  1. Hello,

since no one has taken the responsibilty yet to create a poll for the next airport project, Cornel was asking for someone to do it, I'll give it a try.

I bet some are missing Zurich LSZH, but since there is are freeware version and another group which has already previewed their version long ago, I left it out  .

Those are just seven ideas I came up with after reading the suggestions by other members. I know not everyone's favourite airport is included but it's a start :D .

    Go voting! :P

  2. Good news and great screenshots Manfred. Madrid looks very promising so far. Can't wait to fly there in almost two months or maybe later and have a look at that terminal architecture :).

Keep up the good work and don't argue about those moaners ;).

    kind regards,

    Christian

  3. Hopefully Heathrow and Madrid, and some wellknown italian freeware airports are going to be compatible with Flight Simulator 9. Regarding my point of view I am not willing to move on to FSX yet :).

I really enjoy Sim-Wings' airports and haven't even got to the full extend of all the Canary Islands Airports, Malta and Paris Charles de Gaulle .

I am pressing thumbs, that the teams is still considering Flight Simulator 2004.

    Viele Grüße,

    Christian

  4. Hi Holger,

thank you for enlighting me about UT Alaska/Canada and the FS Genesis mesh. I'll have to check how much is left on the bank when I am returning from my vacation in Norway, which is not going to be cheap :?.

The Delorme Atlas is exactly the one I am using now and I have to say it's great, especially for flying the triptix in Misty Fjords and simply get from one airport to the other :D.

    Keep up the good work!

  5. Hello FSAddon Team,

I just wanted to say "Thank you very much" for Tongass Fjords. I have got Misty Fjords too and in my opinion this product is already hard to top, but with Tongass Fjords you have really outdone yourself :D. It's fantastic too see all those vessels, landing Beavers, flashing marine lights and small houses in the area, while you are flying and checking the route with the atlas.

If Flight Simulator would only consist of these two areas I could live with it forever, no matter how may roman numbers are going to follow. PMDG & Co already have a hard time to beat all the fun I get when doing short flights in Misty or Tongass Fjords. Well, I even spent my last few euros for the Beaver and immediatly installed Bjorn's Tongass Tour repaint, just to get a bit closer bushpilot feeling.

I wonder if it's worth getting Ultimate Terrain Alaska/Canada and maybe the Alaska mesh from FS Genesis, Holger, if you find the time maybe you can tell me :)?

Keep up this fantasic work! Well done :!:

    best regards,

    Christian

  6. Hello Jeff,

what a stunning video with a great music combination :). I am eagerly awaiting the release of Tongass Fjords. I haven't explored Misty Fjords to its full extent :(. Too bad I am writing exams but in two weeks and a bad weather day I'll definately get my virtual ego down to Alaska and do some short hops. :P

    Thanks!

  7. Guys, since the world cup is over now I would spend my time with other aircraft in Flight Simulator than the Avriograsf A340. Even if there is an update on its way, I am not sure if its going to make things better.

Although the A340 is one of my favorite aircraft, it seems like I have to wait for a while till I'll see one in FS9 or X.

A little hint, there's a pretty cool 737-200 in the file libraries :).

  8. Hi Paulo,

I totally agree with you, especially on the psychology part of your message. Actually we had a discussion last week at university what reality is and what not but writing about this would exceed this this topic so I'd rather talk about the A340 again :).

It's really sad to see that Aviograsf published the A340 as it is and hasn't released any updates/patches so far and there's no way of getting back my hard earned €uros, I have spent on this product.

Paulo, take it that way, if there'll ever be another Airbus A340 for Flight Simulator, it only can be better than this. Meanwhile enjoy all the other fantastic aircraft and addons for Flight Simulator, they are worth it, unlike this A340.

And Aviograsf, you would really surprise me if you would come with a functionating Airbus A340 for FS9, especially after I gave up hope months ago!

Greetings to Brazil! Can't wait to see your team playing at world cup! :D

  10. Hello Holger,

thank you very much for that great addon and for links and tipps. I am going to invest my money in the Delorme Alaska Atlas, seems to be the right map to get all the points and island names and I can get it on amazon.com.

