  1. P3D 4.5, Prosim 2.30, CPflight h/w connected via the MCP, FSUIPC 5

    I am trying to get FSUIPC to recognize as a button the movement of the I/C switch on my CPflight ASP (Audio Sound panel)

    But I cannot get FSUIPC (version 5) to recognize a virtual button.  I went into prosim/configuration/Gates and selected the I/C on the captain side to FSUIPC 32 bit U with the offset 0x3340.0 (see attached pic) but when I go into FSUIPC buttons tab (with everything running including P3D, prosim system, prosim MCP), it does not sense the moving of the I/C switch as a button.

    I tried other offsets (3344.0, 3352.0) but still no joy.  I checked that the I/C switch hardware is working, it is recognized by the CPflight hardware test all ok.

    I would be very grateful if you can shed light on this!

  2. Great to have you back, Pete!  Now seems to be resolved after I installed 4948c.  But I don't know if it was that or the fact that this time, before installing 4948 (from 4939v) I cleared out the old registry entries for FSX (which I do not have) which were causing an issue on install of FSUIPC as detailed in the prosim forum.  I suspect these were messing something up on install.  Also, someone else on the prosim forum reported that the wxr radar worked for him after uninstalling the p3d fsx migration tool so maybe having FSX "left behind" is the culprit

    Anyway, thanks again

  3. Hi, I am using P3D 2.5, Prosim 1.46b5, ASN and wxr radar has been working fine for months. Just upgraded fsuipc from 4.939v to 4.948 and no longer have any wxr visuals on my ND, even in heavy cb area. I checked the fsuipc ini and I still have the entry ASNwxRadarPath=c:\ProSim737\radar.bin and my latest prosim log has:

    11/14/2015 5:50:26 PM * System:Active Sky Next integration enabled
    11/14/2015 5:50:26 PM * System:Active Sky Next radar.bin loaded successfully, using prerendered ASN cloud data

    Anyone else had this problem with fsuipc 4.948?

    Looking in my simconnect log for today (14th nov) there is a simconnect error message, but I think this is something else as I had the same message yesterday (13th nov) and previously, when the wxr radar was working fine.

    FSUIPC had an install error because it was looking for an old path to a dummy fsx folder which I no longer have, but the install to P3d seems ok

    The logs are all attached here on the prosim forum (I couldn't attached them here)

  4. I have just installed fiber accelerator with a new install of P3D 2.5, I used to use it with FSX.

    I have an i7 2600K 8BM processor and 2 Radeon HD6970 2GB on a 4 TV view (the main view is stretched on the front 2 TVs and there is one undocked view on each TV on either side).  With FSX I would get about 15-20  fps on a detailed airport and then up to 100 away from it

    I have P3d on low settings for graphics and terrain and with fiber accelerator P3D is saying 10fps although within the FA program it says 16-26.  Why is this different?

    2nd question is are there some good tweaks for P3D 2.5 like there were for FSX, I heard that the recommendation for 2.5 was not to tweak?

  5. OK, thanks for all the info, I will report back with progress.

    Btw, it would be good to be able to see the fiber gauge when in flight....as I have FSX in full screen mode and Fiber on my FSX PC which displays the view outside the cockpit, it is impossible to view the Fiber gauge during flight.  Is there a plan to address this, for example to be able to run Fiber on a networked pc, or at least to be able to view the gauges on a network pc even if fiber is still run on the fsx pc?

  6. Thanks, though note I have never had an out-of-memory until now and I have used FSX intensively for around 6 years.  A fairly recent add-on is Unlimited Traffic 2 which I have run for around 2 months with no problems, although not intensively as I fly mostly on vatsim.  Maybe it is this.  I have their display traffic option on 20%

    Adjust blurries for speed was and is activated

    I am unclear on CPU Terrain, the manual says it should be as low as possible, but this is the red zone on the dial, the higher the reading the more green the dial.  Should it be in the low region or high?  Latest test:

    If I set the low target at 23, cpu terrain goes to 80-100, efficiency 90-100%, memory 2651, video override 2048, frames still jump around 18-25, but spike to 45 a lot, the experience is very good

    If I set the low target at 24, cpu terrain goes to 2-6, efficiency 1-7%, memory 2654, video override 96, frames still jump around 18-25, but spike to 45 a lot, the experience is very good

    If I desacticate fiber all the dials zero except frames which are same as above and memory, the experience is good but occasional stutters

