  1. To start with your last question: FS Navigator gives you a VERY realistic route with the waypoints in the way it is done in real aviation, provided that you use the correct settings in FSNav.

You don't have to to be affraid for problems between FSNav and Traffic2005 (I use them both together, without any problem).

If Active Sky will give you problems? I can't say (because I don't have it) but I don't expect it because, as far a I know, it is a programm that has nothing to do with routes but only changes the appearance of the scenery.

  2. Hi Ruud.

    Congratulations with this jubilee.

I've been using your textures for Europe from the beginning and I still like them very much.

Since almost all of my flying is within Europe I never have felt the need to get the other textures but I've seen the screens of them and they are as good as the ones I have for Europe. Beautifull!!

I hope you will continue to deliver textures for FS for a long time!

    Grts.

  3. As from the start for me DBC seems to run perfectly well and creates a set of brand new /modules/FSNavigator/Scenery.000 and Scenery.001 files.
Have also deleted all existing Scenery.000 and Scenery.001 files before running DBC
None of this changes anything - still can't get it to find/load the database files created.

    Hi Carizzi.

Am I understanding you right, that the two files (Scenery.000 and Scenery.001) ARE created but does not work?

In that case it seems to me that your installation of FS-Navigator itself is causing the problem. I would suggest a complete reinstall of FS-Navigator. When (eventually) doing so be sure to remove FS-Navigator via configurationscreen\software and that FS-Navigator is been (re-)installed in the correct map (however, it looks to me that it HAS been installed correctly last time, seen your txt /modules/etc ...., above).

Did you check if anything has left of the old installation of v4,6?

    Grts.

  4. As far as I know the answer is "NO".

State boundarys are never projected. Only the airspace class A and/or B boundarys are shown (if the box is checked in "settings" in FS-Navigator).

But maybe someone has a trick (an addon or so) that can do it but I'm NOT aware of it.

    Grt.

  5. I an new today to FSNAV. Just downloaded FSNAV 4.6 and installed it. When I open the FSNAV database creator, there are 38 entries. I have no addon scenery in FS9. Am just using FS2004 stock scenery. Now my question - to creat this database, do I just click "enable all" and then click "create database"? Do I have to change any of the priorities? Also what does the box "Save to FS" mean?? I found the instructions a little lacking in details.

    Thanks much, Al

    Hi Al.

You can make it very easy for yourself.

First: check if ALL areas are checked (a mark in the box before it; they should be there - if NOT select "enable all")

Then just click "create database" then get yourself a nice cup of coffee or so and for the rest wait, wait and wait. Especially the first time it will take a lot of time to create the database (the next time only the changes have to be compiled).

When the database is ready you get a message on the screen. Now you exit the databasecreator (close it) and that is all. No more to do.

When you now start Flight Simulator and after that FS-Navigator (with pressing F9) you will see all info displayed.

    Good luck!

    Paul.

  6. Hi again Paul,

Well after several hours of trying and even going to the extreme of only leaving 1 AF2_**** file in my addon scenery/ scenery folder it still wont compile the database and locks up. IM not about to throw away all the afcad files I have so I guess I will just have to pass on this program and look elsewhere. From what I have read others who have had the program version 4.6 had no problems until they upgraded to 4.7. No doubt what ever the changes that were made between the 2 versions has created a problem that causes the program to freeze up while reading certain afcad files.

    Sincerely

    Don

    Yep!

    Hi again Don.

I have another suggestion for you.

Make a new map and call it AFCAD FILES

In this map create a folder scenery and a folder texture

The structure should look like this:

    ..\Flight Simulator 9\afcad files

    ..\Flight Simulator 9\afcad files\scenery

    ..\Flight Simulator 9\afcad files\texture

Now, copy ALL of your afcad files to the scenery folder of the newly created map (leave the textures folder empty).

Then move all the original afcad files out of the way -> copy them from the addon scenery map to a safe place outside your Flight Simulator map and then delete them from the addon scenery map.

Now start your Flightsim and after it stabilised close it (during startup you MUST get a message "creating database for new scenery files ....."). The new map afcad files should now been added to the scenery.cfg file.

Probably you now will be able to create a new database for FS-Navigator.