I read the thrad in the Misty Fjords flying forum so I am up-to-date concerning my questions. Excuse me not seeing that thread earlier :? .

I am a native german speaker, so reading the bush-pilots forum for further questions and hints shouldn't cause any trouble :D.

Thank you very much, also to you BigBry!

  11. Hello,

I have just got Misty Fjords a few days ago and I am so suprised by the whole package that I really enjoy flying all the TripTix or simply from cabin to cabin.

My only problem is, that the chart which comes with the CD-Rom doesn't show all the points and island names which are named in the TripTix so I switched pretty fast to the map Jim Jackson provided on avsim.

Now I am wondering if someone could help me getting such a nice detailed topo map for real not only as bits and bytes on my computer. Since I am from Europe, simply walking into a store and getting one seems a bit impossible.

If someone can point to a website or has a used map or he doesn't need anymore, I am open for any input, also for a real sectional chart of the Misty Fjords area.

    Thanks and best regards,

    Christian

  12. Dear Aviograsf Team,

although reading all the messages in this and other forums, having a close look at screenshots, I was foolish enough to purchase your A340 for 32.99 EUR today. Having a lot of experience with another A320 and B737 addon I at least thought and believed Version 1.2 would be flyable around my home airport, but it wasn't.

Some major problems I encountered during my first flights:

    • [*:0c636]60% thrust to start rolling and 50% to keep the A340 rolling with a ZFW of 129.9 seems a bit high to me
[*:0c636]despite autobreak being set to max, it didn't engage while rejecting t/o run
[*:0c636]'HOT' message appearing on BRK FAN display although the sim was just started, disappearing after succesful t/o
[*:0c636]On the EFIS control panel, you can only engage one mode. If I recall correctly you can engage CSTR and at least another mode like NDB, VOR, ARPT, maybe a real Airbus can confirm that.
[*:0c636]Getting a red speedtape on PFD, when passing 220kts after t/o and retracting flaps to zero, although only the right and left main tanks are loaed with 20% of fuel. What green dot speed does a fully loaded A340 have?
[*:0c636]A/THR ignoring speed inputs on the FCU and 250kts restriction below 10000ft. A/THR was still giving 90% N1 although I manually selected 220kts on the FCU and current speed was already 290kts. After disconnecting A/THR and reducing speed to 220kts and engaging A/THR again, it again gave 90% N1.
[*:0c636]roll rate seems a bit to high for me, hard to say since I am no real pilot.
[*:0c636]flying with VC makes FS2004 a dia-show, no such problems on other aircraft with high detailed VC.
[*:0c636]low ZFW weight, flaps full, 10° nose up and 170kts speed still ends in a 2500ftpm descend on approach. Considering a lower Vls is not possible due to red speed tape and stall warning from FS, A.floor unfortunately not kicking in :(
[*:0c636]flying a heading of 270° and dialing in 260° on the FCU ended in a 180° turn, which was aborted by me.

And now for some minor problems I have with the A340:

    • [*:0c636]landing and taxi lights postion seems a bit wrong from 2d cockpit view.
[*:0c636]stobe lights missing on external model.
[*:0c636]normal display size doesn't look sharp and makes them hard to read. Generally making PFD etc larger would be freaking nice.
[*:0c636]enlarged dsiplays look good, although some numbers could need some GDI help.
[*:0c636]no vector gauges on the lower ECAM
[*:0c636]overhead is almost unreadable from a 1280*1024 screen resolution
[*:0c636]2d panel graphics have lots of edges and simply don't look smooth
[*:0c636]the icons on the left side are disturbing in my oppinion, isn't there a better way to integrate them into the panel?

Although it's really nice to see the flybywire modeled and some other features, some things are really disturbing like the panel graphics, autopilot logic and the fact that you have to disengage the throttle of your joystick. How do you expect somebody to taxi around an airport  ?

I really hope you have some good news for the people who purchased it so far, that there is a fix on its way and some more features are added. In my opinion the aircraft has the potential to play in the high league of FS addons but it is going to need some basic fixes, i.e. FDE, autopilot and systems, in order to do so.

I hope you have also considered making the upcoming TCAS, Squawkbox 3 compatible, that would be nice from an online flyer point-of-view.

    kind regards,

    Christian
