  1. Nothing other than just a "Hello" and hope you and all are doing OK. Also hope you do, from time to time, happen to log on this site and say hello back.

Enjoy your life and hope to hear from you soon.

    Your friend,

    wb2002

PS. Thanks for your work/contributions to the Flightsim Community.

  2. I am also aware of the fact that the view options within FSX depends on the view mode you're in such as Virtual Cockpit or 3D view or slew mode. Here is the manual for the particular program. Perhaps this will give some idea of what the developer is using to accomplish the features I was referring to. I believe this program intercepts some of the keyboard and mouse inputs and changes them to do what needs to be done to create the desired effect.

    Thanks . . . . .

  3. I understand and thanks for responding. Let me also say that I was NOT expecting you to change anything with FSUIPC. I just thought you perhaps already knew what the signals were that were generated by the keyboard key presses in FSX in regards to functions already designated. I must also tell you that I appreciate your concern and interest in dealing with problems/situations outside the scope of what you designed your product to do - and, Thanks.

I will continue to see what I am able to do with this and pass it on to you just in case somewhere down the line it may also be os use to someone else with a similar setup/configuration.

  4. I understood that, but I don't know what the controls are. I've never used them. Can you lease check and tell me what FS controls it is that do that? (Use FSUIPC event logging if you don't know).

Don't know if I am using this Multiquote feature correctly but bear with me.

VC=Virtual Cockpit - 3d cockpit. While in VC view, if you press the keyboard's "+" key, your point of view moves you closer to the panel and, back from the panel if you press the keyboard's "-" key. If you are in outside spot view, the same effect except you move closer or back from the aircraft.

Oh, so it has! Do you know, I've never noticed that! How clever!

This is not a new feature - it has been around for awhile. I am using a Microsoft cordless Multimedia desktop which includes the mouse that has the wheel capable of rocking side-to-side to accomplish side scroll in appropriate applications, like Microsoft Office apps, Internet Explorere and etc.

Ah, I know about Slewing. Is the forward/back you want slewing too? Is the moving side-to-side possible in non-slew modes, and if so what controls?

I am Not really referring to slewing as when you go into FSX slew mode by pressing the "y" key on the keyboard. I am talking about the slewing effect when in various view modes. I am using a program called DBS Walk & Follow, which allows me to view FSX scenery any direction from an initial point of reference. In other words, I can walk all over an entire airport and even outside areas by pressing the "Up" keyboard arrow key to move forward or "Down" arrow key to move back OR move left or right by depressing the keyboard's "Left" and "right" arrow keys.

It cannot at present, as I already told you. The only mouse treatment in FSUIPC at present was added to replace "mouse look" which is disabled if you disable controllers in FS.

What you are really asking for is what I suggested, to treat the mouse buttons as assignable assets just like joystick buttons. Then you could do the assignment you are talking about yourself. Is that not so?

I'd still like to know what these FS controls are, that you activate using the arrow keys. Are these only in Viryual Cockpits? Maybe I don't know them nbecause I've never used a VC?

    Virtual Cockpit - 3d cockpit.

Either way it would be a complete new facility which I'd need to plan and implement as a project. I think I would only be inclined to do it in FSUIPC4, not FSUIPC3 which is really so old now I don't want to have to mess inside it any more.

As I mentioned - perhaps you are not really understanding what I am requesting - It is most likely my fault.

BTW yours is the only request ever received for something like this. I wonder why? After all, FSUIPC has been going now for over 12 years. Maybe few really use the mouse so much?

As I mentioned - Maybe is seems more complicated than what it actually is.

Using the mouse in FSX is a very common event amoung Flightsimmers. While in 2D and 3d cockpit view and using the left mouse button, the radio freqs can be changed, the altitudes settings can be inputed, other cockpit addons can be activated and etc. Using the mouse is very common to use for this.

