Sometimes when flying with FDC Active Cotpit and RC4 the info in the "FSUIPC Displays" disappears. Is there a key stroke to bring it back? Thanks jerrycwo4

The other day I updated FSUIPC from version 3.750 to version 3.98A. Afterwards my red brake messase at the bottom left of my screen was 1/2 gone. I could only see the top 1/2 of the message. How do I move the message up so that I can see all of it again? Thanks jerrycwo4

I do NOT have "Wide View" and I do NOT fly Fs2004 on a network of computers, so do I still need to download and install the Microsoft Framework 3.5 ? If so, why? Please advise. Thanks Gerald Alfred

I went to Microsoft and downloaded Net Framework 3.5 and installed it ( I thought) and then I installed the FSPS program, I thought. The installation ended up on what looked like the main page of the PFD instruction guide, but then nothing. I RIGHT and LEFT clicked on this page but nothing happened. There was no "shortcut" installed on my desktop after the proposed installation. I rebooted my computer and did a "search" for both the Net Framework 3.5 and the FSPS program itself..... NOTHING was found ! Please advise, thanks jerrycwo4

Thanks for the info, Holger. If there is anyway for you to add the fact that even if a person JUST purchased the differant "Fjord" products, they still need to install those up dates. Anyway to add that to the "update" notices them selfs? That note would have helped me out a lot.
I downloaded that Vancouver (freebee) that you said, but the scenery in Vancouver Plus 1 is so complex that the new CYVR was too much for my computer. I have a very fast computer (CPU 4.02 GHz) with 3 video cards but I also use 3, 26" LCD monitors and with both of them on my computer, the FPS droped to 4-5; WAY TO SLOW. I uninstalled the "new" CYVR. jerry

Who ever knows what goes "wrong" with an installation. I tried to install it twice to see if something HAD gone wrong. Both times it only put the files into a FSAddon folder and not the Scenery Library. I noticed that it was not in the Scenery folder so I thought, like many of the older sceneries you had to manually put them into the Scenery Folder; I did and the scenery showed up. Flying in the fjords and valleys NORTH of CYVR is some of the BEST looking scenery on my intire Fs2004..... it is breath taking ! I know that the instructions say that this scenery comes with it's own MESH, and I only have FS Genessis Noth America 1 installed so how can I tell if this great looking mountains are comming from the FS Genessis (LOD 10) mesh OR the mesh inside the Vancouver scenery ??
One of the instructions for one of the "fjords" senery says if you have an adddional mesh that is a LOD 10, to put it into a folder and put it into the Scenery Library. I have NOT done this. My FS Genessis mesh is in its original default installation location. Is there a chance that I'm missing even BETTER scenery by NOT placing FS Genessis mesh into the Scenery Library ? Thanks jerrywo4

Just a "heads up" for anyone else that buys this scenery at this late date. (September 2009) I just bought this great scenery a few days ago but the "installer" did NOT, repeat, it did NOT install the scenery into the "Scenery Library" and if you don't put it into the Scenery Library manually, you will not see it. Unfortunelly, the instructions for this "older" scenery does not say anything about you having to manually put it into the scenery library. It's installer only puts the files into a folder inside the main FSAddon folder. jerrycwo4

Is Tongass Fjords that I purchased in September 2009 fully complete or do I still need to download and installed your UPDATE, " Tongass Fjords updated seasons file available"( in thread dated 01-03 07). Thanks jerrycwo4
Let me restate this question. At the top of this forum there are 3 updates that are listed by Holger. If I just bought Tongass Fjords in September 2009, do I need ANY of the 3 "updates" above?
PS Was the airport at CYVR ever updated? If so, where can I purchase it ?

SUCCESS ! SUCCESS! SUCCESS ! ALL DOUBLE SHORE LINES ARE GONE !!!!!!!
I have spent over one week and many, many, many hours trying to fix this problem of the "double shore lines" and now they are ALL gone from, Misty Fjords, Tongass Fjords, Glaicer Bay v2, Freight Dogs and FS Cargo. I wish I could say that I also can see what the trouble was, but I really can't and as long as your around I'll leave that expertise to you. I can tell you the three things that I did that got rid of them:
1. There was No path listed in the Tongass Fjords path. I typed in what the example above the path 'slot" said to.
2.In the FS9.cfg I changed that Terrain ______ value from "19" to "20"( I'm on another computer and dont remember the exact name).
3. I deleted those two files, "HP913120a.blg" and "HP913120b.blg". Now I have NO double shore lines in any of the following scenery/programs: Misty Fjords, Tongass Fjords, Glaicer Bay v 2, Freight Dogs and FS Cargo. These sceneries look really good now, but could they be better? In one of your instaructions it said that if a person was also using a "LOD 10" mesh, and you said that the FS Genessis disc, "North America 1from 23m CDED/60m NED AK/90 SRTM source data" WAS, I repeat, WAS a "LOD 10"mesh, then certain sections of this mesh should be grouped togather, placed in files and ADDED to the Scenery Library.
My FS Genessis mesh files are in the default location that the installer placed them and they are NOT in folders in the Scenery Library. The question is, in my case, SHOULD THEY BE CUT FROM THEIR DEFAULT INSTALLATION LOCATION AND PUT INTO THE SCENERY LIBRARY AS THE INSTRUCTION SAYS ???

