Confused no more!! Ruud I have been doing more tweaking and I have to say that its just my machine that needs upgrading flying away from populated areas I am starting to see things that just amaze me . Forests that look real ,colors that make me look at the real world differently ( am always comparing the real world to yours ) I have seen the so called photo realistic scenery but they tend to look less colorful and therefore less realistic at Higher altitudes .
Thank you

Ok Ruud sounds great also do you have any other recommended settings including video card settings ? the one i am confused about is gamma correction on or of ? I feel off looks better ?

I was just wondering what the recommended settings where for your textures I find the seem to look OK at 1mtr texture resolution what where they designed for I find using them at 60 or 30 centimeters the tend to look pixelated at lower altitudes .

Ok I have tweaked the system a bit and set my detail radius to medium and its starting to look a lot better My computer is an older one to 2800+ athalon 1.5 gigs of ram 7600gt nvidia card with 512 mbs of ram I guess they would even look better with a faster machine . I am also running Vancouver+ and it defiantly makes it look more detailed . would a faster computer get rid of the pixelzation at low altitude ? when I first ran them I could not see the fine detail but now with the tweaking I am really appreciating the detail Ruud has put into them.

You mean to say that there is no way to replace the forestland areas with the stock ms texture to make it look 3d . Can I get the file names so I can experiment ? or will there be a patch for this in the future?

Ok Thanks Jon thats great you can actually change the magnification on the fly thats a lot better than FS9 . Now all we need is a spy satellite
for FSX !!
-
I have noticed that in the Van+ loaded flights you have changed the cockpit magnification . The mountains look Larger and the instrument panel is closer , this also increases the blurries . I know how to change this in fs9 but how did you do it in FSX?

ok Holger looking forward to the update until then I will be exploring the Vancouver Area I am still amazed at how much detail you guys have put into this even the little things like the dyke near delta airpark they have the path on them I have walked them many a times while my Dad was up flying his Volksplane .

OK you guys win I have been flying with your texture enhancements and they look fantastic especially when I set the water to 1x low Even on my wimpy machine its getting hard to distinguish between reality and FSX in screen shots .
Thanks Larry

Holger I tried the enhanced and they do look great as far as detail in the Vancouver area Little Mountain AKA Queen Elizabeth Park defiantly looks more realistic " the parking lot which was my hang out in my younger days is there " but I feel that there is to much grassland in the mountains. I tried running the Garret mod after and It would seem that Vancouver+ enhancements override the Garret mountain Mod Is there a way I can run Both? Here is the same shot with just the enhancements.

Hi Holger hows Creston doing been 7 years since I lived there . I just figured that out about the textures I will revert back to the default and set the enhanced and see how that is I miss read the instructions I thought that that configuration was for reverting back to stock textures if you had changed the actual textures . I will try it it looks like it does the same as Garrets mountain mod as it just reconfigures the default textures.

No but I have looked back at some other shots and i think there seems to be more detail and less brown sandy textures with Garrets mountain texture mod (fsxrockiesmod_1c.zip). I tend to be a tweaker Im always playing around with different tweaks . I thought that I had seen you mention about a water texture upgrade that you recommended for FSX I have looked for it but cant find it .

Hi Jon and Holgar Just a couple of Questions First I have noticed that the textures in the downtown core are different then the rest of the Vancouver area they don't seem to be the photo textures is there a reason for this or is it my system? I have just tried out Garrets mountain texture mod (fsxrockiesmod_1c.zip) Do you know of this mod and does it affect any of the Vancouver plus landclass files It would appear that mountains in the distance are more defined and the cliff areas seem to look a little more realistic . do you feel that this takes away from Vancouver+ ? Also It would appear tha Holger lives in Creston I lived there for Twelve years during the 90's just wondering if you know of any landclass files for the Creston Kootney region as MS seems to have left out the town I cant see any buildings almost looks like a view from a mars lander!
Thanks Larry