    Regards

    Pete

  5. Maybe I am making this sound more complicated than it really is. I am referring to the mouse wheel. At present, for most windows application functions, the wheel is used to scroll up and down. In FSX, it ns to zooms forward and back. (same as if I used the keyboard's "+" & "-" keys). I wish for it to move the point-of-reference forward and back instead. The mouse scroll also has 3 switches associated with it. It I press the wheel down, it activate a shitch (center mouse button) that allows me to move all arount the VC or any direction (up, down, left and right) while depressed and moving mouse around. The wheel can also be tilted right or left that activate swithes that can be program. I want to use this feature to move/slew left or right. I wanted to know if FSUIPC can interpret the default wheel movement to keyboard's up and down arrow keys and the wheel side movement to match keyboard's left and right arrows.

  6. Hello Pete - I would like to be able to duplicate the keyboard's Arrow keys with mouse inputs. While in VC or outside views, I can use the "Up" & "Down" arrow keys to move forward and back and I want to use my mouse wheel to duplicate this (NOT zoom as it presently does). I also want to use the mouse wheel's side-to-side switches to duplicate the keyboards's "Left" & "Right" Arrow switches. Is this possible using FSUIPC and can you assist me with this?

    Thanks

  7. Hello. Today I purchased Dreamscenery INDIANAPOLIS INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT KIND X without realizing there was software that contained the city plus the airport. Is there a way now to just purchase the city to add to the airport for a seamless addition? I am having trouble locating the city scenery only for FSX.

    Would appreciate any suggestions/ideas.

Aldo would like to have any updates to this scenery.

    Thanks

  8. Thanks my friend. It is good to hear from you - more so than what you have provided. Thanks for the final product and best wishes for you and those you love and care about.

Take care and try your best to enjoy everyday of your life - it does not come automatically. Some times it is a "no show" like the follow me vehicle was at some times in the past.

    God bless

  9. Hello Daniel, Hope you and all are doing OK and life is going as hoped. Just checking again to find out if you are still checking this site for any communications. If so, I wish you could provide me/us with the latest work on this product as you have it. No need for any answers for any possible problem encounters. It would be great to see any additional features in latest developement.

In meantime - take care and God bless.

  10. Hey Daniel. Hope you and family are OK. Hope also, that new career is coming along fine.

Just trying to find what status is on the work you've already done for FollowMe 2. Do you think it's complete enough to be made available. I am still interested in obtaining any progress that has been made already even if errors are present. I would not complain because I am already satisfied with what I paid for because it functions fine for me.

I hope you can stop by this forum once in awhile just because there are some good folks here.

    Take care and God bless.

  11. Hello! I'm doing quite okay, but I'm also realizing that I made the right decission. The responsibilities of FollowMe combined with a 40 hour daytime job would not have been healthy any longer.

Actually, I might come a whole lot closer to actually saying Hello as I will be in Oklahoma in a few weeks. Ok, Oklahoma is not Texas, but it's closer than the Netherlands.

As for FollowMe, I will release version 2 'as it is' somewhere in the second half of July.

    Regards,

    Daniel

Good to hear from you. Also hope you have safe, enjoyable trip to Oklahoma. BTW, before I retired from the FAA, Oklahoma City is where most of all my training for the equipment used by the FAA at all the ARTCC's and also training for all Air Traffic controllers. I was not a controller but installed, maintained and certified equipment used at the ARTCC's. I am now retired 4 years now. I worked everyday along side air traffic controllers and made close friends with many.

    Kind regards,

  12. Hello Daniel and Everyone. I realize that Daniel is persueing other goals however I want to express my hopes that he suceeds in all aspects and wish the best. It also appears that all users of this program have been doing so successfully because there are no posts asking for help - (That's a good sign). Actually, I kinda miss the communications on this forum.

Daniel, I do hope you can find the time, once in a while to stop by and just say "Hello".

    Best wishes to all and God bless . . . . .