  7. I have been running just Fiber Accelerator around 7 times with no problem (v 1.2 and 1.3.1).

    My setup has 2 Radeon 6970 2Gb graphic cards, one card is connected via DVi to Matrox Dualhead2 with 2 TVs which combined are on 3840 x 1080 x 60Hz at 32 bit and also connected to the left side TV via HDMI 1080p 60 HZ.  The 2nd card is connected  to the right side TV via HDMI 1080p 60 HZ.  Within FSX I have the front view (dualhead2go) set at 3840 x 1080 x 32 and each of the side views at 1920 x 1080 x 32.  My processor is the core i7 2600K 8MB 1155

    I recently purchased FSX Booster too and just ran my 1st flight with it with what I think seem like mid settings for optimal performance and no stability issues.  The memory clock of each card is stated at 1375MHz Memory Clock (5.5 Gbps GDDR5), so I put 1375 in FSX Booster.  In FSX Booster I have pixels at 1024, OPtimal boost, buffer pools enabled, 4 pixels, trees etc on yes, frames per sec 60, 3.5 level of detail radius, use 1st cpu for add-ons, speed up terrain loading unchecked, Directx unchecked, FSX process priority normal, adjust blurries for speed, everything else checked

    I had Fiber set at 20 for Low (up to 1000 AGL) and 35 for medium (to 5000 AGL) and FSX frames set to 60

    At the airport on startup Fiber showed what seemed good results, except maybe the CPU Terrain is what is causing the issue, as I read in the manual that this needs to be as low as possible??:

    • CPU terrain 100%
    • Efficiency 90-100%
    • Video overide 2048 (max)
    • Frames are jumping a lot but are around 16-24, sometimes jumoing to 40

    All was ok on the flight except 2 times at around 10000 ft I got a couple of jerky frames, but all continued ok until taxiing at my destination aitport when FSX froze with a message of "Out of Memory, restart FSX and set different graphic settings"

    If I set the low target at 25, cpu terrain goes to 0, efficiency 1-2%, video override 96, frames still jump around 18-40

    If I set the low target at 23, cpu terrain goes to 35, efficiency 40-50%, video override 2048, frames still jump around 18-40

    What is likely to have caused the out of memory issue?

    Is it the CPU Terrain being at 100%?

    Should I go for the Low setting of 23?

    Do I leave FSX Booster open alongside Fiber during flight or should Booster be closed?

    Thanks

  8. Hi, I have both, that is Ok I understand, FSX Booster being the initial optimal setup (static) and Fiber Accelerator being dynamic, changing settings as you fly.  Pls confirm ok to use both like this.

    Just one other question re FSX Booster, I have 2 Radeon HD6970 2GB DDR5 graphic cards, the spec for each one says 1.375 Ghz (5.5 Ghz effective).  I use one card for the front view (two 42 inch TVs 1920 x 1080  60 mhz connected via Matrox Dualhead2Go) and the other card for the left and side views (same TVs).

    1/  What should I put in the box for the Ghz speed of the cards?

    2/  Is there anything else special I should put in FSX Booster specification, given my view setup?

    I can get over 100 fps when airborne but have the same issue around airports (around 12-20 without FSPS add-ons), using the Intel I7

    Result was the same, it opens the program the first time I do it, but not the 2nd and after.  I have to close and re-open wideclient for it to work

  11. The button is a goflight button, I have checked it is working fine on the buttons page of FSUIPC.  I have it programmed as Kesend3 (key press not to be held) and then for release Keysend4, which I have not yet assigned....ah, ha maybe that is the issue? (I will delete this keysend4 and see)

    I put in the Log=Keysend when I did the last test....I thought the log files above were the result or is the log filed somewhere else?

    What I found odd was the line 63165, why it only picked part of the address first or is this normal?

  13. Hi Pete

    I have the following in my wideclient .ini:

    [user]
    Log=Errors+
    KeySend3=RunKey1
    RunKey1=c:\fast\fast\fastflightsim.exe

    and on my FSX PC I assigned Keysend 3 to a button.

    It works fine after I first run wideclient and press the button on the FSX PC, the program loads fine.

    Then I manually close the program and try the button again, but nothing, it won't load the program again, only if I close and retart wideclient.

    I also tried pinning this program on the windows taskbar, from where I can activate it with the windows start button, ie it is the 2nd program on the taskbar so Winkey+2 will open it.  I tried putting in the wideclient ini the following but nothing happened:

    KeySend3=50,40 (I understand 40 is the winkey)

  14. Hi Achilles, I really need to sort out the fire module urgently on Monday (11th) as I have 2 737 pilots coming to check out my sim on Tues and all is working except this, I can't get the basics working:

    - The bottles never put out a fire

    - The reset button in the FSPS software does not reset the lights on the fire module

    - The fire button on the MIP does not cut out the bell

    I am using PM with latest FSPS sw and PM Sys v 202 with the 737 lgc file you sent me

    I am staying with the sim all day Tues to resolve this with you

    Pls help!!

    Best
