FSX 2d panel transparency control?

I was wondering if there was any control that can set the 2d panel transparency such as in the FSX options display aircraft slider? I'm thinking maybe not, as it seems if transparency is set to 0% the outside view will take the sizeX and sizeY parameters from panel.cfg, while any transparency above 0% causes the outside view to fill the window and I imagine that would be hard to change on the fly with a control.
