  1. Prepar3D V4 - The Easy (Safe) Way

Hi Tony, thanks for doing this. I see you edited this last Wednesday and Elaine's guide has been last edited June 7th, so I have a couple of questions if it's ok. I'm having a bit of an issue, I used Elaine's guide from AVSIM and just copied the xml she had, and it works, but I'm getting a ntdll.dll crash on exit of P3D v4, not all the time but most of the time since adding MyTraffic this is the xml file I am using: (notice there some differences from yours, not only the path, which is normal, but the extra line at the top) :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <SimBase.Document Type="AddOnXml" version="4,0" id="add-on"> <AddOn.Name>MyTraffic6</AddOn.Name> <AddOn.Description>MyTraffic6.</AddOn.Description> <AddOn.Component> <Category>SimObjects</Category> <Path>C:\MyTraffic Professional\MyTraffic\Aircraft</Path> </AddOn.Component> <AddOn.Component> <Category>Scenery</Category> <Path>C:\MyTraffic Professional\MyTraffic</Path> <Name>MyTrafficScenery</Name> <Layer>114</Layer> </AddOn.Component> </SimBase.Document> ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Does this look ok? Should I remove that top line? thanks man
  2. MyTraffic 6a for Prepar3D v3 & v4

    Hi Elaine, thanks for this, I have MyTraffic now working in P3D v4. However I do get a crash on exit, NOTE this only happens when I quite P3D v4: (could this be because of the military aircraft?) Log Name: Application Source: Application Error Date: 7/1/2017 4:18:37 PM Event ID: 1000 Task Category: (100) Level: Error Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: ROBS-PC Description: Faulting application name: Prepar3D.exe, version: 4.0.28.21686, time stamp: 0x594a7255 Faulting module name: ntdll.dll, version: 10.0.15063.0, time stamp: 0xb79b6ddb Exception code: 0xc0000374 Fault offset: 0x00000000000f775f Faulting process id: 0x35ec Faulting application start time: 0x01d2f2a5b79959db Faulting application path: F:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\Prepar3D.exe Faulting module path: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll Report Id: 6f00a10b-0d38-4e12-a122-92654979a4ba Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID: Event Xml: <Event xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/event"> <System> <Provider Name="Application Error" /> <EventID Qualifiers="0">1000</EventID> <Level>2</Level> <Task>100</Task> <Keywords>0x80000000000000</Keywords> <TimeCreated SystemTime="2017-07-01T20:18:37.350279800Z" /> <EventRecordID>8554</EventRecordID> <Channel>Application</Channel> <Computer>ROBS-PC</Computer> <Security /> </System> <EventData> <Data>Prepar3D.exe</Data> <Data>4.0.28.21686</Data> <Data>594a7255</Data> <Data>ntdll.dll</Data> <Data>10.0.15063.0</Data> <Data>b79b6ddb</Data> <Data>c0000374</Data> <Data>00000000000f775f</Data> <Data>35ec</Data> <Data>01d2f2a5b79959db</Data> <Data>F:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\Prepar3D.exe</Data> <Data>C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll</Data> <Data>6f00a10b-0d38-4e12-a122-92654979a4ba</Data> <Data> </Data> <Data> </Data> </EventData> </Event>
  3. Never mind Alan, I found my old installation notes, all is good now!! I had them in some old backup files!!
  4. Hello again Alan, Happy New Year!! I have a quick question, I am having to reinstall FSX (got Windows 10 Pro) and can’t for the life of me remember how to properly install the Traffic3D_Sounds for FSX. (First off, and a side note, I went to FS Pilot Shop FSPS to see if any updates had been added in the past year and ALL my download links for all my products has been deactivated…lol They want $5.00 to reactivate ALL links that I used ONCE!! So they will be getting NO MORE of my money for anything. So if there ANY updates I don't have them.) Anyways, that aside, I still have my original installer which worked fine with UT2 on my last setup, so my question is, do I: 1) run the installer 2) select UT2 sounds 3) let that do it’s thing 4) I’m done? OR is there any other part of the installer that I need to install. Sorry to be a pain man, BUT this is my last module to install (after 2 days of installing addons) and I just can’t remember how to do this one. Thanks man!! RC
  5. Howdy AchillesP, thanks for the reply. Actually I am already activated at this time, but I think my install is messed up somehow, can I uninstall and reinstall without sending back my key? It will be on the exact same PC and is fully activated. sorry for the confusion. (the program works, the problem is I am getting some kind of.NET error that I've never had before, and it happened right after I updated, I think my download was bad so I want to try a reinstall before contacting support) thanks man, sorry to bother.
  6. Hey ya'll quick question, I think I borked my Fiber Acc with the last update I installed "over" the top of it, can I uninstall and then reinstall the latest version without having to kick back the license? thanks RC
  7. Machine Lock Error?