But first uncheck the new afcad files map!!! before doing so!! (it should be at the top of the list)

If that is succesfull (and I think it will be) than now try it again with the folder afcad files checked. Having read your story I expect the creation of the database will being aborted again :( .

In that case move the area afcad files in the database creation screen of FS-Navigator down to a position below the addon scenery and try to create a database again. In this way eventualy afcad info in any addon scenery will overwrite the info in the afcad files present in the afcad files scenery folder.

And about the diffrence between V4.6 and V4.7.

What I have learned from other postings (here) is that V4.7 is looking for certain nav info that is not present (or in a wrong format present) in some afcad files. Not finding this info DBC stops creating the database. V4.6 didn't look for that info so there will be no problem with creating the database using THAT version.

Do you still have the 4.6 version?

If all above fails you could considder to (re)install that version again. I for myself have not noticed very much difference between the two versions to be honest.

    Good luck again!!

    Paul.

  7. Hi Mike , would you please tell me , step by step, how do you export a FSNav plan into FMC of PMDG 737-700 ?

    Thank you in advance.

    Marcos De Bonis.

    Hi Marcos.

My name isn't Mike but I hope you will allow me too to give you the answer :D

First you have to download a little program, called 737expv10.zip (if you give a left (double) mouseclick on this link http://www.fsnavigator.com/download/pmdg737expv10.zip you will be transferd to the download section of the FS-Navigator site and the download will start.

Save the ZIP-file and open it.

Inside the ZIP-file you'll find the flightplan exportmodule, called PMDG737.dll.

Copy or move this file to the map <Flight Simulator Directory>\Modules\FSNavigator\FlpExport.

That's all there is to do.

Now, make a flightplan in FS-Navigator as usual and save this file.

The way how to import this file in your PMDG FMS is clearly decribed in the readme that comes with the ZIP.

If you need more information just call in again in this topïc.

    Good luck.

    Paul.

  8. Hi Don.

When you tried to compilate the database did you have ANY addon scenery installed allready?

If not then I think there is something wrong in the FS9 basic installation and NOT with FS-Navigator.

If the answer is yes I would suggest you to delete (or move to another place OUTSIDE FS9) that scenery, so that only the basic addon scenery map of FS9 remains, and try again to compilate the database.

If it is successful now then reinstall one by one the addon scenery and make a new database after each install to find out witch addon is causing the problem.

I use the program for a very long time now and have a lot of addon scenery installed but never had a problem with compiling a new database (did it over 100 times!) as mentioned in a lot of topics here. But as I understand a lot of times it is caused by addon scenery that is not completely compatible with FS9 and FS-Navigator cannot read all the info it needs.

    Good luck!

    Paul.

  9. Paul,

You may know this already, but there is an approved method of optimizing the loading of the UK2000 airports in FSNavigator.

Essentially within the Database Creator utility you have to move the AF2_High folder to above (higher in importance) the rest of the UK2000 entries before running a re-scan/update.

I stress that this changed running order is ONLY within the DBC, and the order shouldn't be changed within the FS2004 scenery.cfg file.

This is completely new to me, but I will give it a try.

    Thanks for the hint anyway!

    Regards,

    Paul.

I tried it and it worked!

    At least for Cardiff (EGFF)

    Thanks again!

    Paul.

  11. Ok Guys

This may sound a little bizarre.

I have lost my runways at cardiff EGFF, I have done a database reuild and check evrything I could possible check but to no avail. the runway and all taxiways have dissappeared when I have FS NAv on Cardiff Airport, all other aiporst that I cansee seem to be alright.

    Any clues

    Wycliffe

    Hi Wycliffe!

Are you talking about the default Microsoft scenery or do you have a third party addon active?

It's a known problem that FSNavigator is not alway showing aprons, taxiways, and sometimes runways too, when they are from third party software.

I just checked it on my system (again).

I have the UK2000 addon from Gary Summons installed (part 6 includes EGFF) and I too have NO taxiways or aprons in FS-Navigator on that airport. Just the runway (including the ILS) and the parking spots from the AFCAD-file.

I've heard much about this problem. So, I'm affraid we'll have to live with it .......... :(

    Grt.

    Paul.
