Thanks guys :)Happy to see many are getting good fps, but sad that some like Adam, Jonatan, and Jasiu, are not able to run her at a decent speed, ah, well one day guys.
I am having a rest now to play Doom3 :)

At last Gipsy Moth IV with a full interior is finished :)
Now, a word of warning, due to the high level of detail it is highly unlikely that this version will run on a computer without a decent dedicated graphics card. If you are getting 13 or 14 fps then it will be OK, anything less is not good enough.
She can be downloaded from the URL below.

Enjoy ( If You Can )

To get rid of the lights you need Jeff's "Invisible Object"Copy the "sphere.x" file from any of my boats and rename it "lights.x", It would be polite to add a thanks to Jeff file in the boat.

Thanks guys, I messed about with the NVidia settings, but did not notice any change nomatter how I set them, Oh, well I guss it's the best this card will do, I am getting 14fps with the almost finished Gipsy Moth full with interior which is smooth enough, so it will do.

Has anyone else got this card a 128mb GeForce 6600 PCI-E, and if so what fps in VS are you getting, and do the reflections work at a reasonable speed, as I can't see any difference in performance between this new card and my old one, ie, they both suk :(
It runs Doom3 great :?
PS, I am getting 21fps with Gipsy Moth Light, with bump mapping on.

Well, at least I am back online, it's like having your arms cut off when you are not!
Just have to install like about 30 programs now

Sorry folks but Gipsy Moth will take a couple of days longer to finish, as the wife just got a phone call saying my new computer is coming this evening and it will take me a couple of days to set up all my software.
Just thought I would let you know.

Good one Jonatan, it sure does look like mine :)

fitted a few bits of trim, and the saloon tableI only have about 4 days work left to do in creating the Skippers bunk before she is finished.

Well, if this old heap of a computer hangs together Pirate, she will be finished in 5 days :)

Sadly we can't make the inclinometer work, Ron could have done, but it is below the tranparent plane that keeps the water out, so it was invisible :(

Very nice :) Before you go any further get the model into VS, as it is easier to see what is going on, and you can keep an eye on the fps, but in general don't go above 45.000 polygons if you want a fairly decent fps in VS. You can push the polys up to 65.000 if you must, as I have had to do on the version of Gipsy Moth with an interior, but if you go so high your model will not be usable by many with a lower end computer and graphics card.

Fitted the port side saloon seating and bunk today, will fit the saloon table tomorrow.

Cool, that just has speed written all over it.
Erm, and Powerplay, and P2-42, and. Oh, shutup Alan your rambling again :)

Thanks Joao, not promising anything, but I have sent them off to UKSA, and they say they MIGHT use use one of them for the back of the CD cover at the boat show.
Cheers

Hey, Adam, do you have to wind your computer up, that's really a grim fps :)
Alan
-
Well, if you remove the reflection, and bump mapping, as they are both fps killers the full version should run at about the same as you are getting now Gwilym. Even I don't know what fps I will get on my new computer, it's got to be more than the 9fps i'm getting without a graphics card.
