I have recently built a new cockpit which is running FSX on 64 bit Windows 7. I have an evaluation version of FSC 9 and I had hoped to repeat the arrangement of integrating it into my new panel. It appears however that I cannot get the window to reduce smaller than about 800x600 pixels which is too large and out of proportion with the other instruments on the panel.

I think I read in the Forum that a new minimum window size had been set around Version 8.5 but that you may consider removing the limitation again. Unfortunately I can't now find the reference to that mail and I am not sure if I got the information correctly. Can you let me have the following information:

1: Am I correct in stating that there is a minimum size for the map window?

2: Is there any way around it, even at the expense of hiding some of the buttons?

3: Do you intend to make any changes in the near future that would allow the window to be reduced without limit as before?

    Kind Regards,

    Michael

  2. Features I would like to see:

1: Update of Sids and Stars- the way it used to be- (Way the most important thing)

2: Keyboard commands for all major actions in FMC so that we could operate them with switches or joystick buttons through FSUIPC

3: Ability to run FS Nav on seperate PC, using wide client or some other program.

    4. Maps with more geographical information would be nice.

Looking forward to seeing what was the best addon ever made for FS back to its rightful place again.

  3. Back again,

I have decided to revive this thread again in the hope that it may prod someone into action, or is it that we are all just talking to ourselves here and that no-one from the FS Nav production team acually reads this forum.

We have all bought the program on the understanding that the Sids and Stars would be up-dated. That is not happening and we are not being told why or when it will be resolved. It has become more and more out of date and innacurate.

FS Nav is a great program but it will have to be replaced by something else if this is not resolved soon.

  4. Hi again,

I understand the system works like this: You upload your SIDs/Stars to the FS Nav site. The Author has to check them before they are added to the official SID/STAR download site. I think this checking and adding is not happening. That is the problem. I don't think the problem is with the server.

What really concerns me is that we are not being told when, if ever, the problem will be sorted. I hope it is soon.

  5. Pete,

This question has also been on my mind for some time, but I think you have answered it.

I was wondering if the PREV and NEXT buttons in the FS Navigator could be activated by an external button through FSUIPC, just as is possible with FLY PLAN in the same program by assigning a key to that function. I realise that these are not directly Flight Sim Commands and that is what makes the difference. We need to get the code changed in FS Navigator I guess.

We have become so used to the idea that you can do anything with FSUIPC, don't be surprised when we wonder why it can't do something that appears simple to us idiots.

    Great Program,

    Regards

  6. Hi,

When FS Nav was freeware and for a time after it became payware, the Sids and Stars were updated frequently. As far as I knew, the system worked like this: Users would draft Sids and Stars for their favourite airports and upload them to the FS Nav System using the "upload" facility. The author would then check them for accuracy and formally add them to the on-line database, which was then available to all users through the "download" system. The list of Sids and Stars was updated very regularly, especially for the major airports. It is a brilliant system.

All this has changed in the past year or so. We now get very few if any updates. Although I think users are still uploading the drafts they do not seem to get added to the main database. What is now in the database is very much out of date for several large airports in Europe. I cannot tell what the story is in the US or elsewhere.

Does anyone have any idea when full service will be resumed? FS Nav is the best add-on ever made for Flight Simulator. I sincerely hope it will be kept up-to-date. If not it will lose its attraction for many pilots, which would be a great shame.