Yikes, I didn't know that. A video card upgrade might also set it off?? That also probably means my other FSPS add-on that's installed is locked? lol ouch. I really don't use anything since I got Fiber anyways so I probably just uninstall the other one. I don't usually mess with what is not broken so I rarely update my BIOS BUT I got a new GTX980SC ACX (for a good price!) and ASUS had just came out (a month ago) with a new BIOS for my board that adds "stability/performance update for XMP profile/overclocking" which I use so I wanted to give the old PC a nice boost. well learned something new today, I better go check on my other add-ons and contact support again... thanks BD
  8. Hey again y'all, I know this problem has to be handled through support and I have already submitted a ticket. So this is NOT a support question. BUT, I was wondering why this happened? I have only installed FSX Fiber Accelerator one time (other than updates) and it just came out of the blue. So to try to see what causes this: I have only updated 2 things in my PC since last use, my BIOS and my video card, would this/either of these cause this? Or Can it be caused by using CCleaner or a reg cleaner or anti virus?? And to prevent it, I would need to reject the license FIRST then update my BIOS or video card? Thanks, and I'm only asking because I get ONE day a week to enjoy my flight sim hobby and it/this being Sunday I may not get support today, so I would like to try to prevent this from happening again if possible. Thanks for any suggestions and Happy New year! RC JBB
  9. Hey AC.....that is awesome!! Yer a good man AC, you responded quickly and with respect. that's why I give you my business!! Again, Happy New Year man!! And thank you for your good service! JB
  10. I have a Sound Blaster X-Fi Champion gaming something or other, so I went into the card options and used the surround slider to move more sound to the back/side speakers and that seemed to help a bit, I also set my sound device in FSX to use my hardware speakers and that helped even more. Sounds pretty good now!! I'll keep mess'n with it though till I get it just right. Say Alan, I saw in another thread that you mentioned there is a way to get start-up/spin-up sounds, but that it was somewhat of a pain? I had a problem with this and the Audio Environment program crashing FSX whenever I used my Helicopters, I actually had to remove the "moduelinstaller" part from AEX to get FSX to stop crashing with Helos. All that module does is to create spin-up start up sounds for jets. Quick question, can I use/enable startup sounds with your program OR within FSX? and does it cause any of these same problems with helos? thanks man, and sorry to be a pain, I'm actually pretty excited about Traffic3D Sounds and want to get the most out of it!!
  11. what slider most represents "AI" aircraft sounds, Engines or Environment? I do hear the new sounds through all of my 7.1 speakers, but I want to see if I can get them louder. thanks. ::::::::EDIT::::::::::::I just realized something, from the front (Turbine sounds) the sound is greatly improved and sounds just right, but when the jets pass the "thrust" sound goes down to almost non existent. Is there any way to make just this part louder? Thanks. PS: (Useless info) I grew up about a mile+ from TIA (KTPA) and believe it or not I miss those take-off thrust sounds from early in the morning. lol At some times on early morning/foggy days they would thrust for a minute or so with breaks on the aircraft to get the rabbits and flamingos off the runways, this was of course after too many people complained and they quit using the howitzer...haha. But from a mile or so away the takeoff thrust sound would rattle my windows.
  12. Got it, thanks man!! The only reason I asked is that one of them (GA) supports airport ground vehicles and I was going to keep that one checked. Not necessary at all really, but I did like it. Anyways, I'll give it shot today. I have UT2 so I got to finish reading the users guide 1st. Have a Happy New year!!
  13. Howdy Alan, I have both the old Flight1 sound add-ons for FSX, Audio Environment and Audio Environment GA, and was wondering if as long as I have set these 2 both back to default (sounds not activated/installed) do I still have to uninstall both programs? Thanks man
  14. Howdy Burkhard thanks for the reply. I just checked and you are correct, apparently the scenery did not get added to the file. I know the windows 7 64bit trick of adding the scenery but for me there is no white area within the My Traffic folder to click on, and I cannot adjust the size of that window so I just kept clicking. I did not notice this the first time I tried it looked like it worked and I just closed the window and then closed the scenery folder and it did it's thing, I had to do this a few mores times to get it to add but it finally did!! I just did a quick check and I am seeing traffic now, not much but it's there. Should I select a schedule? And where should the My Traffic folder be in the Scenery file, above or below all my add-on scenery? <---is this critical? Should I even worry about it? also, can I use My Traffic for Military only alongside UT2? (not important but just wondering) thank you very much for your help Burkhard, I really do appreciate it!