  13. Hello Daniel,

Very good to hear from you and may I wish you and yours a Happy New Year and hope that most all the things you desire and hope for comes true.

I am sorry that you will no longer be active with this project but I do understand and pray that your latest persuits will be rewarding and satisfying. Glad to hear also that most of FollowMe 2 was completed and looking forward to using the way it is now. I don't need a manual and promise not to bug you if I have any problems with it - I can always revert to what I am using now, which I am and have been pleased with. I have waited for this with much anticipation.

It has been a pleasure to have comunnicated/known you and hope maybe one day in the future we will share again.

  14. Daniel,

I was more pleased to see you respond than I was for a possible solution. I am glad you did "Show". I remember doing the possible solution some long time ago however, as you may already know, FSX is a program you just cannot install only once. I cannot remember or keep count of how many times I have installed FSX and I do not believe I installed this patch the last time I installed FSX. I can understand and accept any programmer that produces an addon for FSX because FSX itself is so buggy, it should have been called "Animal Planet".

Anyhow, thanks and take care of yourself.

    God bdless,

  15. Hello Daniel. It's been a while and I hope you and others are doing OK. I had an experience the other day that I hope you may/can answer. I took an ATC IFR flight to airport (KAUS - USA) and as sometimes it may happen, ATC cancelled my flight plan upon lining up for approach because of vectoring way beyound airport. I then announce I wanted full stop landing of same available airport after manually flying to airport direction. Upon landing, I was asked to contact ground and requested taxi to gate and given permission. I called for followMe but the vehicle never did show up however, when I activated FSX's path to gate, arrows were visible. I thought that the followMe vehicle would always be visible if FSX's own arrow path could be visible. Can you shed some light on this?

Still hope you can find some time for the upgrade.

Thanks, take care and enjoy your life.

  16. Is it possible the DC-9 can be saved in a cold and dark situation? Whenever I attempt to save a situation as this, there is always some noise and sometimes ATC communication when all power and switches are off.

    Thanks

  17. When I start FSX with a saved situation with DC-9 A/C, there are 2 voices that are heard but I cannot understand what they are saying - something like "chickoree". I have uninstalled and reinstalled but did not resolve problem. I have no idea why these sounds are heard and what they reference.

    Please help.

  18. Hi Daniel.

I understand your situation however I am still looking forward to your latest work. Now, I see there is another "Follow Me' kind of program on the market. Your program is working fine for me and have not experienced any problems. I do like the new features you are considering. The change from abrupt appearing and disappearing of the vehicle will be refreshing. The most important thing I desire is some information of how I could change the checkerd painted follow Me vehicle. Since I do most of my flying in the US, this does seem rather weird. I wish I could use a pickup or some kind of truck with a direction bar or something. Could I substitute some AI vehicle? If this could be done, I would really like instruction on how to do it. I think any other vehicle that was a solid color would do.

    Thanks and God bless

  19. I have had problems in the past with A/C that were created for FS9 and ported to FSX. My system is very sensitive to A/C that are not created specifically for FSX and whatever perameters associated or required for FSX. Is this A/C made For FSX and I should not have any problems with it?

    Thanks

  20. Hello Daniel,

Good to see some activity here. How is the latest coming alone? I, for one, would like the vehicle to be a "pick-up" with appropriate signs. If you have successfully made this option selectable, no problem.

You still working on project I hope.

    Take care & God bless,

  21. Hey Daniel,

Forget about that Day Job. Tell your boss you have international customers to support. Try to live off the measly million you have already made from this software. It may be hard but if you put your mind to it and budget yourself, you can do it.

    **** JUST KIDDING ****

I think this is a wonderful program because looking at a whole bunch of yellow arrows pointing the way, just doesn't seem too realistic. And trying to listen to control and writing directions down, at some airports, it would take me longer to get to position than required flight time.

I appreciate your efforts and pray you are able to continue.

    Thanks