I do NOT want to "overload" you with too many questions at this point but now that I have 5 of your sceneries installed correctly ( except for the mesh question above) what are the next 5-6 sceneries/ mesh etc that I should get to better improve my FS2004 in the area of British Columbia and/or Alaska ? What are their links.?
As it stands right now are the sceneries in my Sceney Library below in their correct order? Thanks again for all of the GREAT help that you have given to me. My FS2004 in "your area of the world really shines now. jerrycwo4

Holger, Thanks for your reply. Before I do that "search" part would you please clear up a "mesh" question that has been bugging me. In one of the instructions it says to do a certain action if I have a FS Genesis "LOD 10" mesh installed. I have the "FS Genesis North America 1 from 23m CDED/60m NED AK/90 SRTM source data" INSTALLED. That title says nothing about any LOD....... Is this a LOD 10 mesh? If so, how can you (or I) tell? I corrected the "NO PATH" I found for Tongass Fjords and changed the Terrain value in fs9.cfg from 19 to 20
After these corrections I still found double lines in a number of areas, CYPR - PANT, and at N54* 40.8' , W130* 59.7'
I then found your post concerning the movement of certain files from one location to another. The 5 files you said to move from " Alaska Glaicier Bay Landscape/scenery"; none of the 5 files were in this folder. They were already in the "Alaska Glacier Bay landscape\cache" folder.
The other "six files" were ALREADY in the "Tongass Fjords\cache\tongas_lsexch" folder, EXCEPT ONE FILE WAS MISSING ! There was no ""0 DF_HP911110 EDITED_LWM2.BGL" in the folder. ( in either folder)
Everything else seems to be correct. I'm disappointed that the "moving of the files" didn't fix my problem like it did for a few others.
I still have NOT RE-installed all of these sceneries. That will be my last action. Could you please send me that missing "0 DF_HP911110 EDITED_LWM2.BGL" file and I'll give it a try. Thanks jerrycwo4

Thanks for the reply. My name's Jerry, not Larry, but that's not a problem. I'm really "getting into" this Alaska and B.C. scenery and I really want it to be correct. I might add this is one of the most complex subjects that I have ever tried to understand, but I'm trying. I try to always make a "RESTORE POINT" before I install anything but the problem I found when installing these sceneries is that it always asked if I have ______ installed, BEFORE I have installed that certain scenery. The best I can tell I did NOT install the 4 sceneries ( 5 counting Freight Dogs) in the above order.
If the installation order is IMPORTANT, I think I need to UN-Install ALL of the programs and start over in the correct order,
DO YOU AGREE?
If so, is this the correct order to install these 5 differant programs?
1. Misty Fjords
2. Tongass Fjords
3. FS Cargo
4. Glacier Bay v2, parts 1 and 2
5 Freight Dogs ( for the airports and aircraft.
I'm fairly sure that while I'm in the middle of installing the first scenery, Misty Fjords that it will ask me if I have one of the other 4 sceneries installed. Do I just say, No, and then install them later?
I'm going to STOP right here and do NOTHING until I receive an answer from you, then I'll proceed to the next step. Thanks again for your help and time. I really want to get this correct !!!! jerrycwo4 :D

Over the last few days I installed
1. FS2004 Misty Fjords
2. FS2004 Tongass Fjords
3. FS2004 FS Cargo
4. FS2004 Glacier Bay
When I finished the install of all of them I noticed that the shore line in a lot of places( mostly Misty and Tongass were incorrect and that it seemed that the water level was too high. Some airports had water on the runways.
I also tried to install Freight Dogs, but when I went to "Shorty's Farm"
the runway was about 1/2 mile out into the WATER. I uninstalled Freight Dogs. These are GREAT scenery programs, but I cannt torlerate the incorrect water level.
Two of the incorrect water levels were
(1) PTF3
(2) SF1

I wish this wasn't so complicated.
A few weeks ago I installed Freight Dogs on a new computer. While installing it, it asked me if I also had FSCargo. I answered, NO. Later on, on this form I was advised that it be nice to have all four of them installed so I UN-installed Freight Dogs, bought FS Cargo, installed FS Cargo, then today I re-installed Freight Dogs. When reinstalling Freight Dogs it again asked it I had FS Cargo and this time I answered, YES and it showed me a bunch of files that it was getting ready to install. Amoung the files were listed, "Misty Fjords" and "Tongass Fjords". When I compleded to installation and started FS2004, I checked the Scenery Library and the top two scenerys were Misty and Tongass Fjords???
SO, the question is, would these be FULL versions of these two sceneries or a cut down "trail" version ? Is there anyway to tell for sure? I was going to buy both FULL versions of these sceneries. Thanks jerrycwo4
