  1. Hello everyone. I've been lurking in the shadows for a long time here, but not so much lately. Getting back into flying a little as time allows. I have been watching a new reality TV show that is on Discovery Channel here in the USA called Flying Wild Alaska. It follows the COO of a fairly large regional airline in Alaska and his family. I don't know how many others can see it outside the USA but it is pretty entertaining and somewhat educational for those interested in bush flying. Although the airline, ERA Alaska, has larger planes the show follows the pilots flying a variety of Cessna's and an occasional B1900. They mainly show flying in and out of small airports and gravel strips and even sandbars.

I have not seen much talk about this show anywhere in forums, especially on flight sim and bush flying sites. Just thought I'd mention it to see if anyone else has seen the show or am I the only one...

Here is the show's website that has some videos online: http://dsc.discovery.com/tv/flying-wild-alaska/

  2. How sad! Fortunately no one was hurt or worse...except for maybe the still. :(

After the smole clears and the embers die down I think we can find a couple of willing guys that could be contracted to rebuild Emma Field to it's past glory. I'm sure they can make it as good as it was and even better.

  3. Great timing. I just finished re-installing Vista on my main desktop. Time to get Plum Island AND the Piper Super Cub while FSX installs. Maybe even get Joe Watson's Florida Airfields to fly to.

Now where is the page where I can buy nore hours in a day.

  4. Just posted at SimFlight Network's News page.

Many of you may recognize the name Dan Relfe, better known as "skydvdan" from C130Sim.com and quite a number of FS forums. He produced a great freeware scenery package Tucson Photoreal Scenery. Well now he has moved quite a bit north and with help from some others has announced WashingtonX. Although it will be payware this time, the screenshots look fantastic. It will come out in stages with almost the entire western half of the state being covered by the time he is done.

    Check it out here http://www.c130sim.com/

Let's all hope it works well together with the future EmmaX.

  5. Francois answered at least for me. I've got 2 installations of FSX that I'm trying with some difficulty to upgrade to SP1. One is on WinXP and the other is on Vista. The Vista upgrade seems to be working good now. Next is the XP setup. What's taking the most time is the multiple uninstalls/installs and the defragging.

As soon as that's done it's back to splitting the time between Emma Field on fs2004 and really enjoying the flying and exploring FSX.

  6. Since Georender's Yellow Stone is now out..... focus is on Emma X now

Hasn't YellowstoneX been out for a little while now? I know Richard is still working on Yosemite(Vol.3) and Grand Tetons X(Vol.2).

    I'm so confused now...

  7. I sent the same request to Francois last week via PM. I didn't want to start a big deal like some forums where everyone starts getting nasty asking WHERE IS IT!! Release Date??? and the like. Fortunately, I know most of us here at EFFC are above that.

I'll let Francois reply to everyone at once here...

  8. The best one I've seen so far is this one:

Do a search at YouTube.com for "St. Barths Landing". You'll get a whole list of real videos.

I'm not sure why they land in this direction unless it's wind direction. The other direction would come in over a bay similar to Princess Juliana in St. Maarten(TNCM).

The new FlyTampa version of St. Maarten includes both AND SABA for FS2004/FSX. Nicely detailed.
