  4. FSUIPC shutsdown after every flight?

    Hello all,

    I don't know if I'm the only one with this problem. I've noticed recently that after every flight I complete, FSUIPC disappears from the add-ons window. I fly online on the IVAO network. and after flight I disconnect from their network. and even if I'm doing a turn-around FSUIPC IS GONE!! Meaning I have to completely close FSX and restart it again. (Thus putting me way outside my time-based flight window.) I've updated to 4.91 and installed widefs as a part of it but cant afford to register WIDEFS as of yet. Is there a remedy for this or is it just the way it has to be for now?

    stopped running as admin and glad to say all is well. but will have to wait until after I land to see if the auto save as well as "save panel state" inside the fmc on the ngx is working properly. it wasn't before running as admin, and thats why i changed it.

    I might have it narrowed down. I installed 4.756 and glad to report that fsuipc is now back in my menu. but sadly the pauses are still there. I changed the auto save interval (in the fsuipc menu) from 60 secs to 180 secs and the pauses seem to be coinciding with the auto saves. Is there anyway I can set this up to only save like every half an hour, or every hour? I really only use it for a back up, say... if fsx crashes, on a long flight.

    Okay. The fact that you have an FSUIPC4.LOG file being produced means that FSUIPC is actually being loaded. So that's one step forward.

    I note you have 4.728b installed. That was a temporary interim release. Not sure how you got stuck on that, but it would be a good idea to change it -- 4.756 is available on the Download Links subforum.

    I did but was in the middle of a flight and couldn't install. I'm about to do that now. Do I need to do this under admin rights, Since It seems I'm gonna have run fsx this way for the ngx?

    FSUIPC defaults to a timeout of 1 second in receiving SimConnect messages (which should arrive at your FS frame rate, as a minimum). Something in your system is stopping FS once every minute, approximately, for something over a second. Don't you notice any such pauses whilst flying?

    Yes, and its most annoying. It just started today, once I started running fsx under admin rights.

    You can make FSUIPC more lenient, by editing the FSUIPC4.INI file -- the parameter is "SimConnectStallTime" and you'll see it is set to 1. You can set anything up to 9 (for 9 seconds). but really you should try to find out what is causing the >1 second pauses.

    I'd rather find the problem than to try to change fsuipc

    Why, and how? There should be no need.

    Because I was having a problem with the NGX saving panel states, and that was what I was told to try. And it did rectify THAT situation, however, here I am with this one.

    Running FSX "as administrator" won't change whether FSUIPC4 is loaded and running or not. Did you install it (using the Installer)? Make sure you have the latest version (see the Download Links subforum).

    If there is an FSUIPC4.LOG file produced in the FSX Modules folder when you run FSX, then FSUIPC4 is being loaded, and is running, but probably cannot get a connection to SimConnect. In this case, show me the FSUIPC4.LOG file (paste it into a message here).

    If no log is being produced, then either FSUIPC4 is not installed or there is a SimConnect problem or a corruption in the DLL.XML file, which is what tells Simconnect to load FSUIPC4. In this case, show me the FSUIPC4 Install log file instead, and we'll take it from there.

    I didn't think so either. But I installed it properly. and all was functioning well before. FSUIPC was in the menu. I could change and see the effects of said changes, even mid-flight. Now it has disappeared. Not from the computer, just from the drop-down menu in FSX. I have since elected to run the installer as an admin. but can't re-install until I finish the flight I'm currently on.

    As for Logging, I don't know how to, or where to begin. So without help, I won't be able to post any of that (unfortunately)
