  1. I fly PMDG 737 and 747 and would like my CH Yoke (x axis) to control steering whilst on the ground and spoilers whilst in the air.

This used to work before I had to do a re-installation (I never configured that way so don't know how) but now it doesn't.

Would my registered version of FSUIPC help or do I do something in FS9 assignments or is it a PMDG issue?

I am techinically challenged so any advice would be appreciated.

    Hi!

The solution is simple (kind of...). Install the CH manager from CH products, and use the CMS scripting possibilities. (See the http://www.ch-hangar.com for file downloads and scripting help). I dont think there is a parameter though that can autoswitch this option, but you can easily assign a switch that physically switch the aileron axis into the rudder axis.

I use this option with the Majestic Dash 8. Setting the Control lock ON, switches the Nosewheel steering to the aileron axis, leaves my rudder pedal inactive, and also locks the elevator axis in forward position (like it works in the real aircraft)

An other example I just must write is my setup with 2 CH yokes, 2 CH pro pedals and 1 CH throttle Quadrant. I have all connected to one computer, running FS with WideView (panels on 3 LCDs) and outside view on a projector. I have assigned on button on the CH throttle Quadrant to physically switch between the two sets of yoke and pedals. :) All this done within simple scripting in CH manager.

  2. Hi Pete!

Sorry for my appearant "ignorance", this was not the intention. :).

I recon the "classname" in wideclient.ini is described in the docs for widefs. I will take a look later today.

One more thing that I forgot to ask. Must Wideserver.dll reside in both FS2004 computers (modules folder) ?. In the INI running on the computer 2, i must put the IP for computer one to be able to connect, right ?..

Ok.. I will try this afternoon to se what the result are. Hopefully a tap on my joystick button will produse a result on both FS2004 sessions, and hopefully a tap on the second computers joystick button will do the exact same thing..

    Thanx a lot Pete!

  3. Ok... let me describe my "thought" scenario.

Two computers, both running FS2004 with latest FUIPC registered version installed.

On computer 1 I have an aircraft addon that supports epic offsets for all switches etc in the panel. All buttons and swithces are programmed to work using FSUIPC.

I want to "trick" the WideFs to send a FSUIPC offset to computer nr 2. Result wanted: pressing a epic programet button for e.g. gear, will produce a result on gear beeing retracted on both FS2004 sessions (computers).

Is this achievable in any circumstanses ?

Also studied teh FS communicator... maybe this tool will help me.. ?

  4. Rgd "Devices.cfg":

When you start FS2004, it looks in the devices.cfg to see if your joystick is "known" and predefined here. In addition it takes your modified axis and buttons in the FS9.cfg. If you joystick is unknown, FS still applies a generic assignement to your joystick.

One thing to try out, is to delete all joystick assignements in FS9.cfg, and totally empty the devices.cfg (just leaving a empty document), too see if FS still maps some axis on your devices.

The axis assignement in FSUIPC is great news for those not using CH products. As you easily can add aircraft spesific assignements. If you are using CH products i recommend using the CH manager v4.0 along with CMFS.exe. (read the CMFS documentation to learn what this is about)

  5. Yes.. I have the CH Throttle using FSUIPC configured for a twin.

But I want to configure it differently for the PMDG 744 since it has four engines. I want the middle 4 levers as throttles.

Can this be configured diffferntly just for one single aircraft wihtout disturbing the twin configuration for all other aircrafts?

If so, how do I do that?

I tried selecting airplane specific (I know there was a select option there), but it still only recognize the first two levers as throttles... not the third lever.

    hmmm...

    thanks.

Hi.. i recommend using the CH control manager v4.0 ( http://www.ch-hangar.com ) , and the CMFS utility by Bon Church ( http://www.stickworks.com )

Theese utilities make different joy setup with FS real easy. Set up correctly and you never have to enter the joystick assignements from inside FS2004 ever again...

  6. Hi all!

First off all: Thx to Holger for making this excellent scenery addon!.

Then ; still some off topic (hope yu dont mind Holger).

On behalf of Torgeir Oppland, and myself I thank you for commenting on our coastline/water enhancement of Norway.

I just want to give you some small info on this project. Torgeir has started to create lakes / coastlines and rivers from our very accurate base data. lakes are currently "mesh clinging", due to lack of proper mesh base data for use to get the lakes flat at proper height. BUT, using the Lago Terramesh 15 and 16 with our mesh clinging lakes, doesnt look to bad.

Our project is still in beta stage, and there are several bugs within the released files. Some parts of norway are still missing. This is the part in north not covered by Lago terramesh. For this part I am currently creating mesh data with from basedata down to 20 meters resolution. I recon this area (which covers a large part of northern norway) easily can be made with lakes at proper height. Pls take a look at my "Magerøya Mesh 2004", http://www.flightsim.no/cgi-bin/file/search.cgi?query=mager%F8ya. This scenery contains both accurate coastlines, flat lakes and roads from an area of 6 LOD8 cells. (area surrounding ENHV airport)

Progress in our project has been fast, but are now slowing a bit down due to error correction, and the upcoming holidays (famile must see us some during christmas :) ).

One last thing... the entire package will be released as freeware, for you all to download use and test :)

    Happy holidays!.

  7. hi!

I thinkk you refer to WideView, not WideFS.. widefs is a small app that makes it possible to run a lot of apps on another computer in a local network ( connects to FS via wideFS), there is no d3d rendering in this.. ( Squawkbox, ActiveSKY, FSmeteo, etcetc. )
